As for your suggestion about a better draft system, Archmagister, I think there might be something there. Although I do not think that the NHL has a 'tankapalooza' or general 'tanking' problem the way that the NBA does, I love the idea of adding incentive to win games for teams out of contention. I wonder about a slightly different version where, at the end of the season you simply take the best team that didn't make the playoffs give them the 1st pick, and so on. Your idea, however, is probably better because it rewards the absolutely worst teams even more, by letting them accumulate points sooner (because they are eliminated sooner). And even though a better draft system might increase parity, how much can it increase it? How many #1 overall picks does Edmonton have, and how much do they still svck? Plenty. Having good development and having a strong team rely a lot more than on the number and location of draft picks, although they can help.

Slovenia is terrible, I think it'd be hard to deny that. Otherwise, I like symmetry and simplicity. Finland's white jerseys look kind of bad (somewhere in the last thread there is a picture of my personal blue Suomi jersey) but their blue ones look alright. Austria looks pretty cool, as does Russia. USA is pretty boring.
P.S. Bruins just hung 7 goals on Ottawa. How awful is Ottawa's defense? Anyone saying that Karlsson should be anywhere NEAR the Norris is crazy. He may have 15 goals but he's -14!!!!!! -14!!! He doesn't know how to play defense!!!!
