The Dragon Priests worshiped Dragons in the time of Alduin and the Dragon Cult, and were able to use Thu'um.


Now the Greybeards, they honor Paarthurnax (A Dragon) as their Patron, spend countless years meditating and Practicing the Thu'um.


The way I see it, it is very Possible Paarth is hoping the Greybeards to act as his equivalent of the Dragon Priests.. and with Alduin out of the picture, become the new leader of the next Dragon Cult.

The greybeards are spiritual priests, I don't see them dominating like the Dragon Priests of old

Never thought of it like that - It seems very likely, you can tell from talking to parthurnax he's admitting it's in his nature to dominate skyrim - but then again would the greybeards be so blinded enough as to become his minions.

If they do, god even if its just 4 of em they would absolutely abolish skyrim.

Dragon cult was not always corrupt FYI.

We still always dominated though,

The greybeards leader is a dragon but the founder was a nord.
