Redguards already have cannons. There was an airship in Bloodmoon. Heck, several races have already been to the moon(s) and beyond. Magic just tends to work better than most technological advances so no race really feels the need to make some things.

Dragonborn says (with machine gun in hand): "Its time to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of gum."

No, please no. We've got fallout if you want technology, eventhough tes is not your generic fantasy medieval rpg. It'll ruin the game for me.

With the exception of better methods for the distillation and application of Skooma, I don't want any new major technological advances. Magic, magicka, dwemer steam techlogogy, mananaunts and space stations? Sure. But not cars and M16s.

It will probably stay like this don't worry. This isn't CoD or Fallout.

I think you're confusing Elder Scrolls with Fable.

The future will bring more massive worlds and thousands of more quests! That is all I want.

Actually OP, and frankly, TES is going backwards than forward in many aspects specially in gameplay depth. For me, only the artistic direction is the true highlight in Skyrim.

I wouldn't be surprise if they add some sort of firearms in the future considering how AAA game companies are trying to please everybody for maximum returns. The "genre" era is becoming blur as time goes by.
