Post » Sun Jan 13, 2013 6:09 am

i cannot believe it to be honest
i tell you friends,i was bricking it all the way through (have barely got further than the first corridor/after room with first rat/that damned imp always killed me
well this time i did what i was recommended to,and restarted with another character (but get the ebony dagger  is it excalibur or something

anyhoo it was still touch n go all the way through (especially the end room with the rat/imp and bat :swear:
but i prevailed in the end (by the way, that skeleton warrior didn't stand a chance

as soon as i got out into the wilderness,i made straight for daggerfall (as to be honest i was a bit er wary shall we say of hanging about/in case a giant ant or something killed me.
am now at daggerfall wondering what the hell to do next (will be leaving the main story for a while).

what an awesome game  but by akatosh is it hard to get to grips with

apologies for the droning on,but i never thought i'd ever make it past the first room.

Hurray! I spent the good part of a day looking for that exit, it's a hell of a job.

Yeah, I found it really hard. Just wait till you wander about Daggerfall city! Though admitedly that was the part where I stopped playing! That imp is scary and just getting used to such an old game makes it really annoying in my opinion to escape. Congratulations. Hope you enjoy playing it.

i have to make a confession,i actually downloaded a walkthrough guide to help me out a bit (as it really is an imposing game/i find morrowind hard enough
the game does remind me a bit like hexen (graphically) as well as the eye of the beholder games also (all great games).

I wish I could bring back time... Now it takes me like 10-15 minutes to fully clear it...

Getting out of the first dungeon can be fairly quick if you know where to go. When you come to the room with the big table and two doors, take the left door into that big open area with the big stairs. Go up the stairs to the platform with the throne. Stand on the platform, activate the lever which is to the left of the throne, and ride up. From there keep to your right, and the first door on your right will be the one with the portal to the outside.

In Daggerfall, make sure you don't find yourself outside at night. When you get a letter from Lady Brisiana, make sure you go to meet her. Other than that, the world is yours to explore. One thing you can do is explore nearby dungeons. They are actually graveyards with only a few easy monsters and some loot.

The first dungeon feels so creepy compared to the other elder scroll games. I hate it when the skeletons scream. >.>

you'll come to miss that place, compared to the rest of the game dungeons that place is like taken out of heaven. :P dont worry, it becomes more enjoyable when you get the hang of things.

As soon as I got out of my first dungeon and into Daggerfall city. I sold all the items not useful to me and bought a horse and a cart. And then joined several guilds and start doing their quests.

The moment I rode my horse around this beautiful and immensely huge town I fell in love with the game. And after sight seeing a few places like Wayrest and Sentinel this game became a tied favorite with Morrowind.

Dungeon crawling was tedious at first. But after getting a few spells like levitate, water breathing and jumping, and after learning I can simply swung a weapon to open locked doors, it became much more fun. And finally finding well hidden places to finish a quest is very rewarding.

Oh yeah, the Ebony Dagger. Made me wonder why I chose long blade as a major skill. Look, I became so fond of the ebony dagger that spent a ton of money on repair and major skill long blade trainers in order to level up just so I could keep on using the ebony dagger.

Now it is time for you to take on Arena's first dungeon.
Damn place is hard as hell!
At this time, i'm playing a nord, i beated Privateer's hold in about 10 minutes, and went out level 2. I guess it is depending on how much skills you try to use there.

I love the skeleton at the end of that dungeon, he looks so happy as he tries to beat you down

also getting that random archer woman stuck on the table makes me giggle

I always just avoided the imp in the first room. Now you've done Privateers Hold, time to take on the Arena starting dungeon.

A few things that made Daggerfall dungeons so immersive: the contrast between large interior spaces and small chaotic passages, the background music and ambient sounds, the lights flickering on the walls, skeletons crawling back on you from behind and skaring you to dead. It's still one of the games in the series with better dungeons.

I remember the feeling. Nothing was so scary as this dungeon - the environment, the music, the screams.

Later on u will meet Dark (or Daedra) Seducers and their laughter... and some other scary things.

u must know that u will probably start this a few times more, because u will find out some skills dont quite work properly (lockpick the worst, also the languages svck). Oh, I now see u started in September!

My only big issue (Other than realizing not to screw around when fighting that imp) was finding the exit. I thought it was just a window of some sort so wandered past it several times, going higher and finding a dead end. I cleared out that entire place looking for the exit.
