Okido, If you are on the Executive Production Board aka Council of Elders and haven't received an email with a download link for the files from a file hosting site then please let me know, Because then I've goofed..
again...

I'm taking tomorrow off to goto Amsterdam, do some consumer therapy, and finally get some much needed additions to either my horde of deranged Orks, or my rag-tag Imperial Guard detachment..
Choices...

Baneblade or Stompah..

This could be a good thread over on the general discussion

Yeah.. I tries to install a few lights, be realized that I have no clue yet as to doing it right. with regards to scaling the lights and getting it right.
I just built the insides ang outsides, and laid down the navmesh..
everything else for me is a work in process
Same with the ship here and why I'm sending it out to others this early is to get feedback whether I'm going in the wrong direction or not.. Like right noe I'm not sure whether I've made the lower deck levels too large, in which case I want to cut them up before I get too deep in the other aspects..

Crush crush crush!!!

Errrr...

I mean Imperial Guard? Bleh. Eldar are way better.
Only thing worse is Chaos cultists. Sorta.

Anyway, going to do some customer therapy (nice one!) tomorrow myself to replace the HDD that flunked out on me and then I'm going to re-install Fallout 3 and a bazillion mods. So, with little doubt, I can say that I'm going to be screwed tomorrow.

Hmm, reminds me: I should get a red HDD. It's faster. ;)

ok, up until now I was still in control...

until I saw http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300112&prodId=prod1150013 -been looking for them for awhile

and http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300106&prodId=prod1860243was next to them..

realizing all common sense had fully departed me, I felt that my Orks would be actually outgunned for the first time, and not having any of that I ended up in short order with

Sounds like you had a fun day Old andy :P

Just a thought,
Wouldnt the BOS be very interested in all the technoligy on this ship? Maybe a line of quests to help the brotherhood take out the outlandish seamen or a more diplomatic one where you can assist in trades of sorts?

I did, thanks :)

Yeah, about the Bos...
Good one.
I have them on my, er.., story interaction chart.. -it's a number of pages in a writing book filled with scribbles, notes, names, actions and possible results, which I use to look for connections between groups..
Part of me thinks the BoS would be interested in the Flying Dutchman because it's still running and because of the number of techies that keep different technologies alive.. but it would probably be more of a curious interest I was thinking along the lines of the BoS trying to establish a diplomatic foothold on board and the character acting as intermediar -speech/charisma/prior dealing with BoS permitting
This should be a kind of two edged sword, but not like the Tenpenny dilemma :nope: More like, on the one hand there is a squad of serious buttkickers, and they come wearing Power Armored size 12s to kick with. This is good when the Raiders launch yet another attack, but the rest of the time they just stick their nose in everyones business and hamper the flow of market economics on board. Which is again good, if you're port authority and charged with collecting the taxation on board..
With the scarcity of energy weapons as well they might come across as over powering.
Then the chart points to (yes, I'm doing this paper in hand..) BoS boot recruits, just outta training, don't get PA yet just combat Armor with a BoS logo and a really swell berret :D
This sweeps around and points to Bishop of War and his security troops.
Bishop has history with the Brotherhood -hens the armor, and most likely had a rank of outstanding title within the BoS -hens the name

There could be some valued interaction between the pirates and Outcast/Talon since they still have what amounts to a serviceable carrier with operational airwings on board
as well as the shore raiders with slavers
I was expecting to have a kind of "ship based Talon" group among the Pirates as a form of special ops pirates since Talon will take any contract, pirating would be a natural progression from them

The Enclave would nuke everything from orbit, most likely. Or come in hard with vertibirds, take control of both ships, slaughter everyone, an salvage anything useful before doing the afore mentioned: nuking the whole thing from orbit. Or at least thats where the chart points to atm.

Remember my FO_lore is somewhat sketchy and so doing an accurate weighing of the different variables can be off by.., a lot, actually. Which is why I'm following the DLCs closely, to see it there is anything I'm missing.
If I'm missing anything, please lighten the burden of my ignorance..

Well, having looked at the monstrosity again after doing Puffy Puppy's tower, I have to wonder whether I've built myself into a corner...

This is something the Executive Producers can appreciate since they're probably wondering the same thing...
Should I break it up into more modular areas and if so, what to do with the inherent complexity of the levels as they stand (since I can't cut them up into anymore layers than I already have.., at least I don't think so.)
Meanwhile I'm going to button up the levels I have atm, including the topdeck, before continuing with the FDocean world space and ships exteriors like the barges.

I'm getting a scanner :woot: and soon all the draft drawing will be up for everyone to pour over. They should go along way in clarifying whats what, and where. And give me a chance to start organizing myself properly.
I've paid up for my domain name surplustalent.nl and .net, now all I need is the time to build a site :nope:

More as it develops :D

Hmm... Being 18 I don't have any kids but it's been several weeks since I send anything to my Oblivion mod partner so this thread reminds me...

*Creates backup*

I have tons of older backups everywhere too. I've never needed to restore any yet, but I guess those things never happen when you expect them to. Good luck with the mod. :)

Well, there's an update.

I went and got an all in one printer/scanner from CANNON -because I'm ex-military and it sounds shooty :) (It's also marked up as a good brand for mid range consumer printers accordingly..)
Also, I figured laying down 50-80 bucks shouldn't be a problem -he says eye-ing the load he hauled away from Games workshop beginning of the week (I really went nuts, didn't I? :embarrass: )

and I get this:
error code 2,155,0 only runs under XP

now I have to convince the shop owner to take the damn thing back :(
Luckily, I can be persuasive :) (I also have consumer law on my side, the restriction wasn't displayed anywhere on the box or in the ad)

++++++++

As for the ship:
things to do for next upload:
add some way of getting to the ship ingame. no clue yet as to how. I'm thinking just a doorway that connects to a "empty" doorway on board for the moment.
If I get that far then I'll also add portal doorways to all of the parts, the pirate carrier, top deck and levels 06 and 07
I just have to relocated the correct tutorials..

I'm having trouble with the Brownstones on level 06. Not that they're ugly, but they just don't seem to fit the ambiance, the mood. Any suggestions? I was looking at the Pitt building pieces for maybe making an apartment block out of that instead..

also running into design walls with the front bow section of levels 06 and topdeck aka Little Italy. It's suppose to be this Naples-esk multi level rats warren of alleyways that go up to the topdeck from level 06. just feeling uninspired, is all.

Once I get the scanner replaced I might take a small break and redo some of the drafts, post them and see if I can jog the creative juices into flowing some more....
It's also gonna be really nice weather next week so...

Acolyte's gone for awhile, scouting out a new place for us all to live.
Yes, we have to move. My little munchkin cottage has been deemed an illegal residence only suited for temporary housing (summer cottage), not permanent occupation.
I told them that it wasn't permanent, and that I'm looking for something else (it's a small island) and that worked fine, last time. Unfortunately there's a new zoning sheriff in town who isn't as lenient, and so me, my son and Acky are now on the shortlist to move out..
So the next update might be coming to you "Live from a wifi connection under a bridge somewhere"
We'll see, I'm not worried :)

Fixed. :hehe:

Anyway, I suggest getting a light house as next domicile. I'm sure the wee one would appreciate it. ;)

Not a good place to keep all of your backups, put them on a disk or something.

Oh jeez, this is not nice... are you a "I told you so, kind of person?"

update thingy incase anyone is wondering..

Wow, nice weather we're having :) So climbing into my geck takes a little effort..
Anyway, it was mentioned by the executive staff that the starboard side brown stone building look outta place
I agree,
they're gone.
The whole side.
That was the easy part...
I'm now fiddling around with the appartment block kit pieces from the Pitt, and it looks better I think.. Still a lot of work to do but I'll post pics sometime this week..
As for buttoning up the levels..., still doing that :D

Now that the boat's coming together I understand what kind of design your going for. A ship with iconic buildings from new york (It's new york right?) is genius! :)
