The gentelmens discussion of matters pertaining to duel wiel

Why then, did they not allow us to duel wield SHIELDS for duel PASSIVE enchantments?

Perhaps to deliver a message that the incredible effectiveness of dual shielding was to much for them to handle out side of a greater power. The greater power being magic, witch is sadly the only true way of dual shielding now as apposed to DUEL SHIELDING! With dual shields of course.

Well it is a hard tactic to get use to especially with most game barely rewarding blocking. Also I just figured out you can actually dual shield it's not just a joke. If you use to different magic shields lol.

i think what has allways made me not use blocking was the fact it slows down the battle for 1
and 2 it allways seemd i had 2 or more people ataking me .. so i was just massive swinging out of control and tried to make myself think i was actually using skill .. lol
i think trying to be realistic and block and swing and be a bit more profesional would add more rewards ... in MMO's ive played i was allways playing a tank .. not so much damage dealers
i would like to play as a damage dealer that you are forced to block tho ... this would help .. and need to be thinking on your feet
kinda sounds exhausting tho ... since i like to play and be fighting soo many hours a day ....

They probably thought: "Hey, using two shields is kind of stupid, so let's not let them do that...considering they'd be useless in combat and stuff. And people would just complain on teh forums if we put it in....."

Given that we can put defensive enchantments on weapons and armour, I'd say we, from a logical point of view, could do without the inclusion of dual shields. Granted it does not make up completely for a shield, it will have to do, for now, at least...

I enjoyed enchanting 25% chameleon on just a few pieces of armor there by stacking it, and being permanently invisible. Got god mode any one?

The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichotomy of blocking then hitting was MOST enjoyable.
I implore you, go back and have a go at this mechanic in oblivion

Your logic confuses and upsets me.

I will now go write a 37 page rant that I will post (in full) at a later point in time.

In this rant I will do the following according to this forum's customs:

1 - threaten to not buy the game even though I preordered months ago
2 - say the game is broken even though I've never played it
3 - Bring up arcane lore at random that has nothing to do with what I'm complaining about
4 - start making things up about the game that may or may not be true (probably not) in order to support my position
5 - ??????
6 - profit

I don't know why people aren't asking why you can't stab with arrows. Legolas style, this is far more relevent imo. If you've got a bow and arrow out and someone jumps out from behind the bushes at you with a sword, don't tell me you wouldn't just grip that arrow and swing it at their necks.

Ooooh, I forgot about the shield spell...

I wonder if I can have a shield spell in my right hand, and have a real physical shield in the left.... AND use them simultaneously....

Oooh, all the things that I am going to have to try on 11^3.... :toughninja:

Stuff like that was a game-ruiner for me. I prefer my TES with some actual challenge to it. :tes:

Pretty hard core of you to try that. After stabbing him with the arrow precede to stab the rest of the now broken shaft into his eye.

you block with rapiers?
i thought that was just glancing another sword
you cant block a warhammer or a frost troll

Pray, excuse my frightful lack of clarification. I assumed the use of the term 'parrying dagger' would be self explanatory; an item of obvious worth against a foil-like weapon, held by a man of breeding, whom you may trust to abide by the proper form of duelling. Alas, an item of no worth against say, a person from 'the colonies', wielding a savage's or foreigner's 'arme favorisée'.

blocking while dual wielding will be unbalanced... if you could block... then what is the point of a shield...?
