The Future according to Mr. House

I figured this would be the best place to host this discussion since it involves spoilers about an ending in FoNV.

So I completed the Mr. House ending for New Vegas. During the questline House explains to the Courier his vision for the world... an autocratic grip over what is otherwise a rather libertarian capitalist project to jump-start humanity into a futuristic destiny, overcoming post-apocalyptic squalor and reviving trade, cities, innovative technology and even space travel.

Now when you complete this storyline, the ending slideshow and narration make no mention of what the future actually holds. It simply says a clinical and depersonalized order comes to the Mohave enforced by House's unchallenged Securitrons.

So my question is, do you think that House's vision is actually attainable? I'm guessing that the House ending was not intended to be canon. It seems like it would effectively end the Fallout series if it was successful. Not to mention the questline is short, to the point and rigid. Even Caesar's storyline contains more potential variation in it than House's.

The guy managed to predict the Apocalypse almost to the day, and whipped the Strip from a bunch of tribals to something resembling its pre-war glory within four years. Yeah, he had a bunch of Secuitrons to back it up, but the Three Families are about as home in civilization as the NCR or any other non-tribal group. That's nothing to sneeze at considering they were some weird mixture of tribal raiders beforehand.

It's a safe bet that Mr. House would achieve most of his goals on-schedule (for the most part.) The only downside is that he's focused on progress at any and all costs; if you have a farmland where he needs a building, well... svcks to be you. If you're lucky, he might pay you for the land.
