Whoa whoa.. wait a second.

SoS actually got somewhere? I waited about a month after Akronos killed Ocato and nothing happened. So... what exactly happened after the RP just decided to pick up again?

Actually the final battle was skipped due to RL demands for many RPers. IIRC it'll be picked up when everything is back to normal, but for now Hammerfall is independant and Sentinel, while not having united it yet, is the leading power.

Could someone describe the situation right now, concerning this final battle? Like basic troop positions and such.

Oh and someone give me a quick description of the palace Akronos was just in so I could have him escape... unless time's progressed too far and we've assumed he got out?

I'm going to leave the navy aspect alone for now besides being transport. When we get more settled I will expand that aspect.

You'll notice that the Nordic force under Rurik grew a bit. I've included the Bretic conscripts and the reinforcements from Solitude (still on their way) into the sheet, so now at least the Nordic army isn't tiny.

Won't be on a whole lot till next weekend,

I am considering making another character out of Dragonstar, to help the Nordic army,

because we should have more troops than Breton states.

I am going to take more time on this new character, and make him a lot better, I have a better feel now.

My other character will probably die because he leads the front of the army.

Edit: Yes, I am ready for some cloud spring. But if I am unable to get on for the mid week monday through thursday, Anticlere, you can control my character since he is in you unit,

just for the battle if I happen to miss it, just don't get him killed

As I'm fairly certain I've told you in a PM, Rurik's troops won't be taking part in Cloud Spring. Germanicus and his troops will be doing that, Rurik will aid them only if things look bad.

CHARACTER SHEET:

Name: Hakar Dragon-Eye
Race: Nord
Birthsign: The Warrior
Age: 42
Appearance data: 6'4 235 pounds.
Appearance description: A tall and muscular Nord, He wears a rugged eye-patch, with a large seemingly story telling scar running down over his eye socket. He wears standard Nordic steel armor, except it, in some parts, is painted red. His normal hair is brown, but his head is shaved. He has scars on his arms from past battles, as he is a veteran. He wields a giant sword, with nordic engravings ingraved, "Long live Dragonstar." His side arm are two 30 pound, 2 sided axes.

History: Started out as a soldier at a young age for Skyrim, He moved through the ranks, as a superior commander and fighter, more than any regular soldier. He participated in many skirmishes with foes on the border such as the Altmer that wanted to take the city back, and different gigantic groups of bandit gangs and raiders. When the invasion of Morrowind came, he went into battle, as a War-chief, but had to return to his home, Dragonstar, because his right eye was punctured out in a battle. After the war, he fought skirmishes with foes near the border, and protected Dragonstar. As Dragon star is on the borer of Hammerfel and Skyrim, he took the city fullyin Skyrim's control. The King of Dragonstar promoted him to head general of the city, and he has heard of Rurik's invasion, and wants to participate. The king has allowed him to take troops to assist Rurik and his companions. He has gotten his unit ready, and they are marching for Raven spring,

(this is based on the idea that Dragonstar was conquered fully by the Nords, and that Daggerfall's half was taken over)

Unit Sheet: (10,110)

This guy is carrying too much weaponry to even be able to walk properly. Sixty pounds worth of battle-axe is not a sidearm by any stretch of the imagination.

Edit: spelling is for communists!

Edit again: This force is consuming ridiculous amounts of steel. Archers dont wear steel armour, nor do light infantry.

Chainmail is effective enough against swords, and cheaper!
Archers at the most should be getting probably MAYBE a steel helmet and some bracers.
Unless they're horse archers, then they can be kitted out a bit better, but still need to be able to move.

Personally I'm not against armored archers, not like there's a rule that says they HAVE to have very light armor as it seems from the reaction. I don't have it now, but I recall seeing a picture of a heavily armored Ghazi bowman. Hell, my Nordic archers for Rurik wear hauberks.

That being said, presuming that the 'Nordic Steel' means plate, and considering the presence of Mithril and Dwemer armors, it's far too expensive for a single recently formed city-state, and, as was said, come on... Light infantry? With plate?

That's probably the bigger "issue" as they are called light infantry but are essentially not.

I don't see why archers can't be decked out in full steel, but your obviously sacrificing their mobility. Though obviously they would be as vulnerable....
I can't imagine how much that would cost.....

Isn't mail cheaper?

And Hauberks allow quite a bit of mobility, so no big deal.

Cheaper is relative. Compared to cost of platemail, a chain hauberk is pretty cheap, but it's still pretty frikin expensive. That why, unless they scavenged it or had an insanely rich lord, you would rarely see common infantry armed something above a padded gambesons. Until around the 1400s when Brigandine became popular, which is pretty cheap and offers decent protection and mobility. Heck, chainmail is not conducive to mobility anymore than plate is. Emperor Barbarossa drowned in his armor, and even if you aren't in water, you still have to deal with a load of metal dangling from your shoulders, which is very uncomfortable.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, chain hauberks are heavy and not fun to wear. That's why all my military is armed in really light armour.
