[WIP] The Instigator

Symiaz, maybe you should just find a new team that wants to help you make this mod. A fresh start with a new team. I'm sure that there's people that want to work on such an epic scale quest mod. Just make a new topic here on this forum, saying something like"Help Wanted" , and surely some people will be coming to help. I'd love to help too, though I'm not good with the Construction Set yet, but maybe you could make me do some stuff that takes lots of time but ain't too hard. I'd realy like to do that.

Good luck,
John

Speaking from a purely selfish point of view, I would absolutely vote that you continue creating the mod in the originally intended, epic form. From what you've said of it, it sounds like the story will be truly incredible. Your other mods have had fantastic stories so I can't even imagine how great your magnum opus would be. However I do realize the amount of work involved at the same time. You're the only one who can make the final call because only you know the actual amount of work involved. But just know that there are many people who would appreciate your efforts to bring this mod to completion in all of its greatness. I would love to see this completed some day.

yes, I would love to see the mod completed how it was supposed to be and I'm sure many others would as well. But you are the maker, and if you aren't enjoying yourself while your making the mod I suppose it isn't really worth it to you. You have to do what makes you happy. Perhaps take a break for a little bit so that the frustrations of modding aren't as many and then when you are motivated again or inspiration comes to you, run at the mod with all you got and make it how it was supposed to be. I suppose a new team would help as well, look at the dark brotherhood chronicles. That team has changed multiple times and they are still progressing. I loved your other mods and I'm sure that this can be just as groundbreaking as those before it. I hope the words of the community will help you out :icecream:

Sim,

Option 2.
firstly for your sanity.
secondly a merging of the mods would make a massive splash in the modding world.
(how often have I been wrong..no don't answer that :D)

I am a big fan of your mods and appreciate your request for feedback from the community.

I will quote William for my position on the question. "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man".

So this will be voice acted? Havn't played Malevolent yet but I remember that Ruined-Tail's tale and Tiers of the Fiend - whilst awesome - were not VA'd

A released mod is worth 100 vaporware WIP mods.

Read post #50 above. Also, it seems Simyaz has been present on the boards as recently as Feb. 7, but he hasn't posted since September.

I've read that, but I meant if there's been any updates on his decision. :)

I really hope at least part of this comes out. Maybe Simyaz just needed a break from it to gather his mind. Perhaps it is THAT mindblowing :P

Evening all,

Well, now that 1/3rd of the CS-related work on my new MOD is complete, I suppose that it's time to give it a bit of a promotional boost.

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Simyaz/Newspaper01.jpg, is a deliberately controversial story-driven quest MOD focusing on Philosophy, Ideology and Sociology (bounded in elements of psychology, morality and even spirituality).

Backed by the co-development of Arilita, the guidence of Wizard of Thay, and the unparalleled acting talents of Persian Paladin and Ibsen's Ghost (Ibsen3), http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Simyaz/Newspaper01.jpg will combine similar storytelling styles to Malevolent and Tears of the Fiend, but with a focus on my favourite objective-discussion topics.

This is the sort of MOD where anyone who is unable to look at the context objectively (instead maintaining a subjective viewpoint) will simply fail to understand anything except the Malevolent-esque storytelling, ultimately missing the complex purpose of the MOD.

The MOD is divided into 3 parts:

I - What is the Instigator?
II - The Former Instigator.
III - The Instigator.

And -as iterated previously- Part I's CS-work is almost completed, which means that soon I will be forwarding the 52 A4 page script (for part 1 alone) to our voice actors to turn text into context. The completed MOD will incorporate all 3 parts upon release.

You can view the Black Horse Courier Newspaper article on http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Simyaz/Newspaper01.jpg here: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/Simyaz/Newspaper01.jpg (Thanks Arilita.)

Update 23rd February:

The highly talented Nivea has joined us as our resident Modeller to create a set of "traditional"-esque clothing for some of the characters in this MOD. I've seen the "work-in-progress" design so far, and can genuinely say that it is precisely on target with how I imagined it, adding a decidedly unique look to the rather bland styles of most custom clothing (and certainly the vanilla attire.) More information coming soon.

Simyaz has been active on the Nexus forums as recently as late March, so he's not dead... I still hold out hope that he's working at this. So many people have enjoyed his mods immensely... I hope he knows how much we all appreciate what he's given us :)
