The Hold Out-RP

Sara, and the two guards accompanying her stopped just before the door. She motioned at the guards who immediately entered the room, and roughly threw Gregory into the chair, strapping him in. Claire stayed out of sight and listened as the guards beat him . The guards checked the straps and, after making sure he was well secured, left the room and closed the door. Sara leaned against the wall to prepare for what was to come. She was wearing her uniform and overcoat and was carrying a clean white lab coat under her arm. Once she felt she was ready, Sara walked to the door and entered the room.

She walked in and gave a look of disgust. Not at Greg, but at the room. There was blood on the floor that looked like it had been there a while, and the paint was peeling off the walls. Closing the door behind her, Sara looked at Gregory and shook her head. Blood was running out of his nose, and his shirt was ripped. He also had bruises forming around his left eye. Without a word, she placed the lab coat on a chair next to the door, and walked towards Greg,

He felt a hit from the guard's gen slam into his chest. He had trouble breathing for the moment and coughed loudly. " Shut up!", the guard slammed the butt of his weapon into the side Greg's face. " Your lucky we don't have more time with you." The guard stated and walked out of the room. This left him alone for a minute, leaving him to suffer from his wounds. A pain began to hurt him on his side, but when he looked he couldn't see any blood, must be internal he thought. What had he done, he ruined his life, but he couldn't go through his life telling lie after lie. There had to be a stopping point, and this was it.

The door slid open, revealing Sara, lab coat in hand. She looked around the room for a moment, and stepped forward. " What the hell do you want" Greg said in a deep voice. He pretty much knew the answer to this, they wanted information, and he had it. He prepared for the worst.

Sara remained silent and stared at Greg for a moment. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out some gauze, and began to gently clean away the blood on his face. The look on Sara's face was one of caring and concern, though the truth was, she had a great deal of things she wanted to do to him at this moment. Making him feel better wasn't one of them. Sara needed to change the rules of the game to adapt to the wonderful piece of information she had on Greg. Once she had finished cleaning him up she backed away and looked at him. Her expression became sad and she started to speak.

"Greg, I?"Sara trailed off and looked at the floor. She took a moment to ponder exactly how she wanted to play this. There were a multitude of possibilities open to her, she just needed the right one for the desired effects. She looked back up and stared at Greg.

"You know, I really thought you were someone I could open up to. For the first time in years I thought I found someone I could be close to. Now I just don't know what to think. I?I thought we were connecting and I need to know, was it just me or was there a connection between us?" Sara waited for the answer with anticipation.

Henry entered the command center and headed for the colonel's office to tell him about what Sara had done. He entered the office to see the colonel reading some poetry. Not wishing to disturb him Henry sat down and waited to give the colonel more time to read. After 15 minutes he thought it would be fine to interrupt him then. "Um, excuse me sir? Captain Carter has had me reassigned to be under her direct command. I'm sorry if this seems like insubordination but she has no right to do that. I don't know about you but she is manipulating everyone to achieve her means. Don't you see? I'm not meant to be some experiment for her, I wish to stay with my Infantry Company. I hope you'll help me out and not leave me to die in the hands of Captain Carter. That it all" Henry stood back and waited for a response. Going along with Captain Carter was almost certainly suicide, considering the fact that he beat that scientists in the war games. I just wish I could go back to being just some random soldier who no one pays attention to.

He thought heavily as Sara talked. He went over all the things she had done for him, and he for her. Greg breathed deeply, " Yes, I did feel a connection, at some times more than friendship." Greg looked up and looked deeply into her eyes, " Sara, I felt the same way. I felt I could share everything with you, but not anymore. I used to have feelings more than friendship for you, but I don't know anymore."

"I don't know anymore." "I-I don't know what to think about you anymore" He looked back down and thought of what he had just said. He really didn't know.

Sara stared at Greg and a tear rolled down her cheek. Turning her back she walked over near the wall and looked at the floor.

"You think I'm here to torture you. You think they sent me in here to get information from you." Sara's voice was cold and clinical. She lifted her head, and as she did she noticed the emergency control panel. It seemed someone had been prying at it. Sara turned around and looked at Greg with a blank stare.

"After everything I said to you, you still believe that I am that kind of person?" Sara's tone was one of pain. She started to shake her head again. "I can't believe I was stupid enough to think you were different." Sara stopped talking again and looked up at the ceiling. When she saw that Greg was about to speak, Sara quickly jumped in.

"I was sent in here to give you choice. In a couple of minutes, I will walk out of this room. You can either come with me or stay here. But if you come with me, you're going to have to help me. You do have information that will be useful to the Enclave and you are going to be questioned for that information. It can either be by me, back at my lab. Or in here with whomever comes in after I leave." That was Sara's offer. It was a good plan, but it did have flaws. There were so many ways this could go wrong. There was also the disease. Sara eeded him for tests, and how harsh those tests would be, would be entirely up to him.

"I want to trust you Greg. I want to give this a chance. But you have to help me." Sara looked at him hopefully.

" Damn it, It's just that so much has happened, I just didn't know what to do-" I didn't know what to think when you walked in." He could tell Sara was losing hope in him. " I know how much you hate the Brotherhood Of Steel, I-I just didn't know.

He thought about Sara's offer. Going with her would probably be the best idea, At least she knew him, the next people who came in would probably beat him to near death without thinking. " I'll come with you". He didn't want to do either, but he had no choice. " I will help the the best can, but I really don't know how much more I can take."

Sara turned and opened the door. She waved at one of the guards in the hallway who came in and undid the straps holding Gregory's wrists and ankles. The guard turned and looked at Sara, who in turn nodded towards the door. The guard immediately walked out the door and closed it. Sara picked up the lab coat and threw it into Gregory's lap.

"Put it on. You shirt is destroyed." Sara put both her arms at her sides now. He hands were resting on what appeared to be buckles on the coat. Sara continued to look at Greg.

"And now if you would be so kind. Please turn out your pockets and put everything on the medical cart." Sara knew he must have some sort of tool on him. And she wasn't ready to trust him with anything that could be used as a weapon. Not just yet anyways. Sara would also have to talk to whomever brought Greg here without searching him first.

Greg rubbed his wrists as the straps where taken off. They where red and bleeding a bit, but he couldn't be bothered by it. He stood up and put on the lab coat. She was right, his entire shirt was tattered, and stained with blood. It fit him well enough, but he felt awkward in it.

After Sara told him to put anything he had onto the tray, he wondered if he should keep the small knife hidden away in his pocket. No, if she found out he had kept it on him it would devastate her, she would never trust him again. He grabbed the knife and put it on the metal tray, making a small clatter. As he walked forward he remembered the holotape still in his hidden pocket. Despite what she had said, he couldn't give it to her, not yet. " Alright, that's all I have"

Sara smiled as Greg put the knife on the cart. She continued to look at him with eyes of friendship, though a deep hatred and longing to kill was hiding just behind them.

"Next to my lab is a vacant apartment. This will now be your home. All of your rights and privileges have been revoked. You will saty in your new quarters until I have need of you. You should also know that as of right now, the colonel and myself are the only ones on the base that know what you are. And I don't need to tell you what will happen if that changes," Sara walked over to him and looked into his eyes. She found she really liked the way his ledt one was looking at her, and it would look nice in her collection. Sara brought her arm up and ran her hand dow his cheek.

"I really hope I can trust you Greg. I really don't want anything bad to happen to you." Sara had that hopeful look again. She mixed it with just a dash of hurt to show that she was upset at having been deceived. Sara turned away and walked to the door. Opening it, she called for the guard.

"The guard here will escort you to your new quarters. You will not return to the barracks and you will stay there until I come for you. There are some fresh clothes there for you to put on. I have some things I need to take care of. Now off you go." Sara motioned Greg and the guard out of the room. She sat in the chair and waited a few minutes, happy at the way things were going. The game with Gregory would continue, but first, she needed to see the colonel. There was still something she needed to discuss with him. Something which seemed a little suspicious, and was nagging at her in the back of her mind.

Greg walked with the guard to his new home, the guards emotion and six unknown to Greg, as he/she was donning an Enclave Power Helmet. They walked past Sara's lab, sealed shut for now. He opened the door to his apartment, a clean little place with every thing he needed. He had expected to open the door and find a messy, small closet-room, but instead he got this. Much better.

Before he put on his new clothes he decided to take a quick shower, as he hadn't had one in a while and it would be refreshing. He placed his holotape into a desk and locked it. No one was to read it yet.

As Henry walked into the office and said his piece I put the book down, cracking my knuckles a surge of pain flew through my arms. Gritting my teeth I controlled it quickly and blinked a few times. A scowl printed itself across my face, looking up at Henry I considered what he'd said and quickly rubbed my chin in thought. Motioning at him to close the door, he did so, which afterwards I motioned for him to sit down. As he sat I sighed and rubbed my temples slowly, thinking.

"Look, Henry, I can understand you saying that and of course in some ways I agree with you. But recently things have been falling apart amongst us all... In fact, there have been multiple acts of treason and treachery recently; we have to do what we have to do. I'm sorry, but..." Trailing off I wondered at a quick thought, scanning Henry quickly I sighed again. I pieced together a plan in my head for this, Sara wanted to try and screw around with everything... Well... I might as well go along with her.

"Okay, Henry, I'm sorry, but Sara is working on very important studies and if she asked anyone to help her I'd have to accept. Even if she wanted to test upon me, she would be allowed. I apologise, but that's how it is..."

As Henry listened to what the colonel said his hopes of having it all sorted out were shot down. Henry stood up and said "Well, thank you colonel for your time, I'll just need a few minutes to take it in." Henry walked outside and as soon as he was out of earshot of the colonel he took his laser rifle and started to shoot up bottles and other junk at the shooting range. After wiping out an army of dummies Henry reluctantly gathered his things and reported in to Sara. He was halfway there when he saw her on her way to the colonel's office. "Private Henry Jones reporting for duty," He said along with a salute as sharp as ever. "What do you need me for?" he said, with any luck he'll simply get sent back without any harm done to him. He was meant to fight the BOS, not being experimented upon!

Sara smiled at Henry. She really wasn't used to being saluted. Even though she was an officer, she spent most of her time as a scientist.

"At ease private. And please don't salute me. I'm a doctor first and an officer second." Sara's tone was relaxed. It was unfortunate that right now she didn't have time for this, her business with the colonel taking priority.

"Listen, I need to see the colonel right now on an urgent matter. So why don't you be a dear and find something useful to do in the meantime. I will call you when I'm ready to take a blood sample." When Sara finished speaking, she continued towards the colonel's office.

Sara arrived at the door, which was open, and entered the office. Closing the door behind her she walked up to the desk.

"Colonel we need to talk." Sara paused for a moment and took on a very serious tone, a hint of evil showed in her eyes.

"In your announcement this morning, you mentioned something about Doctor Sorein' wanting volunteers to test his new gene implants. Sir," Sara never addressed superior officers as sir, it was always by rank. The word "sir" was reserved the most serious of situations.

"I can't help but wonder where this research came from, as I was not aware of any such project. It also seems a little strange that this is coming out now. Sir I have learned that this thing infecting us is not a disease. Although it resembles a virus in many ways, it is not a disease and is actually recoding our DNA in the most subtle way. That's why it was, until now, undetectable." Sara paused for a moment before continuing. She wanted to give the colonel a little time to take this in.

"I think I may have come up with a stall tactic, if you will. I should be able to come up with a way to temporarily halt it's progress. And if you will forgive me sir, I have a feeling you don't have very much time. This would give you some time before you change. A few days, a week, I don't know. But I need Sorein's research and to find out what he knows about all this." Sara paused again. Now she had to tell him the part he wasn't going to like. It was however the part that she liked most, and Sara smiled maliciously.

"Now I would assume it would be a very bad thing if General Winter found out what we were doing. And I can't help wondering if Sorein would tell him about my asking questions. So I can't help thinking that maybe Sorein should be, shall we say, retired from service; if you'll pardon the military vernacular." Sara couldn't help feeling a little sad right now. She was going to get to kill someone, and she wouldn't be able to torture them first. She wouldn't even be able to take a souvenir. No, it had to look like an accident.

Raising an eyebrow at Sara I sighed, "Your right, okay, here's what we'll do... You find out the info on the good Doctor, then stage an accident; I don't care what it is as long as it's effective. Make sure you aren't caught, hell, within the next ten minutes I'm sure there are no guards around or near him. He doesn't like the company of other people you see, all the info will be on his Terminal... The password was 'georgetomenphropose' last time I checked."

Tapping my fingers on the desk I looked up at her, "So, tell me, what's your plan to halt the disease a little? I'd like to know, considering at what I've guessed I have about two days left..." Trailing off I looked at the wall, with a grimace I felt my arms begin to twitch again. Scowling I controlled it with my mind to stop, this time it refused though. With a quick flash I got out of the seat and made my way to a painting on the side wall.

Moving it out of the way there was a safe, quickly entering in: '95-07-17'

The safe popped open, within a few seconds I pulled out a needle and instantly injected it into my arm. With a sigh I felt the twitching stop, throwing the needle back into the safe I shut it, placed the picture back over it and moved back to the chair. Sitting down I looked at Sara again, "As you can see... I'm getting worse each and every moment, so any help is appreciated. Also... Any help will, of course, be rewarded."

Sara watched as the colonel injected himself with the drug and observed his reaction. It was one she knew well and she became a little worried for colonel. Sara needed him alive for the moment. She couldn't do this without him.

"Sir I think you should stop taking that. We can't be sure if it's actually helping, though I think it unlikely." The evil smile had disappeared and Sara's demeanour became more professional.

"Sir, I feel I must take on the responsibility of being your physician. As a senior medical officer for the Enclave, and as it is written in section twelve, subsection three, paragraph four, of the Enclave Military regulations. Any senior science officer may restrict the activity of a senior officer if he or she feels the officer may be unfit for duty. The medical officer may remove said officer from active duty at his or her discretion." Sara paused for a moment and leaned in closer to the colonel.

"Now sir, while I would never remove you from duty, you need to do what I tell you medically. You have to stop taking any drug I don't prescribe you until I run a few more tests. And sir. This is for the good of all of us. I have reasons to suspect the drugs you are taking might actually be helping the spread. As for the treatment, though I can't be sure, I think some sort of electrical current, with the right combination of chemicals, might stunt it temporarily." Sara had said all she needed to. Although she was certain that the colonel didn't trust her. He couldn't allow himself to become compromised. The colonel had little choice in this matter if he wanted to stay in command, and if he wanted to keep on living. Besides, Sara was only following protocol.

"Let me guess, your thinking right now, or trying to make me think, your only following protocol?" I just laughed after I said that, followed by a few coughs. Sighing I quickly said, "Your probably right, I understand, of course... Yes, well, Captain, I must ask that you find a way to help me very soon; I can't take much more of this. The pain is not exactly what I want to deal with right now, and with what's happening I'm lucky to have a day or two left before it finishes it's course."

Looking off at the wall I sighed yet again, I was doing that a lot today, "Oh, I believe I forgot to send you one file on the disease. As well as that, from reports I've recently gotten, the armor is up and ready to go; trials will begin soon. I have to go down and oversee the tests for two days from early next morning, as such, if their's anything we need done; now's the time. Any questions, requests? Anything?"

Sitting back into the chair a bit more I let my eyes narrow, I wouldn't mention all the other reports I'd gotten as well just yet. Time was wasting, yet time was running...

The speakers came on again, the Colonel gave out bad news, Demetri sighed at it. Seems the brotherhood would most likely be outside the base soon. Demetri pulled himself off of his bed. Demetri turned off his music and made for the exit, Demetri needed to sort out guard duty rotation for the squad under his command.

Demetri stepped out of the barracks and was soon barged out of the way by two armoured soldiers, "Oi!" Demetri shouted at them to be replied as they carried on, "Sorry sir, this is important!" One of the soldiers shouted back and went off.

As Demetri made his way towards the command post, Demetri saw the same two soldiers from earlier, leading another man. "What he do?" Demetri asked, one of the soldiers looked at him, "Sorry sir, none$ of your concern." Demetri shrugged as he went away.

Demetri entered the command post and went into a room off of a corridor. Demetri sat behind one of the desks with a terminal. Demetri put his ID and password into the termina, a message popping up saying welcome. Demetri frowned, the technicians put it on, he had no idea why. Two more documents popped up on screen, the first was a confirmation of Captain Carter's promotion to her rank and the second was from his sergeant.

Demetri opened this document, it was a report of his squad, mainly about Private Brendon, who seemed to of deserted. "Idiot," Demetri said under his breath, any deserters who were caught were tortured, though usually no more then a beating, then put in front of a firing line.

Demetri started to write a report on this, and forwarded it on to his higher up. What that officer did was up to him, not Demetri's. Demetri pulled up the files on his squad and , Demetri didn't like to do it, it would tire his men, but all were given longer times, including himself. Demetri forwarded it onto his sergeant, who served as the administrator for the squad.

Demetri was glad to be doing all this, it took his mind off of the disease that he had been given.

In this moment something happened that was extremely rare, Though it happened often to other people, it was something that Sara did not usually experience. In this moment, Sara was confused. She needed a little time to come up with something that would work, and the colonel was about to become scarce. Did he not understand what was going to happen to him? Sara could not believe her ears.

"Sir I must protest this. I can't be one hundred per cent sure that I can come up with something in that short of a time I?" Sara stopped herself before she made an ass of herself any further. There could only be one explanation for it. He had his orders.

"I'm sorry sir. If you will excuse me, I will attend to that other matter." Sara didn't wait for a response and went out the door. She wanted to kick herself. Sara had reacted without thinking things through. She was worried that if something happened to the colonel, she wouldn't be long for this world.

Sara made her way to the science labs, stopping at her room before heading to Sorein's office. While there, she changed into her lab uniform, and grabbed a small case of syringes containing different concoctions, one of which she removed and placed up her sleeve. Sara walked the corridors until she reached the door to his office. She knocked at the door, which was closed with the shade drawn, and waited for a response.

"I'm very busy right now. Come back later." With that Sara entered the office, closing the door behind her.

"Doctor Sorein, it's been a while," Sara walked forward smiling and extended a hand.

"As I said, I'm sorry but I'm very busy at the moment." Sorein had a serious look on his face.

"Doctor I'm here about you implant research. I understand that you are looking for people to test it on." Sara sat down in a chair in front of the desk and smiled.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize. Well perhaps if you came to the lab in about an hour and we can -" Sara jumped in and cut him off.

"That's the reason I came her first doctor. I wanted to see the specs for the implant, and I assumed that you would have them on your computer here in your office. Please doctor, it will only take a minute." Sara had that pleading look again, though her tone was professional.

"Oh alright, come around here then." Sorein smiled and started typing on the terminal. Sara got up from the chair and moved around the desk behind Sorein. As she positioned herself behind him, she let the syringe fall from her sleeve and into her hand. "Now as you can see here, the device actually grafts -" Sara wasn't listening. She had brought her hands behind her back and removed the cap from the needle. No sooner had she done this then her hand brought the needle around, jamming it into the back of Sorein's head. He didn't have any time to react as Sara injected him with the compound that would paralyze him temporarily, and make him far easier to handle, should she not find out everything she needed form the terminal. Sara gently lowered his head onto the desk and moved him over do she had easy access to the terminal.

As Sorein had already logged in, Sara didn't need the password, even though the colonel had already given it to her. This was something she felt was a little strange, if the colonel already had access to the computer, why did she need to go and read the files. It seemed as if this was becoming more and more like a game of chess, and the king was making a bold move. It didn't take long for Sara to find the files on the disease. She browsed through them quickly, having already read them. These were the files the colonel had already given her, except for one. She could only presume this was the new file he had sent her from his office.

Sara thought about this for a nit. There was something she was missing. And it had to be on the computer. Of couse when the paralysis wore off, she could ask Sorein. But until then she had some work to do. Sara began to type code into the computer. Moving through every subsystem. Looking through every file. Her eye lit up as she found the locked and poorly hidden file. She first used the password the colonel had given her and found that it would not open. Sara began to hack her way into the folder. It didn't take long, and she started to read. Sara's face turned to one of anger the more she read. She didn't like what she had found and that it seemed that the colonel may have not been completely forthcoming with her. Srar sent a copy of the file to her terminal, and then erased all traces of her entry into the computer. She moved Soein back over to where he originally was, and then removed a syringe form the case.

"Well doctor, I think I have all I need. It has been a pleasure visiting with you. I have to say that I am truly sorry to have to take your life/ You truly are a gifted scientist." Sara was smiling and her voice was melodic.

"You can take some comfort in knowing that your death will not cause you any pain. The drug I am going to inject you with will cause you to have a stroke." Sara giggled. "Though that will probably hurt like hell." Sara pushed the needle into the back of his neck and pushed the plunger.

Blood sample? Crap. this confirmed his fears of being experimented upon. Henry had hoped that there may be a slight chance that he would simply be a guard or something, but now it was ruined. He walked through the corridors aimlessly until he came into a room with monitors. He decided to go in and try to see if he could contact some higher ups and tell them that what was happening here was not entirely legal or loyal to the Enclave. After he sent the report he notice someone else next to him. It was a sergeant who he realized as Demetri Green.

"Hey, you won't believe what a mess I got myself into. I somehow got conscripted into getting experimented upon like a guinea pig!" Henry said with disgust. "I just wish that I could have went somewhere else, this base is starting to get weird, I wonder why I couldn't have gotten assigned to somewhere else, anywhere, like in a different land. Perhaps Florida, hows your day been?"

Greg finished his shower and was now treating his wounds. His body looked though it had gone through hell, cuts and bruises where everywhere and some where still bleeding. He reached for the medical kit on the wall and took out the contents, stimpacks and other assorted medical items poured out. He injected the stimpack into his arm, feeling a surge of power throughout his body. He grabbed some gauze and cleaned up the remaining blood, which wasn't much as most of it went down the drain. After packing the remaining supplies into the medical kit, he had a great idea.

He placed a sign of his door that said "Cleaning up" and locked his door. He made sure Sara or Pavlic wasn't coming and walked down the corridor. He wasn't safe at all knowing that he could be killed whenever Pavlic felt like it, and needed something to defend himself. A command room came into presence and he walked in. He hoped the Colonel hadn't told anyone to look out for him.

He saw Henry and Demetri and smiled, they would do it for him. He walked up to them and began talking, " I need you both to retrieve a side-arm from the armory and deliver it to the apartment next to Sara's lab, located here". He handed Henry the note, " On the back of that note shows where I placed a small box above the door. Place it in there and press the button next to the door. Then leave immediately and make sure no-one saw you. Okay?"

Henry received the note from Greg and said "Why should we do that for you? I'm not some errand boy, now I can't speak for Demetri but I think you are in league with Sara and I will not do anything for you unless it is a direct order from Sara herself." Henry was also suspicious of all the cuts on him, they looked like they were pretty well healed but they looked recent. Henry then made Greg an offer, "look, I'm not doing anything for you unless help me, I'm tired of being kept in the dark. Fill me in on everything that's going on and I'll help."

Sara made her way down the corridor towards her lab. Everything had gone so well with Sorein. Once he had the stroke, Sara had immediately called for a med team.. When they arrived, they would Sara attending to Sorein as any good physician should. He was taken to the hospital and hooked up to life support, because of the coma he was now in. And of course the drugs were of her own design, and left the system very quickly, leaving no trace.

Sara passed by the door that had a sign on the handle which read "Cleaning up." Sara had to laugh a little when she saw it. She didn't really expect him to stay put, and was wondering what he could be up to. She opened the door to her lab and, closing it behind her, went immediately to her computer. Although Sara wanted to read mor of the information acquired from Sorein's computer, she needed to check on something else first.

Sara typed in the password and clicked on "Video Feed". The screen changed and she could see both the bathroom and main room of Greg's apartment. She wasn't surprised at all to see he wasn't there. Sara clicked on the words "Video Archive" and played it from the beginning. Putting it on fast forward, she watched as Greg placed a data tape into the desk and locked it. Sara smiled as she watched him go and take a shower. After which he dressed in the clothes provided for him, and then left the room.

Sara left the video and clicked on the words "Audio Transcription" and read everything that had already been said by Gregory, and those he was trying to recruit. She smiled at the fact that they were still talking. Getting up from the desk, Sara walked out the door and into Greg's apartment using her key. Sara walked over to the desk and unlocked it. Sara wanted to laugh out loud at how na?ve Greg was to think he could get away with anything at this point. Removing the tape from the desk, she relocked it, and returned ot her office.

Sara sat back down in front of the computer and opened the file she had retrieved from Sorein's computer and started to read. Keeping the conversation that Greg and Henry were having open in a smaller window so she could continue to monitor it. The wire which was implanted in Greg's clothes was doing it's job wonderfully.

With a jump I heard a large beeping sound usher from my Terminal, with a quick glance I felt my mood completely fall. With a light scowl I stood up, limping slightly I made my way to a small metal door in the side of the office. Opening it I moved into my personal armory, taking about ten minutes I placed on my power armor, slipped my turbo-plasma rifle on my back and my pistol at my side. Taking a few breaths I closed the locker I had opened and move back out of the room.

Moving quickly I went to the door, opened it then locked it behind me. Rushing for no apparent reason I left the Command Post and made my way to the Underground Entrance, taking a quick breath I walked in. Making my way through the dim hallways I went down deeper into the structure, until I came across an old elevator. Taking yet another breath I walked in through the doors and let it scan my armor up and down. It noted who I was and activated, moving down.

As I reached the bottom level of the underground base I stepped out into a bright light. There was a giant mainframe here, what remianed of our great President. No one else was here, walking towards the Mainframe I heard a quick start-up sequence eminate from it. Shaking my head lightly to myself I stood and waited for the machine to start talking. A few minutes went past until:

"Ah, Colonel Pavlic, it's good to see you here... As I'm sure you know, the time has come; Captain Carter has found out everything now. As such, it's time to put you into your final stages... Good luck, everything's almost ready; General Winter will take your spot as head until you return to us. God bless America."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Winter

The message came through the machine, it beeped furiously and the General smashed his fist upon the enter button. With a shock he read the message and nearly fell off his chair, he leant back and tapped his fingers together curiously. This changed things seriously, this wasn't meant to happen for a day or two... Scowling he leant forward and re-read it, after a minute or two he leant over to his microphone.

"Attention all Enclave soldiers, Colonel Pavlic is currently in stasis due to a rather terrible injury... All reports meant to go to him, or any questions that were wanted to be asked of him shall now be directed to either Captain Carter or myself; General Winter. Have a good day and... God Bless America."

Moving back into his chair a bit more again he tapped his fingers together yet again, remembering old thoughts...

Demetri had been working on the terminals for some time, though his train of thought was broken when the person next to him spoke. Demetri looked up to see it was private Henry Jones. That is sir to you, Demetri thought in his head, but since he was off duty Demetri let it slid. Demetri smilied to himself, seems Henry wanted to get everything out and he just kept saying about different things. "Alot better then yours it seems," Demetri replied to Henry's question, "Do not worry, we will all have to give blood samples or similiar later on.

Demetri tapped a few more keys on the terminal as he finished off rotor for his squad. Demetri looked up as a man stepped infront of their desks, it was Sergeant Gregory Anthony, asking them to assist him, "I remember seeing you being 'escorted', care to explain that to me?" Demetri asked, "Because it sounds like you want me to assist you which could end up with us all court martialed and then most likely shot."
