The game price on STEAM. BRL

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:28 pm

I'm confused because the value of the game on the steam to my region is about 2.3 times the cost of most AAA games. Most computer games here spins around 90 BRL and 130 BRL, i wish to know if this is the final price tag or a mistake, the same thing happened some time ago with MK. X.

I don't know much about the Brazilian video game market, but 60 USD is about 184 BRL. The range you gave is roughly equivalent to $30-$40, so that seems rather low for a AAA game.

That's a normal price set to combat piracy in poorer regions. New PC games are less than $40 in my country as well. The problem is that the current Fallout 4 price in Brazil is crazy high, even by US standards. AFAIK Bethesda hasn't said anything about it yet.

Would this be the same steam price and same BRL in the other 50,000 threads of a similar name, or is this a different steam price and BRL?

This is a regular issue with games in Brazil lately, not just Fallout, from what I've been seeing online.

Must be something nationally that's causing it, not game publishers.

They might consider that those who buy on release day have bigger wallet and wouldn't mind paying more.

The

Only console games are taxed because there is a stupid law that treatthem the same as Cassino machines, because in the 70's people were too dumb to know the difference between an arcade and a slot machine, while PC games are counted as software and not taxed.

As told before the price tag here is cheaper than US to combat piracy, in the Russian market AAA games costs around 30USD

The problem is much biger and the lack of respose for Bethesda is alarming just look thys number is and dont say is just a abusive price tag:

Look at some prices comparisons from recent AAA games.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate:
U$59.99 or 拢49.99 or 59,99鈧?or 楼8100 or 1999褉 or R$129,99BRL

Witcher 3:
U$59.99 or 拢49.99 or 59,99鈧?or 楼6080 or 1199褉 or R$129,99BRL

Rainbow Six:
U$59.99 or 拢49.99 or 59,99鈧?or 楼8100 or 1999褉 or R$129,99BRL

Grand Theft Auto V:
U$59.99 or 拢39.99 or 59,99鈧?or 楼7000 or 1999褉 or R$99,99BRL

Fallout 4:
U$59.99 or 拢49.99 or 59,99鈧?or 楼7800 or 1999褉 or R$249,99BRL

Pls Bethesda fix thys soon.

What about us Australians... we have to pay in USD on steam which for FO4 is $79.95 (already higher than in the US), and then with the current conversion rates it's $105 AUD...

Still thinking this is some sort of mistake, because it happened with Mortal Kombat X and it was resolved one month till release, i hope is just the same mistake.

Well they are for sure getting no pre-orders now from Brazil. If i were them i would contact Steam, Valve or someone. Because this happen more than one occasion. One time i remember it happened to Mortal Kombat X but a moth before release they fixed it. It's obviously going to be fixed if history is any indication. I just think this is bad because it's gonna scare of potential costumers who don't understand that the price there is not final. I also feel sad for those who pre-ordered with this huge price thinking it would be like that making them end up wasting a ton of money.

Unfortunately this one I'll not see a single coin from my wallet... This Moacyr Alves Jr is just destroying the Brazilian market, which already suffered enough. Now Bethesda choose this [censored] of person to represent them here in Brazil??? This is the world's end for Bethesda here in country.. I bought Skyrim and after I bought The Evil Within for PC(which is one of the best horror gamer that I ever played), but Fallout 4 selling for R$249,00 BRL in a region where people receive the avg salary of R$1000,00 BRL?
No way, stick with it, because I don't want it for this disrespectful price.

Hmm another thing, if theres any one out there responsible for Bethesda region interaction, I would recomend to check some Brazilan games forums, because you'll find uncountless people complaning about the Steam price... No one is happy with this decision
The blame of all this mess is man called Moacyr Alves Jr who is advising and represent you guys extremly wrong.

This a google translate of the article from adrenaline:

So, yeah, we're screwed and almost no one(there is always that rich guy with more money than sense) will buy it. Pre-order or not.
