Velandris stopped as he saw the light arrowscome completely out out of nowhere then looked ahead at the group. Soon the captain yelled out calling the ambush and ordering to attack. He quickly perched an arrow on his bow and lined it up with his arm taking careful aim. He spotted his target wich had made it way behind the squad and let go of the arrow. With a quick snap as the string flung the arrow making it speed twards its target it hit the argonian straight in the back making it fall forward. "Damnit I knew it was too good to be true" He muttered and quickly grabbed another arrow from his quiver and perched it in linement on the string and pulling it back and notched it at another argonian with a minorly successful hit on its arm.

He began to take another arrow untill another one of the reptilian enemies came at him from the side from the lush darkened bushes. Velandris had no choice but to drop his bow and ready his swordsand quickly parried its first attack nocking its small short blade to the side and bringing his right sword to stab at its gut. With success the enemy fell to the ground and Velandris hurried to grab his bow placing it inside the quiver and went to join the grouped squad to help fight off the suprise attack. But When he looked to the right seeing Mathew now rolling on the ground after slaying one of the argonians A rush went threw his head. "[censored] we already have a wounded. Should I go help him or finish off the defence." He shook his head violently and sheathed his swords and again braught out his bow along with an arrow placed between his index and middle fingers.

He perched it on his bow and again notched an arrow at one of the reptiles and glanced back at Matthew making sure there were no argonian trying to take him out while he was down. and at a quick glance back at the squad he had seen his captain covered in blood clutching his arm. He had his first panicing moment with the thought We're going to die. In his head. But he quickly snapped the thoughts out of his mind and looked back at matthew and pointed his bow in the same direction releasing the arrow hitting another Argonian hitting it directly in the chest nocking it back and fellign it to the ground away from matthew. It was a sure sudden rush of adrinalin running threw his body as he wipped into a minor rage as he stood there trying to blend into the dark and notching arrows at the scaly man beasts.

Fanier looked around him, but he couldn't see more than five feet in front of him. The argonians seemed distracted with the rest of the squad right now, so he knelt down, grabbed Matt's face, and pointed it toward his own.

"Listen to me," he began. "Are you here soldier? I need a night-eye spell, NOW! Or else we're both dead!" He let go of Matt and faced the darkness around him, pointing his bow at whatever made a sound that stood out among the fray.

Another moment and Fanier was on the ground, a large Argonian on top of him, attempting to claw at his heart. Fanier's bow and arrow were on the floor a foot away from him.

AAAAARRRGHHH!" Fanier yelled in pain as the Argonian slowly and painfully drew its claw diagonally across his chest. Fanier grabbed the arrow from the ground, mustered all of his strength, and drove it through the Argonian's eye, coming out on the other side of its skull. The argonian fell limp as Fanier pushed it off of him and stood up.

"Where's that spell?" he yelled at Matt.

Through the blood and pain, Matthew could see Fanier, bow and arrow in hand, prowling around him. A surge of guilt pursed threw Matthew, knowing that Fanier would lay down his own life to defend a wounded man, that couldn't do something. If Matthew were to do something in this battle, he would have too get these splinters out of his eye and face first.

Easier said then done. As quickly as he could, he began to yank the splinters out, screaming at every tug as pain raced through his face. Even with the majority of them out, he still could not see out his left eye, and with the blood over his right eye, vision was seriously impared. He held his left hand over his eyes, and using his right hand, rumaged through his pack, grabbing a scroll and bringing it close to his face.

Not that one...Not that one...not that one!...Damn! how a medic couldn't find medical spells was beyond him. He continued to search, almost letting out asnicker as he found the designated spell. He took his left hand off of his wounded face, and more blood poured out as he relayed the spell. He tried to cast it, but his hands were shaking to much. Again and again he tried to cast it, but he failed. Blood now covered his right eye and the pain was everywhere in him now.

Through the fray of the battle, he continued to try to cast the spell, unsuccesful eachtime. It only encouraged him more. Having one man lay his life down for his injuries didn't seem fair, and he wouldn't see jutice until he was up, fighting beside Fanier

Suddenly, Fanier grabbed him. Shaking Matthew, he asked for a night-eye spell. Matthews short term memory kicked in, as he threw a scroll that he had mistaken for a healing scroll, that was on the ground, towards Fanier as he slew an Argonian.

[ooc: Well it is Friday here, pretty much...11:55..so, ima get off, read for an hour, then head her off to bed. Nighty night! I do not have school tommorrow..er...today. So I will be posting and such not and not such. So, good ni- day!]

Fanier caught the scroll flung to him by Matt, nodding back to him in appreciation. Opening the scroll, he brought it up to his face, and read the incantation. Suddenly Fanier's field of vision became completely bright purple, allowing him to see everything around him.

He looked around. Fara seemed to be faring well despite the conflict. The Lieutenant was nowhere to be seen. But, about thirty feet away, the captain was down, kneeling against a tree. A large argonian rushed toward Prescott.

Fanier aimed, and shot. The arrow fell a little more that expected, piercing the argonian's left leg, bringing him to the ground. Fanier let loose another arrow, this time rending through its chest. He felt a twinge of satisfaction as he scanned the area, taking shots at any hostiles he could see.

OOC: I'm done for today. It's 1:10 A.M. here, I'm going to bed. cya later

Like a spider Zared wrapped his legs around the branch, flipped down grabbed an argonian by the throat and pulled him up snapping his neck and dropping him, flipping back up onto his feet on said branch,. Being a spell sword from training he armed a spell, "Tiesta Atoris!" he spoke in Ta'agra two rings of fire engulfing two Argonians in a searing flame. An arrow shot out from another argonian the arrow whizzing past Zared as he dropped to the ground drawing his sword out and with a finesse strike decapitated an argonian. Seeing as noone here had the ability to see in the night, Zared readied a spell "Eye cover!" he shouted so the others would cover their eyes as his light spell, a sudden blast of light illuminated the forest like a very bright flare.

As the ambush evolved Fara noted the melee seemd to turn in the squad's favor, with about half a dozen argonians out of the fight - thought the captain and one soldiers seemed out too. She quickened her shooting, moving a bit all the while, doing her best to make the argonians feel like at least three archers were taking them in enfilade.

That's when the Lieutenant showed up - or rather down - from his tree. Damn he's good. If I ever have an absolute need to argue with him, that'll be from serious cover, two hundred yards in his back and with the nastiest poison I can get my hands on over the arrows.

As the light spell improved her vision, she noticed the two burned argonians getting up and back into the fight despite their injuries. Using fire spells on some mud-caked lizards isn't such a great idea. Just plain health-svcking magic would be better. She was aiming at them whe she heard a rustling of leaves in her back. Jumping aside, she barely dodged something heavy swinging where her head had been.

As she faced the attack, Fara saw the biggest argonian she had ever seen, an hulking brute about seven feets high, built like he could uproot a three. And rushing forward while arming a second swing of a treetrunk-sized maul, improved with a bunch of mean-looking toothes and claws, accompanying the swing with a remarkably loud warcry.

Oh s..t ! was all Fara could think before letting her arrow fly toward the brute as fast as she could, without aiming, desperately trying to wriggle her way out of the maul's path. The weapon was too long to let her get away, hitting on her side and sending Fara sprawling on hte ground, half knocked out. As she shook her head to try clearing her vision, expecting the maul to hit her head next, she instead heard the argonian trashing on he ground.

Apparently the luck brought by being born under the Thief's stars had been with her, as the loosely aimed arrow had flown straight into the brute's open mouth, going all the way into his brain - something a straight headshot might not have managed. Fara staggered on her feets, her left side painfully sore from the blow, but her armor had held and stopped the spikes. Ouch. And that big bastard was already dead when the club hit me. He would have broken me in two otherwise. Fara, you really need to brush up on your close combat skills.

Aravey quickly took some steps back, as his melee combat really svcks. Finally he got to use his powers in fire to burn some lizards, a quite normal sized argonian with a spear approached Aravey, he drew his dagger and quickly threw it at the argonian, it got hit in the chest, however not that far in. The argonian stumbled backwards while groaning, before the Argonian knew it Aravey had casted a Fire Bolt straight at him.

Luckily for Aravey the Argonian was wearing leather, wich burns quite well. His armor got sat on fire, Aravey beeing quite proud of himself due to not getting hit, the argonian suddenly wildly sliced his spear towards Aravey, without time to react because of the random slice he got a light wound on the arm, the argonian fell to the ground, and Aravey pulled his bloody dagger out. The wound on his arm bleed quite well, he held a strong grip around his dagger, breathing carefully keeping his eye up for his next target.

Velandris' luck of staying out of the way from the enemy' sight went down the hole when Zared light up the battle with a light spell. "Oh by the love of azura!" He jestured as he was somewhat blinded. He quickly took his ring off his finger and dropped it into his bag. He turned his head then to footsteps of a argonion running at him from the side with a spear at hand. He quickly reached his hand up to his quiver feeling only one arrow left he spat out a minor curse and dropped his bow and unsheathed his swords. The spear was forced forward at hin rather suddenly he had time to move to the side but the spear cuth threw his arm mail and giving a nice sized gash. A burning sensation went threw his whole arm stinging painfully. His eyes watered , soon the argonian attacked again thrustign the spear at his chest. Velandris crossed his swords pulling them upwards pushing the spear away and then with a wild swing with his right he broke the spear tip and thrusted his left slicing into the argonian side and stabbign with his right into the beasts stomach. The argonian yelled in pain and with one finaly slice of his left blade he made an open gash from the argonians stomach and it fel.

He fell to his kness holding his right arm as tears fell from his eyes. "P..poison." He murmured. Blood ran down his arm covering his Chainmail dripping from his fingers. He rumeged threw his bag trying to look for any ingredients he could use to take the pain away and possibly stop the poison. He found nothing but his own poisonous ingredients and he slamed his fist int othe ground. "[censored]!" How he was so unprepared for poisons was beyond him. The pain slowly faded away and he forced himself to his feet pulling his other blade from the corpse of his fallen foe and sheathed it. He would have to use his left arm, mainly his most defencive arm. He looked around making sure nto another argonian was going to pop out and he moved along to group with the squad, atleast he would be better to help fight one then being faught alone crippled and being cleaved.

Now Matthew couldn't see at all. He knew exactly what he was doing though. His face became a dull ache as he finally succeded in casting his spell. As the battle raged on, he had to sit a moment for vision to return to his right eye.

He saw around 8 or so dead argonians, lying sprawled throughout the area. Where was his sword though? As he made to get up, one Argonian turned to face him. Matthew had to act quickly, as the Argonian began to run for him. The only weapon in reach was the bow of the Argonian that had shot at him.

Matthew grabbed it just as the Argonian went to stab him. The Argonians hand went straight between the bows wood and string, and as Matthew pulled up, the Argonian dropped his dirk. It became a battle of tooth and hand, as Matthew struggled with the Argonian. The fell to the ground, and Matthew twisted around so he was on the Argonians back. He shoved the Argonians head between the wood and string, and pulled up. The Argonian began to make gurgling sounds as his wind pipe was cut off by the string. He flailed his arms widly, and caught Matthew in the gut with an elbow. Matthew had the wind knocked out of him, as he stumbled off of the Argonian. Now, the Argonian was up on his knee's, looking for a weapon. As he reached for his dirk, Matthew gave him a whap over the head with the bow, stunning him just long enough for Matthew to grab the Dirk from his hands, and stab the Argonian right under the ribs.

The Argonian paused for a moment, screeching in pain before wrapping his hands around Matthews neck. Matthew drove the dirk deep into the Argonians right arm, and the Argonian let go. Nursing his right with his left, he knee'd Matthew in the gut and sent the dirk fallign from his grasp. The Argonian grabbed it, and made dive for Matthew. Matthew grabbed the Argonians arm, and turned it in the nick of time. The blade jsut simply nicked him as the Argonian bowled over, right into a tree. Before the Argonian could react, Matthew was upon him, with dirk in hand, Getting ready to stab down at his foe. Sudden;y, Matt found himself flying threw the air as another Argonian came to the aid of his comrade.

Not that it mattered. As Matthew landed, his right hand felt the hilt of his sword. The familar cold touch of the leatcher met his palms as he gripped the sword in his right hand, and the dirk in his left. A stray Argonian arrow, no doubt intended for him, nailed the Argonian that had knocked him over right in the head. The Argonian dropped his sword, and his comrade grabbed it. Before long, Matthew, and the Argonian he had been struggling with for so long now, were locked in a sword duel.

The Argonian moved quicck, thrusting out at Matthew with everything he had. Matthew, while having two weopens, still had a disadvantage. He could not see out of his left eye, and blood was once again begining to cover his right eye. As the Argonian parried one of Matthews blows, and pushed him back, Matthew hucked the dirk in the Argonians direction.

The blade buried itself deep in the Argonians stomach, as Matthew let out a scream and ran to the Argonian, running him threw with his blade. The Argonian toppled over in a heap.

Matthew slumped against a tree, lost for breath, and knee's buckling. Finnally, he fainted.

Fanier, picking off a few argonians with his bow, looked back at Matthew. There he was, lying on the ground, unmoving. "Oh, sh*t," he murmered to himself, as he ran to Matt.

Fanier felt Matt's throat for a pulse, and surely enough, he felt the throbbing of his heart. "Alright, Matt, let's get you out of here," he said to him as he threw Matt over his shoulder. Oh, he's a heavy one, Fanier thought as he grunted in effort. [censored] chainmail, just adding to the dead weight.

He carried Matt to where Captain Prescott was still waiting, and put him down. "There you go." He told him, then sarcastically added to his unconscious comrade, "Don't move, now." He turned around and ran into the fray.

A humongous argonian tackled Fanier from behind, bringing them both to the groud. The argonian was weaponless, but slashed at Fanier's face with his claws, managing to cut a decent gash through his cheek. The argonian proceeded to throttle Fanier by the throat, nearly suffocating him.

The argonian's eyes left Fanier's face, and turned to his amulet. He smiled as he ripped the golden amulet from Fanier's neck.

In those few seconds, time slowed down for Fanier. He could only watch as the argonian tore his most sacred item from him. Time went back to normal as his eyes filled with the epitome of rage ever shown by Fanier. With a sharp knee to the groin, Fanier knocked the argonian off of him. He went on to deliver a hard kick in the jaw. He grabbed the stunned argonian by his head, picked up his sword, and slowly sliced open the argonian's throat. He stared at the argonian, and watched as the life left his eyes.

OOC : Gosh darn it....I get back after four day's of inactivity and now I have to go away on camp for 4 day's again! That being said Ill make it less abrupt then last time and explain reason's for my absence better . I'll keep RPing through the day today though .

IC :

Prescott was losing blood , bad . He had underestimated the deepness of the wound as it had obviously struck him quite hard indeed . He could only hold the wound as strong as he could , although he was about as strong as someone who had just gotten up in the morning . His own blood mixed with his opponent's , setting into the crack's of his armor and clotted , making his beautiful golden armor have disgusting cursive red pattern .

This wound wouldn't make him last long , in this bad weather , with all this disease , an open wound was not a good thing to have . It could turn gangrenous , become infected , or he might fall victim to the cold . He just hoped he wouldn't catch the infamous Black Marsh "Swamp Fever"

"MEDIC!" he shouted with all his strength .

And just like that Matthew arrived , although not in the way Prescott had wanted . Fanier set the fainted man down by Prescott , blood trickling from his face . Prescott couldn't do anything but hold the unconcious Corporal tight , caressing his head .

"It's going to be alright Corporal....It's going to be alright . We are going to survive , and we will make it . We will win this war , and we will enjoy the fruit of our labour with a new emperor who will lead Cyrodiil back to it's initial glory"

He seemed to be reassuring himself more as he stroked the man's head as if he were his own child . He had become quite attached to his squad and seeing them like this broke his heart .

Still , with the death count in the squads favour , the argonians began to retreat .

Pvt. Jim Shaw felt like everything around his was being put into a giant soup and being stirred by a maniac. moments ago, he was fighting an argonian scout with a dagger to his throat. He saw death in the argonians enraged eyes. but, miraculously, another squadmember stabbed the argonian, and Shaw once again narrowly avoided death. You know that you can't always be lucky, Jimmy. You have to remember not to push your blasted luck he remember his father once told him. Yeah Dad, Jim thought, I can try to avoid these bad things, but why can't they avoid me?

He really did not want to be here. He wished he was back in Cyrodill, where the grass was green and the sun shined on his face. and wendy was there, too...

He loved Wendy. The last time he had seen her still hung in his head, a persistent memory. He remembered how her thin, beautiful face seemed pale at the idea of him leaving, and how her small lips were curved down in a frown of dismay.

"Jimmy... Don't go! Please, stay..." She said, as her blue eyes watered with tears.

Shaw couldn't bear to look at her. He couldn't see the woman he loved looking like this. Why do I have to go? Why me? Shaw thought.

Jim stroked Wendy's dark brown, short hair with his hand, "i can't stay, the gaurd will arrest me. I'll go to jail."

Wendy looked up at him, tears now freely running down her sheek onto her blue dress, "Jail is better than where they're sending you!" She exclaimed as she threw her arms around him, sobbing uncontrollably.

Shaw shook his head, returning to reality, and sunk to the muddy ground. The adrenaline was wearing away now, and now what Wendy had said rang in his mind like an Iorn bell.

Jail is better than where they're sending you, Jimmy! Sadly, she was right.

As the dead argonian hit the floor, Fanier kneeled down to reclaim his amulet from his assailiant's cold, dead fingers. He looked back at Prescott. He just sat there, holding the unconscious corporal. Fanier ran to help.

He closely examined Prescott's wound. "Very bad, you're bleeding really heavily. Here," he said as he tore off a piece of the flannel shirt under his chainmail. Fanier tied it tightly around the wound, constricting the blood flow. "There you go, that should stop the bleeding for now. It will need stitches, though. If you want, I could radio HQ and ask for a medical supply drop." He finished tightening the makeshift tourniquet and waited for an answer.

The sound of battle was quickly fading , the clashing and clinking of weapons , the battle cry's of both ally and foe , the sound of quick paced-movement , had all but dissapeared . The sounds of the night jungle began to reclaim the land , the night sky teeming with sounds of all sorts of marsh land creatures .

"It's quite alright Fanier....Im....Im fine" Prescott managed to say in a somehwat hoarse tone . In reality he felt like death , he couldn't feel his arm and his face had gone from a healthy pink colour to bone white . he was covered in sweat and there were massive black sac's under his eyes . He could feel himself passing out but managed to hold it in . He didn't want the squad getting worried or stressed .

He was in the middle of a strange arrangement .On his left leant Corporal Matt , unconcious and brutalised . On his right , leant the corpse of an argonian warrior , half his face missing and very much dead . He was still leaking blood all over Prescott , but he was too weak to care .

"I..I don't need any help , so as an order , please leave me be . Corporal Matt however will need to be looked after thoroughly . Tell the squad to treat the wounded and to salvage the dead . We will rest a while , but not too long . I don't want any swampland animals catching the scent of blood....."

OOC: I agree, Blue Oyster Cult rocks.

IC: Fanier nodded. "Yes, Captain," he complied. "The rest of us, like Matt, will need that supply drop, though." He walked away to find everyone's situation. He walked over and around the piles of dead argonians, looking for survivors, while relaying a message to HQ.

"Recon Squadron sixteen to HQ, requesting a medical supply drop at coordinates fourty-four degrees east, thirty-eight point nine degrees south, over." He repeated the message several times into the headset. After about eight tries they responded.

"Recon Squadron sixteen, this is HQ, sending the supply drop to your approximate position, ETA ten minutes."
"Thanks HQ, over and out." Fanier removed his headset and found Shaw. "Private Shaw, I need you to round up the squad and tell them to meet by Captain Prescott, ASAP."

The battle had ceased and Velandris had barely any strength left in him for fighting. The poison had ran threw him making him dizy. He looked dow nat his blood soaked hands and the pain in his right arm came back. A sharp stinging sensation made it almost impossible for him to stand. He again fel to his knees dropping his left hand sword and grasped at the wound. He looked around seeing the corpses of the attackers. All black scaled man beasts wich glew faintly in the moonlight. He turned his head more and he saw his bow, only a few inches away. He struggled to his feet using what was left of his strength and retreived the bow and nesteling it in his quiver. He turned to the squad and clutched his wound again and slowly walked over and sat right near Matthew who was passed out on the ground by Prescott.

"w...What a rush, Eh captain?" He said forcing a smile on his face.

"Indeed it was... Corporal , it looks like many of us are...are wounded ....however"

Prescott could feel himself falling away into that bleak blank unconciousness . There was no point trying to fight it , he barely had enough strength to move his un-wounded arm and speak . He had even lost the strength to blink .

He unhooked the clasp on his belt and drew forth his canteen . He loosened the cap , biting it off , and sloshed all the water over his face . Trying to clean off all the blood . He groaned , as his injuries had reminded him just how much he hated the war . He hated to see men die , he hated all the unnecessary pain , and he hated being away from his homeland .

Here he was , in the dark , almost dying , with a nasty wound in a hostile land he was a stranger to . It made him think of all the other men who lost their lives . Brave soldiers who died in fear and uncomfort . Only one thought flew through his mind .

What a nasty way to go.

Zared panted slightly, making a low growl as the last of the argonians were cut down look8ing over at the radio man he sighed thinking something very harsh to say. Slowly he made his way to prescott, noting the injuries he knelt down and studied them quickly. The rain had subsided enough for him to pull out his medical pack. Not much of a magical healer he was however an able medic in the area of physical treatment. Reading his healing spell, a small weak one which he could cast a few times, Zared placed one black furred hand on the captains injury, working his mind out from aggression to a place of calmness, he closed his eyes, imagining a field, Savannah with long golden grasses, large trees in it. Relaxing his body he began muttering the soft spell, Ta'agra was the language of his spells. Zared's paw began to glow a little blue from the very weak healing spell as it began to do its work. Of course it was nothing compared to a properly trained healer.

As the argonian assault faltered, then turned into a rout, Fara gathered her will to move despite the pain, pulling out hershortsword. As one of them ran next to her, she struck, low blow that sliced through the knee, sending the argonians sprawlng in the mud. Dropping on his back, Fara finished the job by slicing his throat, grimacing from the pain in her side. Looks like it's over. But it's a safe bzt the bastards will run to their pals screaming murder. We must move, the sooner the better. But first sort out the mess.

As she moved back to the squad, Fara moved to the cpatain and lieutenant. From the look of his wound and face, the captain would probably survive teh shcock and blood loss. But probably be out of cmomission for a while.
"Seems you're the man in charge for now lieutenant. So what's the menu ? I'd favor sorting the squad and patching what can be patched, then keep heading for the cave. No way we're fit for patrolling without serious healing."

OOC : Last post for another 4 day's . Zared and Fara are in charge for the time being , and have all the abilities that come with such a position . Heres a fitting send-off for now .

IC :

Prescott gasped , partly in relief , partly in pain , as the healing spell was cast upon him . He could feel the milky , luminescent magicka flowing through his wound , sterilising it and cleansing it . The wound , however clean , was still however gaping open , and Prescott had still lost too much blood .

With his final remaining strength the crippled captain signalled for the Khajiit Lieutenant to listen closely .

"Im...Im going t..to faint . D..don't leave me behi..ind . Load m..e up..p on a stretch...er . D...don't let me die"

He was losing energy fast , he looked at his men with hope before turning back to the khajiit .

"These are...g..good peo..ple . You and Fa...ra..a look after them...m..make sure th...they are h...healed and s..s...sssstrong . Th..thank you ."

Prescott eyes began closing , he coughed up a little blood before wiping it off his face . He then slumped over , unconcious . And as his brain shut down , his last thought's were that of hope . Hope that Zared and Fara would lead the squad to the cave and make them safe .

Aravey wanders over to the Captain, having his dagger sheated and a piece of cloth around his arm, it's slightly red and he peers at the Captain. Then up at the Lieutenant "What are you're orders, sir?" He said. " We should find a place to rest and heal the wounded as fast as possible." He added, still keeping his eyes at the Lieutenant.

OOC: Yes, Blue Oyster cult is the greatest band ever, in my opinion

IC: If Jim felt helpless before, watching the captain die made him feel even worse. Now they had lost their leader! Sure, there was Zared and Fara, but... he couldn't find words to describe it.

He knelt down, and almost began to hyperventilate. No, Shaw, this is the last place you want t hyperventilate. Breath in too much poison, even your vent mask won't save that much toxins at once. He got a hold of himself, and stood up. He saluted the lieutenants and asked, "Should we bury him, Lieutenant?"

The pain had stopped and the poisons effect had warn off. Velandris got to his feet slowly with a bit of a grin. "Well.. with that said from the capatain. Where too fluff ball?" He forced a smile on his face, trying to brighten the squads night trying to put in some humor. He then remembered his wound and puleld his cloak out of his bag and ripped the bottom wrappingthe cloth around the gash that had slowed bleeding. "Would like a place where we can all sit and cure up. And maybe soem of us can restock on arrows?" He turned his head remembering the one left in his quiver.

As Jim asked about burying the captain, Fara smiled "Don't bury him that fast. He's just knocked out from the shock and loss of blood. If we can keep his wound from getting infected he's going to make it. Of course we'll need a stretcher... We can make some with straight branches and leather from the few lizards who had armor.

But each thing in due time. First whoever is trained in first id should patch the wounded. Those who are neither medic nor wounded should search the bodies and the battlefield for arrows and any usefull supplies. Then we make the stretchers and we leave for the cave we were headed first. With only one way in it should be defensible even with only half the squad fit for combat."

Facing Zared she inquired "That's my take on what we should do - you're the top ranker here, is my take on how best go to the cave sound or shall I change something ?"
