The Ice King

Post » Tue May 11, 2010 4:23 pm

It is 5 years after the Oblivion Crisis. The land is in harmony, with no wars going on to preserve troops in case of another crisis. No one could have expected this. Seemingly from out of no were, a thing appears. It is like nothing anyone has ever seen, as where ever it walks, the land becomes cold. Many hunters and foresters have seen this thing, which wears a cloak and robe as to conceal its features. They have reported it to the Elder Council, but they dismissed it for too much mead. But as the sightings became more frequent, the Council knew it was no drunk's imagination. They sent a battalion of troops to investigate were it had been the most, but when they didnt come back, they sent a search and rescue out. What they found was a battalion of troops..... frozen solid. The Council sent out another scout party to see what it was, but to remain hidden, and what they saw was Leyawiin covered in frost and caked with snow.

The scout party continued on to find the sorce in Leyawiin, and when they went in they found the population frozen. So the party went into the castle.... and saw a Frost Atronach. But it was not like any other Frost Atronachs they had seen. It was twice the size as normal and was in the shape of a human. The scout team ran back as fast as they could, although they had a feeling that the atronach had seen them. When they reported back to the High Chancellor, He sent all of his best mages to find something to stop it before Imperial City was frozen over. They studied for days on end, drinking nothing but there own sweat and eating nothing but... well, nothing. In the meantime the armies of hte other cities were holding back the frost. Finnaly, the mages had found something. A 'Key', supposedly hidden away in a cave to the north. The 'Key' would open up a cavern, which had an artifact of great power in it. The Amulet of Banishing. If would make what ever you used its power on disappear forever into the firey realm of Oblivion. But they needed a team to get it, and thats where you are.

---------------------------

You are one of the people on the team sent to find the 'Key'.

Name: Fehrgrisst Wolf-runt

Age: 17

Race: Nord

Gender: Male

Appearance: Scrawny, small nord with barely noticable facial hair beginning to grow. Darting, scrutinizing eyes, shaded by thin hair down to his nose.

Eye Color: Dark Aqua

Hair Color: Black

Skills: Major; Blade (Short over Long preferred), Alteration, Marksman, Light Armor. Minor; Alchemy, Sneak, Security, Mysticism, Destruction

Clothing: A tarnished red shirt and darkened brown pants.

Armor: Full leather, left glove giving a slight glow.

Weapons: Iron crossbow, full quiver of bolts (100), glass dagger - enchanted, named "Wyrmsbite" (Fire enchanted), silver sabre - "Fehrgrisst" etched on the blade.

Misc: Satchel across shoulder, mortar & pestle, 500 drakes, other miscellaneous items.

Personality: Never one to take someone at his word, Fehrgrisst eyes all with suspicion. Growing up in Valenwood does that to a person, especially if you aren't a Bosmer. However, it wasn't without it's perks. Never trusting someone gives him reason to be an eye for quality. To him, respect is not granted, but earned - something entwined in his family line of Nords, no doubt. It also gives him the idea that everyone may be out to get him, even those he respects. You might call him paranoid, but it keeps him alert, even when asleep. Away from Valenwood and into the capitol of the Empire, his scrutiny leads him outside the walls to the forests, so different from his home. He hunts, he forages, he respects life... And knows when and how to take it.

Bio: Fehrgrisst was raised in the heart of the Valenwood, near the palace of the Silvenar. No privacy meant everyone got to know the young Nord. This wasn't all bad, aside from the other children teasing him for not being a Bosmer. He was taught, like the other children, how to hunt and feed themselves if needed to. Something took him as odd, however, when the other children made snide comments about what Nord tastes like. Taking the time to learn the full culture of the Bosmer, he was appalled that they eat their dead.*

He left for the capitol soon after, with his father's sword and his mother's axe, and a parting gift from the Silvenar itself - Wyrmsbite, an enchanted dagger. A few months of supplies and sending-off presents from the locals he once called family and friends, and he headed to Cyrodiil, not knowing what awaited him.

He kept his crossbow loaded.

*See "A Dance In Fire"

EDIT: Fixed, finally.

EDIT V2.0: Again. >.<

The man took him to the Anvil and raised him by himself, called him Desmond.Surname was unknown so he just stuck with the boys first name. The hunter kept Desmond fit by making him run regularly and having hunting trips. When Desmond was old enough the hunter let him train with a blade. Desmond began to love training with his sword. When he was old enough the hunter let him go to the Fighters Guild. He trained there and grew better and better. Desmond progressed through the ranks sure but steadily. I edited this, didn't like the old one.

Nice sounds good. Let's see how rusty the old typing fingers have become shall we? Hope this is okay..?

Name: Selik

Age: 35

Race: Imperial

Gender: Male

Appearance: 5'10" , Used to be well built but his physique has begun to diminish the past few years, dark brown hair tied into wind braids, a slightly gaunt face a layer of shabby stubble plastered across it, narrow blue eyes and a small yet visible scar creeping down his left cheek.

Eye Color: Dark Blue

Hair Color: Brown, Greying in some areas

Major Skills: Blade, Block, Light Armour, Restoration, Marksman

Minor Skills: Blunt, Armourer, Speechcraft, Heavy Armour, Alchemy

Clothing: Grey Shirt with suspenders, Tan Linens, Doeskin shoes, leather bracers

Armor: Chainmail under-shirt, with a Leather armour vest over the top, Leather gauntlets, greaves and Boots, long forest green cloak

Weapons: Steel Braodsword, Steel War axe & Fine Steel Bow and roughly around 40 steel arrows

Misc: A few Repair hammers, apprentice alchemy equipment and 240 gold coins, 3 bottles of mead

Personality: Selik has tried to be friendly towards people, even with him being born an Imperial he would have thought it easier to talk to people but it wasn't. Selik can rarely make friends, even if someone was to save his life he would still dislike them. He retains alot of loyalty stemming from his previous job of an Imperial Legion Soldier. He prides himself on what he believes to be his intelligence although he isn't as smart as he would like.

Bio: Was born under The Warrior and grew up on a small cottage Southeast of Chorrol. His father had died serving in the legion when he was a small boy so He and his mother made the best of their lives, growing crops, caring for the animals. His father's death inspired him to join the legion although his mother would always shoo him away from the idea. Eventually Selik left home at the age of 19 and decided to, against his mothers wisdom, join the legion. He served as well as he could, aiding the Empire through the dreaded "Oblivion Crisis". Several years ago was the bleakest part of his life yet, whilst patrolling the black road, he spotted a reddish glow coming from across a small grassland area. Panic stricken Selik recognized what had happened instantly. His cottage had been burnt to the ground, his poor mother slain along with every animal that stood living. Selik was overtook by grief, ashamed he had not been there for his mother. A few weeks later, Selik resigned from the Imperial Legion, constantly plagued by the visage of his childhood home desecrated.
In the weeks to come Selik moved up north, to Bruma, where sadly he took up drinking. The mead and ale, as nice as it was, slowly began to destroy him. Most days he just wasted away, drinking and every now and again, venturing out of Bruma's gates hoping to rekindle his life with adventure. But no, he would just end up back in Olav's ordering more alcohol, and In Selik's mind, he was quite happy doing so, knowing that nothing would ever re-ignite his life...

Personality: He stupid but know's how to really charm woman..... well nord woman anyways. He usually looked down upon by others due to his drunkness.

Bio:

Jourdon was born in Skyrim like most nords. He moved to Cyrodil when he was in his 20's where he joined the imperial legion where he formed a drinking habit and got the name of the drunken solider. Sadly due to his bad drinking habit he would always be caught drunk on the job and eventually was fired. Years later he moved to bruma, where his drinking worsened. He eventually started getting thrown out bars for starting bar fights. And soon was thrown right into a bruma dunegon after killing someone one night during one of his usual bar fights. He's spent 10 years in jail and is now being let go to help the imperial legion once more.

Other woman find his act repulsive and unattractive. Nord woman find his act very sixy, he's usually seen spending the night with many of them (you can use your imagination what takes place)

Yes he does. I hate to intrude on your RP but character sheets are for the people RPing, not actually for the characters.

This is a general rule, and it's mentioned in Illusionary Nothing's bible guide.

ah but i don't get why people like that guide so much. It's just a guide to rping theres hundreds of others online. Even ones that go deeper into rping. He barely even mentions what to put in the personality section of your character.

First things first, Illusionary is a 'she', not a 'he'. And how could you criticise the guide? Do you really think you could do any better? She busted her ass doing work for that for RPers like us and you act as if it's utter garbage. If people didn't read the guide they probably wouldn't be as good as they are today, I certainly wouldn't of (I'm not implying that I'm amazing by the way). I also recommend that instead of insulting the guide, you actually read it carefully, and then work on your spelling and grammar.

Apologies to Pandaman for this little argument, but it needed to be said.

Should I point out that we don't have to make this into a nonsensical arguement, inadvertently destroying the whole RP thread?

Let's stick to story, eh? Send a message through PMs if ya need to. Otherwise it just looks silly. >_<

EDIT: Ignore this, actually, realized it's labeled a 'sign-up thread'. Carry on.
