How about a Point Lookout style arrival to the Dutchman, maybe hitching a ride on a supply boat out to it. You could either add extra options at the PL steamer or just use one of the larger scenery vessels that are scattered throughout the map as a supply boat and have it leave from another area of the map.
You could then do similar to PL where the view scans the shoreline on your first arrival but this time it would survey the Dutchman's exterior as you approach.
Maybe have the mission start as the premise of the supply vessel needing armed protection while it heads out from the wasteland, the reward being access to the Dutchman while the supply boat refuels and trades goods. Possibly doing some errands for the supply vessel's skipper to earn you free passage to and from the Dutchman at later dates.
That would be a good idea, but won't be implemented until the GotY comes out.. since I'm gonna need the resources for it... until then it'll be a simple "hey, lookit th' cute boat" and cut to standing on the landing of the Flying Dutchman. Currently the boat will be moored at the pier where the old lady sits outside.. -forgot the name for a sec
wih a guy on board that you barter a trip with. Later on I do want to add options.
