Sorry that I have to mention but you started 2 threads full of noobish questions about arena. You didn't figure out anything about playing arena yourself.

BTT:

I love Arena because it has it's very own charm. The old cheesy english, the incredibly big dungeons (never try to play them without the walkthrough, you'll fail) and the old music.

Wrong i figured out that you dont have to walk to the place you have to go by myself. And agreed a walkthrough will help you. And i have played arena alot since then.

I have to defend him here. You were a noob once, and will be again someday... I don't think it's right for you to criticize someone for having been one.
anyways, that's all I'll say about it.

I like Arena as well. It lacks the complexity of most TES games. Its gameplay is very simple. But that has a charm to it, it's easy to jump right into and it's fun to play when you're bored.

I'm not hardcoe, but I like the game. It's charming and direct. It is a perfect treat for those who like wandering about dungeons and messing around with their gear. As others have mentioned, it provides the basic elements and adds its own flavor without overloading the game with features.

I like Arena for its simplicity and easy to navigate dungeons. The dungeons are perfect if you're not feeling in the mood for a three hour dungeon crawl.

Yes, I'm talking about ya Daggerfall

It's fun to see where the Elder Scrolls series got it's start. Arena uses an experience-based level character development system instead of the skill-based character development system that Morrowind (as well as Daggerfall, and Oblivion) uses. The experience-based system is easier to to learn and use if you are new to large-scale games like any of the Elder Scrolls series. Also, as mentioned before... it's Free! And it has some good music... and snow! :)

Daggerfall and Arena still have the best snow of any Elder Scrolls game, in my opinion. :)

I've already forgotten what Solstheim looked & sounded like, and also the mountains of Cyrodil, but the sound of walking through snow-covered cities in Daggerfall is definitely cool.

Great memories. Crawling through the damp spooky corridors of Privateer's Hold and then emerging in the dead of night. I fast travelled to Daggerfall and arrived at mid-day with snow gracefully tumbling down and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ97I2p4_YY playing.

I'm not familiar with DOSbox and lack patience. Does this way to work Arena under XP [sp3 btw] work well or will I be crashing every 5 minutes [...if I'm lucky]?

It should work, but I'm not sure how stable it will be running it that way, the only way to find out is to try it. Dosbox is the best way to run Arena IMO, with Dosbox Arena is running under its native enviroment MS-DOS.

Perhaps because it's not perpetually there? I hope next game has dynamic terrain and weather!
