So, the great great question is: Where's Patch v1.2?

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 7:58 am

I bet its not just me, but many other Overseers around the world are wondering if a patch 1.2 or any other update is on the oven, to fix many (critical) bugs, and if there's a "life expectation" on this game. Is it just a spin-off until Fallout 4 is released, or you guys are going to heavily invest on this game. Because you guys did a great job on this game, let it rotten and die would be just a waste of time. Besides Console/PC Gaming, the market for Mobile Games is growing a lot, if you watch Ubi and EA, they're taking approaches to the Mobile Market, and getting a nice share of it.

I think that you are currently focusing on the arrengements for the release of Fallout 4, but dont forget the lovely Overseers Crowd from Shelter, I trust on Vault-Tec to survive the Cold Nuclear winter as a measure of fun.

Waiting on the v1.2 patch or anything else... :)

So, nobody has any complaints about the game? It seems like people doesnt want this game to be fixed or upgraded, but instead, the thing is about creating a thousand threads about molerats and deathclaws...

If you are asking when the next content release will be, then when it is ready.

If you are asking when the next round of bug fixes will be ready, well...

Based on the quality of the bug reports i have seen in this sub-forum (which, btw, is the WRONG sub-forum for bug reports), then never.

The first step any developer takes to fix a bug, is to attempt to recreate it. If they cannot see the bug in action, they usually can only make a guess as to what the real problem is. That is to say, they have to get the program to bug in the same way it is reported. They recreate the bug by reading the bug report and using the information in the report.

Bug reports come in various levels of detail. Everything from "It don't work." to full information on the hardware, version of the OS, version of the software. error messages, what steps were done just before the bug manifested itself, etc.

With a report that simply states, "It don't work." The developer really has nothing to go on. The more information you give (even if it doesn't seem relevant) the better.

If your first post in this thread, is your bug report, then you have given them less to go on than even a "It don't work" report.

The short of it is, the less information that people give the developers about a problem that is occurring, the longer it will take to fix the problem.

Here is a short list you might want to append to your "to fix many (critical) bugs" bug report.

Make and Model of your device.

OS version of your device.

Fallout Shelter version.

Free storage.

Free RAM.

Other processes running at time of bug.

The nature of the bug.

What you were doing just prior to when the bug manifested itself.

Number of rooms in your shelter.

Number of dwellers in your shelter.

Number of dwellers outside your shelter (either exploring, returning or waiting).

The number of items you have in storage.

The above is the MINIMUM requirement for a valid bug report. The reason being, that Developers are not mind readers. If they were, they would be taken out of development and made Sys Admins.

Another thing to note: Submitting a bug report to the wrong location will only ensure a delay in it being acted upon (if it ever is found). From what I have seen, there are two places to submit bug reports and this particular sub-forum ain't one of them (as I have stated above).
