The Island of Menyan

The Island of Menyan

The Island has returned!!

Fourth Era, Year 12

Just recently, a group of people from all walks of life were on their way to Summerset Isle. Cyrodiil had become a breeding ground of crime, injustice and corruption. But Summerset, on the other hand, grew prosperous and branched out, making new laws and getting rid of the old ones. Summerset had become the center of immigration, trade and commerce.

A large ship called "The Philologus" was to set sail from the dock of Anvil, riding the waves to Summerset in hopes of a better life and a heavier coinpurse. But the crewmen of the boat mispredicted a storm rolling in from the north. The storm rolled the waters of the Abecean, throwing the Philologus many miles off course and killing most of the crewmen.

The ship was tossed onto an island in the middle of the ocean, destroying the hull and rendering it useless. The group was then stuck on an island, an eternity from civilization.

This is where you come in. You are a member of the group that crashed on the island. Here is the http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk278/SMZ_2008/MenyanIsland.jpg.

My Character Sheet

Name: Validus Bellator
Nickname: None
Age: 35
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Birthsign: The Steed

Focus: Combat
Class: Swordsman
Skills: Blade, Heavy Armor, Smithing

Physical Description: Validus is the same size as a normal Imperial, but he is slightly more toned and muscular due to his training. His face has several unflattering scars that downplay the attractiveness he once had as a younger man.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Hair: Long and black as the void. It stops at the base of his neck.
Eye Color: Deep blue
Scars/Tattoos: Several on his face due to the lack of helmet worn during battle. A tattoo of Talos' symbol on his left bicep.

Armor/Clothing: He wears a full suit of black steel armor with a red cloth padding underneath for comfort. When not wearing his armor, he wears a white shirt with black leather pants and knee high leather boots.
Weapons: He carries an Ebony blade that he made himself. It has a crimson hilt and an ivory scabbard.

Inventory: A map of Summerset, gold, and a mahogany pipe with a bag of tobacco.

Bio: Validus was born into a noble family. His father was a mine owner, granting his every desire from black stallions to new swords. But as he grew older, he began to lose interest in material things, wanting to make things of his own to use as he pleased.

When he reached his twenties, he began training gladiators for the arena. But after Cyrodiil became a wasteland of injustice and crime, he left for Anvil and boarded the next boat to Summerset.

He is now one of the people who are now stranded on an island, trying to stay alive and looking for a way off the island.

You have no bio for your character.. I hate to nitpick, but I'd like to know how he has a full suit of black armor and where he got the materials and skills to create an ebony sword with an ivory scabbard.

If they are shipwrecked on an island, i'd like to know how he managed to keep his suit of armour at all.

Armour on such an island is a stupid idea anyway, as the joints would get clogged with sand, it would be extremely heavy and hard to wear in the heat, and there is no reason to wear it in the first place.

Name: J'Daska
Hand puppets name: Mr. Kittysworth
Age: 27
Race: Khajiit
Gender: male
Birthsign: The Theif (Except instead the only increase he gets is +20 Luck)

Focus: mage
Class: Insane Puppeteer
Skills: He is skilled at destruction magic, Climbing, alchemy, and acrobatics

Mental Description: He's actually pretty crazy or insane and actually has a hand puppet that he believes is real and actually talks, he's usually seen walking around with it on his hand and uses it when he talks with other people or talks to it when he's by himself. The puppet resembles a common house cat. He may also draw faces on objects he sees and interact with those objects as if he could actually understand what they were saying. Also screams at walls for no apparent reason.
Physical Description: Short golden brown fur
Height: 5.6 feet
Weight:140 pounds
Hair: Headband style hair
Eye Color: Unlike most Khajiits for some reason his eyes are grey. Most likely the cause of a birth defect as he is unable to use night eye or the eye of fear.
Scars/Tattoos: None

Armor/Clothing: green collared shirt, breeches and braded sandles.
Weapons: The only thing he has is a hand puppet he keeps on his hands at all time.
Inventory: Only a hand puppet that resembles a black house cat.

Misc: During random times during a conversation and he has his hand puppet out he'll speak complete jibberish and then have his hand puppet pretend to translate what he said.

Bio: When he was 20 he was an amazing puppeteer and actually made money performing at bars, he had made a good bit of gold. He was never orginally insane but sadly near the end of the 3rd era when the door to the shivering isles opened, he had entered in to expand his buisness else where but when he returned to Cyrodil he had been driven completely insane, where he then mistook his hand puppet to be a real person and started talking to it. He has been an insane person for several years since then and was tooken aboard the ship to be taken to an assylum in the summerset isles.

First off, that is a crazy original sheet Fox. I'll see how you use it, but...man. I agree that the equipment is a little much, Veneficius, maybe a cuirass or boots... But the sword tipped it. Anyway, yeah, I've joined several island survival RPs, but none worked out. Fingers crossed for this one, I'll edit an old sailor sheet and have it to you soon.

Well if you knew about the last one (and gave us credit as smart enough folk to know those things), you would have seen that nobody actually wore there armor on the island.... And sometimes the bio isn't out in, because the person intends to keep his bio secret, letting hints out through the RP.

i'll draw up a new sheet and send it to you.

He's a smith, Darkom. I don't understand what's wrong with his armor? I've had this character a long, long, long time and no one has ever had much to say about it. Besides, in the past, I made him take it off on the island due to the reasons stated above.

I'm sorry if I am coming off as an ass. But if it is that much of a problem, I would more than gladly change it.

EDIT: Here is the first thread if any of you want to read through it. http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=867029&hl=

Name: Malinus Ferus
Nickname: Mal
Age: 51
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Birthsign: The Warrior

Focus: Combat
Class: Ex-Legionnaire
Skills: Blade, Heavy Armor, Destruction

Mental Description: He is pessimistic, and watching corruption and crime run rampant has given him a grim personality. He only has one person he considers his friend, a noble named Caius Cassidius. He dislikes dunmer and despises criminals. When dealing with criminals he is very harsh, once almost beating to death a thief who stole his ring. He considers people who wouldn't give their lives for their friends and family cowards.

Physical Description: He has lost most of the muscles he gained in his youth, but is still fit for his age. He is bald with brown eyes and many faded scars on his chest and back. One wound on his back never completely healed. It's a gash going from his left shouder to his right thigh.

Height: 5'8
Weight: 142lb
Hair: Bald
Eye Color: Brown
Scars/Tattoos: Many faded scars and a gash on his back.

Armor/Clothing: A dirty quited doublet, light brown linens, and a pair of leather boots. For armor, he has a rusted set of Legion Armor, but it's really only a keepsake from his many years of service, and wouldn't be practical in use.
Weapons: An iron dagger in his right boot and a steel claymore he used in the Legion.
Inventory: An enchanted copper ring. The ring has a feather enchantment, that allows him to wield his claymore and use his armor despite his old age.

Misc: Is terrified of deadra, and will freeze when he sees one.

Bio: Mal was born in Bravil to poor parents, so he joined the Legion at 18 to escape his life of poverty. He got married at 20 to his now deceased wife Elisa, who was murdered several years later by a Dunmer. He spent the next 5 years trying to track him down with the Legions consent, but when he finally found him, he appered genuinly sorry about Elisa. Mal decided to let the man live, but when he turned his back, the man pulled a dagger and gave Mal the wound on his back. It took him two years to recover from the wound, and he now considers pity a weakness.

After recieving the wound, he retired from combat, opting to become a instructor of new recruits in the Legion instead. He remained at that post for the next 20 years, when he decided to retire. In the latter years of his career, he became increasingly weak, and so commisioned the mages guild to enchant a ring to allow him to continue his service. He grew so accustomed to wearing it that he now wears it all the time. On his 51st birthday, he decided to live out the rest of his life in the Summerset Isle, with his brother Alus, who had a cottage in the city of Sunhold. Though he was fairly poor, he managed to get his friend Caius Cassidius to get him a spot on the next boat to Summerset, since he was also going there. For one of the first times since Elisa's death, he felt like things were going to turn out well.....

And here's Malinus to make his return.

Ha ha PMing sheet to you now. Btw I didn't include the focus so it will be stealth.
I've been waiting for a survival RP to pop up for a long time, I couldn't be bothered to make one and my RP's fail anyway.

Ignore the first one, I will post the edited version to you.

It's not really a problem, but I am very keen on minimalist citizen characters. Your call.

My CS then:
Name: Farnet
Age: 29
Race: Redguard
Gender: Male

Class: Sailor/Navigator
Skills: Athletics, Hand to Hand, Light Armor, Navigating, Sailing, and Cooking

Physical Description: Farnet has brown eyes, black cropped hair, and an average amount of muscle, not skinny or large, but a good balance for his navigating/sailing career. His wrists are scarred and his hands are callused from rigging ropes and other jobs associated with sailing.

Mental Description: A very professional man, he has a very dry sense of humor. He rarely socializes, but loves his friends and family deeply, and is very faithful and trustworthy as he does not want to lose the few friends he has. His main drive is money to support his still growing family. He is away for months at a time, and spends almost every minute at home with his wife and daughter.

Armor: Was wearing no armor at the time of the crash.

Clothing: Upon the crash landing at the island, he was wearing a brown cotton shirt and rough tan pants. He was also without shoes.

Weapon/s : None
Miscellaneous: He grabbed a small bag containing a few articles of clothing, a coil of rope, and a few pieces of food. He also has with him a small locket containing the painted image of his wife and daughter around his neck.

Bio : Nothing extraordinary about his past, he grew up in Rihad, Hammerfell. His father was also a sailor, and was away for years at a time, something Farnet vowed never to do to his family (the longest time he has ever been at sea is two months) His mother lamented his absence, and grew bitter. Him declaring he was moving the family to Anvil was the last straw for Farnet's mother, as she stayed in Rihad with Farnet's brother. Farnet grew up in Anvil, apprenticing to a ship captain until he became an advlt. He met his wife for the first time in a tavern after returning from a long voyage out to sea.

Things of note: His biggest fear is his wife leaving him or his children growing up without knowing their father. He commonly holds on to his locket when afraid or homesick. He is frequently victim to nightmares, and does not sleep well.

Boats are expensive, Vum. How did an 18 year old get that kind of money? And if a pirate crew stole it he'd get pretty screwed over financially.

If it's on the small side it's possible, especially with a loan. But I'd rahter call it a boat rather than ship which tend used for the larger end of the naval spectrum.

Name: Jimri
Nickname:
Age: 45
Race: bosmer
Gender: female
Birthsign: the shadow

Focus: stealth
Class: 'investigator'
Skills: acrobatics, sneak, security, illusion, unarmed combat

Mental Description: Jimri is a rather easygoing girl, with a shameless appreciation for the nice things that makes life comfortable. She hasn't the same appreciation for the law, but finds it easier to work within it's limit - stretching them a bit if necessary - rather than blatant illegality. She's a bit of a cynic, having seem more than her share of jaded nobles, greedy merchants, horny artists and the like.

Physical Description: Jimri is a somewhat small but fit and pretty bosmer, with a nice visage brightened by two large green eyes and a warm smile. She's slim and well built, her body toned by a lot of dancing and riding (well, that's the official version, more from climbing and practicing martial arts). Of course her current appearance isn't exactly at her best, with her dress a soaked ruin, and her hair not much better.
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 90lbs
Hair: light brown with coppery glint
Eye Color: bright green
Scars/Tattoos:

Armor/Clothing: rather ruined green brocade robe - shortened to knee length, cuffs cut to the elbow.
Weapons: none
Inventory:belt pouch with 700 septim worth of gems, a set of quality lockpicks and a small knife (worthless as a weapon)

Misc:

Bio: Jimri is the third daughter (and sixth shild) of a rather sucessful merchant, specialized in moving exotic articles between Cyrodill and Valenwood. As such she enjoyed the hospitality of more than a few nobles, poking her nose into their dirty laundry out of curiosity. Until the day she was caught by his father's banker in his own office, checking her father's credit line (he had refused her some present, stating he couldn't afford it. She thought it a lie and decided to check by herself..
Rather than sending her back to his father, the banker though he could use her skills. Basically inserting herself into some noble's entourage, then sneaking whre she didn't belong to either check facts or pilfering some debtor's items of value.
This was a good life, and she enjoyed it for all it was worth, until one obnoxious noble suspected she might be involved with the disappearance of his family jewels. A meeting with a pair of possibly Dark Brotherhood thugs later, Jimri decided that getting lost for a while would be good. Though she didn't expect to end up that lost.

Validus awoke, sitting up to view the ocean gently washing the shore. He was in slight pain and was grateful he landed on the sand that broke his fall. He moved his hand to his face, which was sticky with blood.

His armor was scraqed and dented in several places; most of the joints in between them were caked with sand. I would have had to take it off anyways. He thought as he began to remove his armor. Validus looked around as he did so and noticed several more bodies on the shore. Most were lifeless but others he could see still breathing.

The ship was now nothing but scrap and driftwood dotted the shore. We're not getting anywhere with that.

Frederick awoke and squinted in the afternoon sun. All he could remember was the ship being tossed relentlessly across the waves... The lightning striking the ship...
He looked around and saw a figure in black armor stirring.

"Hey! You there!" Frederick shouted.

He stood up and stumbled over to the man and clumsily helped him up, after. Frederick turned and saw a few more bodies stirring, the rest dead.
He looked out at the waves and turned back to the man, whom he knew by his armor. It was Validus.
"You right mate? Most of the others don't look it, me though. I'm fine."
