The Immortal Blood Timeline

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys, but I'm pretty sure im gonna be completely absent for a few days. Tomorrow I'm going for an evaluation of my severe state of depression. I'm not sure when I'll be back, exactly, hopefully not long, but I don't know.

No problem Tidus, we'll hold the fort down :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOS!

Woot!

Also, this fight should be quite interesting. Swordsinger versus Simithara's spirits... I think the Shehai wielder might be the only one that can really affect the spirits, and I know it'll be fun trying to find a way to crack him to bits.

I can't wait.... hehe. Necromancy is fun.

The fight is interesting, as for Raza being the only one to fight off the spirits and undead, I was talking to crazy about the swordsinger weapons, which are said to be imbued with Yokudan magic which I'd say made them of silver quality atleast, I'll check up and provide the link in a bit, but yeah this will be fun.

Also, on her being able to manipulate Raza's shehai, I might add in like a tug, or maybe momentary lapse of control that affects performance, since he's living and well in charge of the Shehai.

Ah.... Magical enchanted item then... might make the fight more interesting. But even with the imbuing, they aren't gonna go down easily. Spirits are more resilient to magic in general than men as well, so silver is best, Magical is good for lack of silver. :)

As for the Shehai bit... I had no intention of Simithara outright manipulating it or his soul, but if she does perform voodoo on him, it's certainly gonna mess up his mojo, I'd imagine. Since he's alive, makes the magic less effective on him.

The swords are made using magic but that doesn't mean it has to be enchanted.

This element of empire society grew from the desert artisans and was initially recruited from the young sons and daughters of the high families. They built the first temple to the unknown gods of War and build a training hall "The Hall of the Virtues of War". Within a few generations the way of the sword - the song of the blade - had become their life. The people of the blade kept their poetry and artisanship in building beautiful swords woven with magic and powers from the unknown gods. The greatest among them became known as Ansei or "Saints of the Sword". Each of these began their own training schools teaching their individual way of the sword. Those Ansei of the highest virtue wandered the country side engaging in battle, righting wrongs, and seeking to end the strife.

Thats from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Redguards,_Their_History_and_Their_Heroes

So I am going to leave it up for decision if people should feel that their blades affect the undead. I have nothing wrong with it swinging anyway, but even Dwemer, Orcish, and Elven weapons affect ghosts and undead.

I also wasn't referring to the blades as all being silver, more of the fact that a Swordsinger crafted weapon should be of the quality as all the other higher end weapons are.

I just meant it would class as that sort of weapon, not that it actually is one.

According to UESP, only http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Daedric_Longsword#Daedric_Longswordweapons affect ghosts in Oblivion. There isn't any information on how it works in Morrowind, although I vaguely recall ebony working on ghosts there.

I think Ebony worked, sensible since Daedric is technically imbued ebony ANYWAYS.

I'm not certain, but I though anything better than silver worked. I might be wrong though, can't remember.

I personally liked this because it gave silver a unique property and the mineral itself had a "magic feel" to it. You can throw alot of flavor and lore behind it too, silver being the weapon of necromancer hunters and that type of thing. I think it's better then "this type is slightly better then this type at x cost of weight."

I'm going to make a thread in lore concerning this, but so far in all games, any weapon with a quality above silver defeats undead. The same UESP site also discusses any weapons better then silver ignore the normal weapons resistance.

Lore wise, I can say that ebony affects undead and ghosts because its Godsblood, from the blood of Lorkhan. SIlver because thats just the way [censored] is, silver hurts vampires...yeah...

Elven, maybe because thats how the elves rolled.

Glass, definitely has something to do with it being volcanic glass from Red Mountain, perhaps its close proximity to Lorkhan.

Leaves Orish, Dwemer, and basically all weapons beside steel and Iron ignoring normal weapons resistance. I checked in the Morrowind Construction Set, ever weapon above silver affected all creatures. Immortal needing further evidence, asked me to try it in game, same deal.

In oblivion, I fondly recall killing all kinds of goofy [censored] with most weapons, although I have no fresh copy here.

Casey asked me how many ghosts have I seen go through glass and so i basically told Story that that point trumps up any proof he could ever provide. :P

Keep in mind the specification between undead and ghost. Also "resist normal weapon" may not be the basis of which ghosts are unaffected by non silver/daedric weapons.

It is. And ghosts are undead goofnuts, the ancestor ghost has the same resistance. And you even had me load up morrowind and find a non silver or daedric weapon to kill Ghosts, and I did.

I don't think my elven weapons ever managed to affect ghosts....

I believe it is a normal weapon immunity, not resistance. *shrugs*

The lore thread so far states that oblivion, normal weapons besides silver and daedric do not effect ghosts.

In morrowind its different.

So I assume the people want the Oblivion version of ghosts, over the morrowind version. I'll begin typing up my response soon anyway, with my dwemer submarines come to torpedo you guys. Tacticality baby, I'm like a scientist.

Though the last thing I want to do is give the Ra'Gada some kind of help, there have been weapons that aren't enchanted, but made by the gods that are able to damage ghosts. Example: The Sword of Jyggalag. It's an unenchanted blade, but since made by a god, it can cut ghosts. So, if their swords are made by gods, whether the Imperials believe in them or not, their swords should be able to damage ghosts. :/

Edit: Not made by the gods but, woven with some of the gods jamba juice or whatever they use to make stuff magical.

Likely the blades of Swordsingers would display this attribute specifically, as they are made by the nest sword artisans in the world, imbued with the power of the Unknown Gods of War through their delicately intricate forging methods, or something like that. Probably not as effective as enchantments or Daedric equipment, or silver, but probably equivalent to wielding steel against orcish Armor. Not the smartest thing in terms of material strength, but it would still work.

Status Report

I haven't anything to do, except, I suppose, go into the council chamber at Dawnstar. In fact, I'll do that.

"Mago & His Militia" having recently released a groundbreaking album called [Waking Up To] Lights At Night, are now waiting within Dragon Grove to see who is exactly outside the walls.

If anyone's waiting on me, give me a yell. Long weekend 'cause of public holidays here, so I'm free to respond at need.
