The Heart of Lorkhan lives

What is the significance of this book? What do I do with it? I found it, and I don't know if there's anything else to do with it besides sell it.

Read it, and you'll get to pick between three categories (Thief, Warrior, Mage.). Whichever one you wind up choosing raises all the skills in that field, and they do increase quite a bit.

That was probably the biggest disappointment in the whole game for me. I will curse Hermaeus Mora forever, and he used to be my favourite Daedric Prince.

Ya, really. When Septimus mentioned the heart and the Nerevarine, I was like

But once I opened the box and walked up and saw the words Oghma Infinium, I thought to myself, "[censored]. Herma-Mora, you troll!"

Personally, I'm glad they're not recycling story elements from Morrowind. Been there, done that. I like the new stuff.

Meh, the moment I spoke to Herma-Mora's little voidatar while leaving the glacier that one time, I knew what was really in the box. I'm surprised other people didn't see it coming the moment a daedric prince got involved.

I didn't know that that Mora took "Wretched Abyss" as an alias. I had no clue at all.

On a tangent; is it just me or do the Daedric Princes (except Sheo) have pretty bad voice acting? It sounds like they almost forgot they needed voices for them, and some random developer grabbed the nearest microphone and recorded some lines in a funny voice. :sadvaultboy:

I like them better than the voices from Oblivion, which were mostly just the normal voice actors speaking through the Devil's Auto-Tune.

Molag Bal has a rockin' voice. I do find the voice acting in general to be not that great, though.

Actually it made quiet some sense the heart wasn't in it.. it would have been stupid...
I mean... a whole Game and Province's History was centered around that thing.. and then it would have been implented as being locked in a frozen glacier in skyrim and only be sought by a crazy wizard?

Then again it would have made some sense for the Dwemer to have had a backup plan for if their enchantments broke or if there was a risk of the enemy obtaining it - what better place to send it than some random box in a glacier that nobody's gonna look in without being guided there by a Daedric Prince.

And still, what the hell was that box doing out there? Or better yet maybe the Heart was in there, but Herma Mora snatched it away as soon as the lock broke, giving you the book for your work. Probably not, but still.

Why are people so shocked by the idea of Hermaus Mora lying? He wanted his damn book back. He did what it took.

But I think Merari has the right of it. Hermaus Mora spoke cryptically and Septimus heard what he wanted to hear.

EDIT: Or, possibly, he promised Septimus he'd find the Heart of the World when he opened the box. Note how he disappeared. We don't know where the Heart is, but Septimus might have been taken right to it. And it was in no state where he could see it as a living person.

Then again he didn't take the book, he gave it to you, and since I didn't read it he's not getting it back anytime soon.

I love Meridia's voice.
Very stern and matrony.

Ya know, with the Oghma Infinium being the book of secret or infinite knowledge (or something like that) couldn't it have been that the knowledge contained within the book would've been enough to get Septimus to the Heart? I don't think you guys are giving Mora enough credit here. Septimus possibly could've found the heart with it if he hadn't spontaneously disassembled, so Mora would've been telling the truth since the means to the heart would've been in the box.

... Didn't Herma-Mora kill Septimus on purpose? The whole "he's overstayed his welcome as my servant" bit made it seem so.

I might be misunderstanding some of you, but I definitely got the feeling that Mora just trolled Septimus, wanting his Book out there causing "mischief".
