I was just looking through some Fallout 3 pictures and I realized how many options for shave head or weird raider hair options there were. My question to pose to the world is.... will that be available in the game or will you only have access to traditional pre-war hair?

It would kind of take you right out of immersion if you could have the weird pig tail/shaved down the center hair for your pre-war mom but it would kind of be unfortunate if you wanted to play as a raider later in the game and couldn't shave your head or something.

What do you think they will do?

Maybe they have barbers later on in the game's cities... Highly likely though!

I was just looking at a pic of the female protag and thinking that her hair was nice... for someone who isn't involved in a fight for her life several time a day. I'm hoping they have a barber in the Wasteland somewhere because it's gonna wreck MY IMMERSHUN if I have to have a bald 50's housewife. That or they just have to make sure they include the changeracemenu console command.

maybe let us change our hair without having facial surgery like in FO3, that'd be nice, i hope they have some interesting styles (there is one from shadowrun returns that i am dying to have in FO4 )

I was thinking they could limit us to traditional hair styles in the beginning then, once roaming the wasteland, unlock the more wild styles. We could have access to various barbers throughout the world or perhaps let us set up a mirror in our custom built homes to change hair/ beard.

Well in Fallout 3 your house butler could cut your hair, so maybe Codsworth will be able to. Also you had a few hairdressers about, it is safe to say they will include something like this in the game. The hairstyle in the E3 demo was really nice though. Best Bethesda hair i have seen, ever.

I imagine that available from the start, or else give us one last opportunity to revamp our character before we exit the vault, Oblivion style.

We can only speculate as to what it might be right now but I think most the hair styles at the beginning will be pre-war. I have high expectation of it carrying over to the future Wasteland. I believe you can get haircuts and the styles will be surrounding the time of the Wastes or dependant on whoses cutting your hair. For example, an up and coming community Wastelander training their skills with old world books on hair dressing. Or a Mr Gutsby handybot simular to the one in Fallout 3's Megaton safehouse, giving you a pre-war haircut.

What I really wanted is a full epic beard.

I don't know why, but I'd really like to see long hairstyles for males...

As long as Wendy the Welder style is in, it'll be good for me. I like long hair but it clips when you wear headgear.

ALL my male chars in any Elder Scrolls look like a headbanger =p

No hairstyle screams "SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!" more than a long hair and a long beard XD

What I think they will do: Probably not many new styles. I hope I'm wrong.

What I would love them to do: Have several nice-looking curly hair styles, short or medium length.

There are many more hairstyles and facial hair options than there are in Fallout 3 and New Vegas so I'd assume so. Hopefully the traditional Vault Boy hairstyle returns as well, I forget what it's called though.

Maybe the raider hair is prewar. From what little we saw in the trailer there were a few that erred that way in chargen. For all we know it's how the Communist insurgents and canadian resistance wore their hair.

I agree with you on female hairstyle... Need some more hairstyle that goes along with glasses (yup for female characters I love to play them as girls with glasses)

By traditional pre-war, I am guessing we are talking about something like a pageboy cut and not the pink dreadlocks combined with a purple and gold mohawks that seem to come out after dark where I live.

Please just give the male some good long hair options

I would just mod it but 99% of hair mods are for females and they look like something from an anime i.e crap and out of place. Finding what you want in the other 1% is hard

Weird as raiders is actually an separate race in NV, as some body mod had separate options for them.

Maybe, just maybe, we will be able to attract barbers and/or hairstylist to our settlements. I hope.

You wake up one morning, roll out of bed, stretch, scratch your belly, look out the window and see a small caravan outside your front gate. It is Antoine of the Wasteland and with him is his staff and six pack brahmin loaded down with gels, dyes, driers, etc. He wants to open a shop in your settlement.

Your choice is simple. Ether kill and eat him, or let him in and enjoy a little pampering every so often.

My guess is that they'll all be available from the start, I'd hate having to unlock them as I play the game, that'd be stupid.
