first i would like to pint out the specific bugs.

All "traveling merchants" are bugged, not "traveling doctor" just the merchants. every action you take with them ether it be talking or playing a game of caravan it hard freezes.

The weathered 10mm laser pointer breaks the entire screen and the gun can't be used anymore.

Now my main reason for my post. All the hard freezing is corrupting my ps3 and now dragon age, fallout 3 and now COD: BLACK OPS isn't rendering properly... bad Bethesda... i giving you 80 bucks and you break my 300 dollar toy?

I agree, 2 hours playing = 3, 4 times restarting my console.
Game is unplayable on my PS3.
Job well done Bethesda! :brokencomputer:

Yup, I totally agree.

I'm getting incredibly ANGRY at the fact that in the space of one minute,
yes one minute I have crashed twice.

I am vowing to myself that if they ever release another game I'm not buying it.

And just to get a little back at this pitiful attempt at programming, I will tell all my friends not to buy this or any game from you, now, or ever.

I don't care if the little man won't make a difference, I'm saving myself and friends probably a total of £300-400 worth of gaming - we inform each other quite a lot.
Also, if I find my 1 month old PS3 slim YLOD because I keep resetting it because you [censor] your job up, I will not relent in getting compensation, I am that determined.

I think people should write amazon reviews. They are read by a lot of people, in contrast to this subforum which probably is read mostly by others who already have bought the game and have the same problem themselves.

Dragon Age is F'd up for you? And Fallout 3? I have both of those and now you make me wonder if all the hard resets are gonna mess up my other games...hmm,that would rather piss me off...well,it won't matter anyway. My system will soon flash the YLOD and die in horrible agonizing pain from F:NV anyway from the constant freezing.Maybe I should take my PS3 to the veteranarian now and have it euthanized before it's pain gets too great...THANKS gamesas/Obsidian...

This game killed my console last night, got hard freeze, then black screen followed by 3 beeps & flashing red light.
Now when i try to turn my PS3 on i get the usual blue green light, followed by single yellow flash & red flashing after.
I'll be getting a new console & i won't playing any Bethesda games on it

I guess I should stop playing for now. I don't really feel like buying another PS3 if this can actually break it, though if i had to buy something new I'd probably buy a XBox at this point.

If you`r PS3 is getting a red flashing light that usually means it`s overheated and you need to get it serviced (cleaned ect..)too run right again,Ps3 get very dusty and the laser`s in them tend too be over hard working and can run off track (so to speak). This is most case I see when people bring em into my work shop.I will say this once ok- N.V-(BD-Game),would not destroy the console!,But in rare case`s could course laser out of aliment or corrupt HDD,Other wise Its not possible too cook the ps3 over a glitchy game..,For instance..If you have a DVD player,And you put a scratched/glitch- DVD in the player ,Would that stuff it? Please you do the maths.Just Do Not play the game in till the new patches are available.

Console was stripped down, had new laser & HDD (160GB) fitted only 2 months ago, i tried fitting the old HDD to see if that was the problem, but no luck

Your misconstruing our points, it is not that the software is exceeding the capabilities of the PS3 hardware, it is the fact that the game constantly crashes and freezes requiring a hard-reset which is not a good thing for consoles, at least PS3s.

EDIT:
Just Do Not play the game in till the new patches are available.

This is the worst, yet ironically the best advice for this game.

Therein, as the bard would say, lies the rub.

Are you resetting by flicking off the power then flicking it back on again? If so, don't. Hold down the power button on the front long enough, and the BIOS will take over, terminate Fallout and shut the PS3 down safely. There should be no ill effects to doing it that way.

For resetting what I do is push the power button, let it switch itself off then I push the power button and switch it back on. Is this okay, I shouldn't really be having to reset the thing anyway but... One of my friends said he holds the PS button on the controller but I do not know what that even does, especially during crashes/freezes.

The freezing completely svcks.

Oblivion GOTY Edtion crashed while I tried to save or get out of places on the Shivering Isles.

Fallout 3 GOTY Editon crashed horribly often especially in the "bonus areas"

And now FNV is crashing again? I don't know why. gamesas should have learned someting about this well known bug but they didn't. If they are not going to fix this FNV is the last game I bought that is done by gamesas.

I'm not complaining about small bugs like turning heads or stuff but this bug shouldn't be there at all anymore.

Dude think about what you're saying. It's not FNV, it's your ps3. Pressing the power button off your ps3 will not corrupt your console. So many different factors into this: over heating, did it get wet, previous long continuous play, how old is your ps3, have you ever dropped it, has your kids (if any) get to it, FCC rule etc... You can't blame Bethesda (Obsidian really), or anyone because over extended use of you ps3.If you got a warranty use it.

If the worst does happen send me a message Reno,
if this game breaks my loyal system of....(when did the first 80g PS3 hit the shelves?).... anyway a long time and i have not so much had a single screen tear or hick up on any of my PS3 games(enough to fill 4 Foot Lockers to the brim) i will be out for blood,

Before any trolls chime in
do i expect the game to work 100% perfectly? ofcourse not, it would be nice but there is bound to be a bug or 2 along the way
do i expect the game i buy to be playable? YES I DO
do i expect the game i buy to not destroy or damage my system? YES why would i buy anything that could destroy or damage my more expensive items?

Well that's it I'm done with this game. I was exploring vault 22 and my PS frozen (one of many many times that it has froze on this game), turned off my PS yet again and now it won't restart. I get the blinking red light, but my PS is not over heated at all. I can't even hold the button done to get to the safe start menu, it just automatical shuts off. So I'm done with this game and will proble never buy another game from them again. I hope I can get it fixxed, since it was one of the first PS 3 released that is backward compabilte. If not I guess I will have to buy a new one and get anopther new PS 2 so I can still play some of my fav PS 2 games still. Thanks again and good bye forever.

Well I spent the morning calling around to see about trying to getting my PS3 and I have come to the decision that it would be cheaper to get go buy a new one, since I still need to upgrade my hard drive (60GB model), and that’s if it can even be fixed. So I went to Wal-Mart and got a new PS3 and then took my FNV to game stop where my wife had pre-ordered it for me for my birthday and the clerk behind the counter would only give me trade in value for it. So I traded it in and got Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Now I’m sitting here reloading all of my games back onto my new PS3 and downloading all of my previous dlc. I’m so upset right now, that will never buy another game for this company again and I have already cancelled my pre-order of Hunted Demons Forge. I think it is funny that I did some searching on these forums and found another user who’s PS3 locked in the exact same area and his PS3 crashed also, so to say the game has nothing to do with our systems crashing is ridiculous. Go ahead and lock this tread, delete my account, I don’t care because I will never need an account again since I will never be buying a game for your company again. Since I have lots of time on my hands I guess I will see if there are any web sites to report this kind of bad product.

I'm getting a blue screen 50% of the time I turn my PS3 on now. I've never had any problems with it before.
How the hell could you release this game in its current state? I might have to get a new PS3 because of this
game.
