The Greatest Gift Bethesda Can Give!

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:37 am

I've already posted this in The Elder Scrolls Discussions on Facebook, but I would like to see how it fares here.

First I was thinking of extra content that may be given with a Collectors Edition of the game and then after a few posts it hit me! What if instead of a Collectors Edition of the game with possibly an art book, sound track cd, figurine or some form of DLC that you can only get with the purchase of a Collectors Edition, how about a code? A code for what you say? A code that enters you in a contest to be one of lets just say 10 people who get the extraordinary privilege of a tour of Bethesda Game Studios and while there, say at the end of the tour, there is a raffle for one of the lucky 10 people to win 1 of everything made of The Elder Scrolls series possibly including all the games, figurines, sound track cd's, art books etc...and a one of a kind hand drawn Skyrim poster of some kind autographed by the entire Bethesda Skyrim team?

Now before anyone says stupid idea or never going to happen, lets not forget the people who made Major League Baseball 2K10 just had a contest last year where the winner won $1,000,000.00 . Now I'm not a genius but I do know flying 10 people to any destination in the world and back plus say dinner, motel for a night and what ever the raffle winner may take home will not even come close to $1,000,000.00. I personally think that it is time the consumers of not only the greatest RPG gaming series ever, but the consumers of the entire gaming industry itself should be given a chance at something I know most would consider selling family members off for...LOL

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome
PS: Don't tell her...but I'd sell my wife in a heart beat for this...LMAO

I like this idea, but here's how I see it playing out for me:

"Oh, wow! I won! This is really cool! I get to check out Bethesda's offices, and spend a whole day... away from Skyrim..."

"Eh... I'd rather just play Skyrim"

Okay but whose to say you wouldn't be able to that there but with the makers of the game itself maybe even learn a few tricks in the process?

Considering the things people post on the forums, if I were a Bethesda employee, I would fear for my life having rabid TES fans in the office.

WHERE ARE MY SPEARS, stab stab stab, etc.

LOL...yea I can see your point...but still its the thought that counts even if you have to bludgeon a fan with a mace for going a little crazy....that's why there are release forms and waivers in case of death by mauling...lol

Well I hope you would be able to contain your self until after the raffle...atleast get some free stuff before you massacre every one for not putting spears in the game.

My problem: They'd go to Community Discussion, check out my "Community Member Picture," and that'd be it for me. "Another entry from him? Nope, trash it...not letting that one near this place." :D

Take my advice OP. Wives read the forums you post in. Even if you don't think she does. Valentine's Day is approaching. Walk softly.

As cool as it sounds, even for just a tour of the office, Id much prefer a normal collectors edition simply because of the slim-to-none chance of me personally winning. Id rather not pay $10 more for a "chance" at winning something like that.

There's one reason it won't work: Once those 10 people have won, there will be no reason to buy the Collector's Edition.

And I think that the great great great great great majority of people will be a pretty disappointed when they realize they've lost money on something they had a very very very very very very very very little chance to win on. And that once it's over - it's over.

What about us not living in America? What do we get? Free flights halfway 'round the world?

I like this idea but I don't like it being related to the Collector's Edition. I like CE for what it is, a material treat for collectors.

Yeah... No. Maybe we can invite Todd around for a BBQ and get free, signed Bethesda T-Shirts and games and figurines, etc.

For a tour in Bethesda i'd brutally kill everyone that competes against me. Then again... it would probably be easier to violently demand a Bethesda tour by showing up on their doorstep with a C4-belt.
