The Hobbit

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:20 pm

Superb news!

For some reason, I'm having a Middle-Earth themed week for my free time this week. My gaming time is spent on Third Age: Total War, I'm reading Bilbo The Hobbit and I'm rewatching the extended LOTR films along with the special features that I never looked at yet.
So to learn that the Hobbit is alive and kicking is great. :D

I am very excited for this. The LOTR trilogy is by far my favorite trilogy of all time, and each of the movies is tied for my favorite move post-2000's. I really hope that it gets a release date of some point next year, I really don't want to have to wait until 2013 for the first one.

Ahh, Mr. Jackson. I remember when he was a fat man with driving around with in a incredibly [censored] car trying to pitch The Lord of the Rings to the movie studios.

Im really happy Jackson is back in the bag instead of Del Toro, Jackson should have headed it from the start.
It seems most of the old cast from Lord of the Rings is back to reprise there roles as well.
Cant wait!!

Hmm, interesting... I hope that turns out well. Nice to see he is trying to move the industry forward though, it may even become a new standard framerate if this experiment is successful.

I'm amazed at how elaborate the sets are. Rivendell isn't a green screen? Mind = blown.

And Ian McKellen returning as Gandalf, I'm glad. It would feel kind of weird having to get used to a different actor.

Peter Jackson is definitely passionate about what he does, I'm expecting another great cinema adventure.

I love Mr. Jackson for making the Hobbit now, I don't need no horror in my Hobbit- silly Toro...

Yeah I'm so glad Toro isn't doing it. As good as Pans Labyrinth is, he's used the same style "monsters" in every film he's done and they'd look completely out of place in the Hobbit.

I don't know what the youtube videos were that were posted in here, the links are all broken or the videos taken down, but http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150223186041807&oid=141884481557&comments has a video on Facebook. I'm really, really excited. I watched LOTR trilogy this weekend, (I have the extended version DVD set, plus the appendices) then watched all the appendices. :P

I do it about every 6 months, and probably always will. I've never had a favorite movie before, but this has been my favorite ever since I first saw the trilogy. (I know most people consider it 3 movies, but it's one big movie to me.) I am going to take a stab in the dark and predict that "The Hobbit" will be my second favorite movie of all time. :)
