So, as I understood it, the New California Republic is meant to reflect United States' western expansion into the frontier -- down to the massacre of primitive tribals like the Khans, cowpokes ranging the prairie, and tough-as-nails rangers rarely seen. But, of course, rather than natives and Mexicans, the NCR faces Vegasites, Mutants, and a Roman Empire expy. However, I must say that I would have much rather seen more NCR interaction with tribals. Rather than playful hints, a story that is exactly a Frontier story, just with settings shifted to the Post-Apocalyptic U.S.

Give us more tribals across the cliffs and valleys of the South-West. Give us angry cowpokes, salloons, duels, and the semblance of Civilization cast over a "Wild West." I would have liked characters like a Custer threatening to civilize the Mojave/South West. Perhaps I've missed it, but the most I got was the Salloon in Boulder City. Did any of you see anything? Would you like to se more? Any ideas of your own in the Fallout-setting for NCR v. Tribal fun?

The tribes the Legion took over were so primitive that a couple of FoTA managed to take them over and form the Legion. So one can only imagine how easy it would have been for the NCR to take them over. What with the largest military known in the Wasteland. Hell the NCR when going into the Mojave for the first time didn't expect to come across any real threats beyond tribals who don't even know which end of a gun the bullet comes out of let alone how to fire one. So it was a shock to run into the Legion. If it wasn't for the Legion the NCR would have kept on going East I guess until they enountered the MWBoS

America as a nation managed to go from East to West because all they really enountered were small tribes who were actually more knowledgeable then what the Legion encountered. For the Longest time the only thing keeping them from rapid expansion were other major if not superior powers such as France, Spain and Great Britain who were in their way.

So it would be pretty boring if the NCR just kept running into primative tribes. They would take over everything is they didn't.
