Bio: Ashina has spent the majority of her life in the Ashlands, with her father and the rest of the tribe. She originally intended to be a priestess of Azura, but after her brother was killed hunting alit when she was in her early thirties it became obvious that was she was to be the next ashkhan. She did not expect that that would be for another few centuries, of course, as her father was only six hundred and fifty years of age and was a powerful wizard, and also had the blessings of Azura to keep him younger than his actual age.
However, the Hlaalu tide was lapping against the shores of the Zelaku camp, and the tribe was forced onto the defensive, raiding mines and small ports to stop the export of ebony and to weaken Imperial influence on the island. This saw them fight a destructive war with the Zainab, and Ashina was briefly taken prisoner by their ashkhan and his wife, and, upon the threat of his daughter being sold into slavery, Ashina's father relented, and accepted the Zainab's peace conditions.
The result was crippling debt that left the tribe impoverished, without the hunting rights or the ebony mines to pay for the imports of food and clothing. The ashkhan's influence fell, and the gulakhans and Ashina's sister began to recognise the need to give Ashina more influence. They taught her the use of weapons, both melee and marksman, respectively, and illusion magic, and she began to lead hunts and raids at the age of fifty. However, they also instilled in her a deep hatred of Imperials and Nords, and taught her Morrowind's history with a pro-Dunmeri slant at all times.
When the Imperials, controlled by Duke Vedam Dren, called for the tribe's eviction, as the Zainab had complained about them threatening exports in their hunt for food, Assamma-Idan, Ashina, and Sakira conspired to kill the Zainab ashkhan.
They invited him to a challenge for sport, to make sure he was armed so they did not breach Ashlander customs in slaying him, and the two sisters killed him whilst Assamma-Idan kept the ashkhan distracted with the false news of a Zainab raid approaching from the west.
The Hlaalu heard of the slaughter, and, using it as an excuse to break the normal laws, saw the differences in opinion amongst the Ashlanders between whether Assamma-Idan or Sakira should be the most powerful. They planned a coup which saw the ashkhan and many of his soldiers killed, and then looked through the yurts for anything of value.
This is when Ashina chose to strike. She razed the camp, and fled, arriving in Cyrodiil, and instead of allowed her tribe to settle in Cheydinhal as she had been commanded, she tried to massacre the city after crossing the Velothi Mountains. But her, her husband, her mother, and her children, and the rest of the tribe, fled when the garrison sallied, and disappeared into the wilderness, beginning a guerrilla war that saw Cheydinhal and Bruma sacked, many ancient garrisons fall to the Ashlanders, and most villages and towns in the wilderness wiped out.
