I would like to have a secret quest where I can change the color of my vault suit............

Not really. Quest data shows up as quests, doesn't matter if its marked in the journal or not. Now if its just done by notes/computer entrys, it wouldn't be in the quest category. however, it'd still show up under notes.



Ok, did a little bit of thinking on how I'd hide a quest. It would be via script, use scripts to spawn your npcs and do their dialogue bits. It wouldn't show up in either quest or notes, and the voice/script files would have to be mined out. Considering the large amount of talky bits in this game it'd take awhile.



A point against it would be the annoyance of coding a quest this way, and the chances of it screwing up. Seriously, the scripting system in fallout games tends to be like getting your teeth drilled. To the point where folks would use the bloody quest system to do things a script should be handling.
