Oooo pirates. Will there be any pirate Booty?
Chick pirates?
Or just piles of bottlecaps in a treasure chest
Hm, frycook at KFC watching over the original recipe? :hehe:
Note: I may svck at guessing jobs. Slightly.
P.S.
This pirate carrier we're not supposed to know about - will it look like the tanker from Waterworld?
P.P.S.
I'm all for pirate booty if she's good looking and only tries half-heartedly to gut me.
I would be a better cook if I didn't have such an open minded approach to food
@p.s. ..but in better condition. Still fuzzy as to how they keep it all working, probably through piracy I suspect
@p.p.s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Swann. I'm not that old
Anywho, gotta get serious for a sec..:
Hi guys,
I'm addressing everyone at the same time , but don't get used to this because I feel kinda weird typing this way.
First off thanks dearly to everyone's willingness to help, wow. Bishop received a lot of queries as to what people could actually do.
Well, for one thing, the ideas are great. I'm loving them, bar none.
But first I need to get everyone a .esp of the Flying Dutchman.
It's not much atm, obviously. But feedback on what there is would be great.
I also want to set up a comms network, using skype or such so that you can look over my shoulder and point out where I'm heading for disaster. It'll also keep my smoke breaks to a minimum since there will be people monitoring me, and not to surf 'other' sites while I should be working.
I now have a Big Brother. Always wanted one
It was asked in what format did I want test results back? Good question, dunno. Any ideas?
Kidding.
Initial testing is all about the build. Does it fit, mesh and flow correctly. There isn't even a c.o.c. marker in it yet so that'll have to be done manually.
Nothing is navmeshed as of today so probably by the end of the week it still won't be, so no companions -actually, I'm not even sure a character can walk anywhere where there isn't any navmesh... oh crap.
And watch out for open areas you can fall trough, since there is nothing beyond it, and you will fall forever :ahhh:
then as interior rooms and the like are completed the portal to the different areas will have to be checked.
And then the really long list starts.
Since I don't want this floating around loose on the 'net, if you could provide an email address, Bishop will collect them and you're .esp will be in the mail.
The return address is where initial communication will go through.
Format is simple, either English or Dutch, German if you have to.. no french :yuck: please in bog standard .txt format, use wordpad or notepad even.
NO OFFICE FILES!!!! NO .doc FILES!! Acky hates them, and so do I.
Thank you
I'll enclose along with the .esp screen shots of the different interiors done so far with comments as to whats what written into the sidelines of the pic. you can use these when stating where something is you wish to report about
well, that is about as much as I want to talk in public in this fashion -which is a lot different than just posting oddly enough
Small update in general as to the building strategy I'm following.
I'm doing all the public access areas first, no individual interiors as of yet. These areas are the interior decks of the ship themselves and thus also interiors as well -except the top deck and waterline, which are worldspaces.
The interior below deck areas are broken up into three main interior spaces, with a fourth being the Engineroom/drive assembly and ballast space, a fifth being the top deck world space and the sixth being the outer world space
The three main below deck interior areas start directly below the top deck with the first being FDlvl06Metro
This is area one gallery level in height and runs from the bow all the way to the stern in one stretch. This is still a fairly nice neighborhood/deck to be on..
next comes FDlvl07UpperBronx/Newark
This deck has two gallery levels and runs from the bow of the ship to the bridgehouse, where the lower decks of the bridge are, as well as the engineroom.
lvl07 is the last deck that isn't split across by the shipping canol that cuts through the ship (and people are worried about corrosion
). This canol is about 12.5 meters high and 10 meters wide with sliding "hangar doors" on each side. Everything forward of the shipping lane is considered "the bronx" while everything aft of the waterway up to the engineroom is known as Newark.
The closer you get to the waterline -and thus the docks- the less tourist friendly the neighborhood gets
More as I go
Acolyte is staying in the background for this. Bossman being all serious and all.
