Is the game playable now?

Is New Vegas playable now or is it still a bug ridden, glitch filled mess? I haven't been playing the game since around June or so after the heavy lag issues at the Hoover Dam area of the game when doing a mission there. The lag was so bad that the game just died there and then and destroyed the save file.

Have they fixed that problem and other issues in the game or is it even worse? I would really like to finish the game but I am very disappointed in how bad the quality control for the game is. It never should have been released in such an unfinished, glitchy state. No game should be if it isn't receiving actual fixes to make up for it's being released before it was ready.

So is the game actually playable now and any news on any more patches, or have the patches ceased and the game has been left in an unplayable, glitchy mess that is another prime example of why rushing games should be stopped.

My experience and, it seems, the experience of many others is that since the latest title update (#5), the game is in a worse state than it ever was before, especially with the DLC. It seems the title update made the game memory incontinent and broke many other things in very random ways.

I cannot recommend getting back into NV until they release another title update. There are much better things to spend time on, such as watching someone watching paint dry. Which might be what they're doing at Obsidian.
