The Galdur Amulet Quest bug

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:22 am

Ok so I'm a little irritated at the moment and wondered if there was anyway to fix this issue.
I started the quest awhile back and didn't hit any of these ruins before starting so the amulets should have spawned. However when I came to Geirmund's Hall and killed the guy who should have been holding the amulet, he wasn't. On top of that, the quest arrow I have is pointing at the ground in some puddle of water where I fought him. I am 2/3 pieces and thanks to the glitch I can't complete the quest and I have dead-weight in my inventory. I've checked Youtube and seen several people with the same issue. Is this a known bug by Bethesda and they're going to fix it or am I screwed?

I have all 3 and I can't go any farther.

Sounds like your final peice is stuck in the environment.

Honestly I just gave up on this one, every step of the quest seems to have issues.

Would be nice to be able to drop the damn fragments then. Half a pound each is ridiculous for a piece of trash.

For such a legendary amulet it's really not worth it, it just increases your health, stamina, and magica by a very minuscule amount. I was very disappointed when I completed that quest.

Try exiting the cave, quitting and reloading. Then reenter. I had that problem with a door that should haave been there and wasn't also another time with a bridge not appearing. As to the item weight, it is my understanding that all quest items have no weight, even though there is one listed for them. Others have tested this by removing all items (except for the unremoveable quest items) and verified their total burden was indeed zero. It still is a pain to have them listed in the inventory though. I have a flute that I have no freakin idea who it belongs to.

I think quest items weight nothing even if the weight shows in inventory.

Panatea's Flute I think is what you are referring to and it belongs to a woman at the bard college

Hmm......the amulet is pretty good for me. I'd rather take + 30 Health, Stamina, AND Magicka than just +50 Magicka. Although, +50 Magicka is pretty good, I'm a warrior. I need Health and Stamina more than Magicka.
Oh yeah, this thread is about the bug.......it didn't happen to me, so I can't help you, sorry.

It's hardly a miniscule amount. It's not huge, but it gives more than you can get until about 80 enchanting, so it's still certainly worth it.

Very disapointing quest results. How did that wimpy amulet make anybody godlike when it was whole let alone divided into 3 pieces. Why would you wear it when there are so many better amulets practically laying around in most dungeons. Not to mention the amulets you can craft. The stories surounding the 3 brothers were good and the hunt for the three pieces was acceptable but, the result was very anticlimatic.

Try hunting the animal spirits for the old man. At lvl59 that quest wasn't worth [censored], lol. Bow you get is a named longbow so worth jack squat and the spirits are all 1-hit kills, lawl.
