The jetpack is a piece of garbage!

The jetpack boosts for 2 seconds then dies. It is more of a power boost than a jetpack. What is the best way to get insanely more action points?

Is your endurance leveled up? There are various perks that let you increase your AP.

Calling it a jet pack is something of a misnomer in the first place though. It's more like heavily boosted jumping.

It is a jetpack, that can pick up a few hundred-pound heavy war machine. It's a miracle it can even lift off the ground. You can't extend the length of the jetpack without mods, or cheating.

Nexus have a Jetpack Mod but its a bit to much of speed. i modified it by myself so the jetpack can up to maybe 80 meters. This 2 Meter Jump is a pain xD

I was wondering how the jet pack performed, as I haven't got that far yet. Doesn't sound like I have very much to look forward too.

I was disappointed to, but it beats having unlimited use. It would be better if it drained fusion cores faster rather than use action points

tgm only gives 5 seconds of vertical lift, then it is just a slow descent to the ground. tgm gives infinite AP so the Jetpack is not designed for flight, but for higher jumps.

...Anything that consumes Action Points also increases the rate at which your Fusion Cores drain.

Anyway, I came across a thread a while back in the Spoiler forum where the OP was increasing their AP, but not getting any extra flight time. No testing was done, but if what that person said was true, then the jetpack consumes a percentage of your Action Points per second, not a flat number. If that is the case, then boosting your AP won't make any difference.

I think your misunderstanding it's use. ITs not to fly around forever. More of like a big jump to get up a story or two in order to bash some more skulls in. The way some people here want it would break the game for me.

Why would I want to jump 5 stories if there is no perpuse but to look cool. It's fun, it's risky, and as a mellee character it helps you to destroy anyone of things. So basically if say it's prime use is for a mellee build. The giant consumption to it makes it special.

I've played the last 20-30 hours wearing a jet pack equipped suit of power armor. I got very used to having it available. Today for some reason I do not recall, I decided to park my power armor and do a few things without it. I promptly very much missed not having that jet pack. Yes, it is not an actual 'flight' system, it is much more of a jump boost system, but it is still 'extremely' useful.

It is a backpack, and it is a jet thruster. It's a jetpack. That it does not have continuous thrust does not have bearing on those two aspects of its label.

Okay, people are nitpicking my wording, so let me clarify. I mean that it's not a jetpack in the sense that you're not going to be flying around like the Rocketeer or anything like that. You aren't going to be able to use it to fly to the tops of skyscraqers or to go soaring across the map.

It may not be a Buck Rogers type jetpack, but it is not far from the bell labs jet pack. :)

I would only use it if you also have explosive venting leg mods for your power armor, then it is hilarious but otherwise a waste of a perfectly good chest mod

I don't want to fly around forever.. No need for levitation cheese from Morrowind. I would like however for the stupid thing to work for longer than 2 seconds... Maybe they could make it last as long as you want but it drains fusion cores very fast... That's an option.

If you take a hit of jet, you can fly for longer.

I tried it and it didn't do anything for me, its useful to allow you to make higher jumps over obstacles but it is not for me the greatest thing ever! (as some have described it to me)......My hot rod red X-01 Jetpack Power Armor is largely going to spend its time on display in my garage.

Personally, I tried it and didn't find it to be all that useful. It's cool to play around with, and it can make a few parts of the game a bit easier, but on the whole I think other power armor mods are much more beneficial.

for me the Jet-pack is more like a item to play around (got it trow BoS no perk) so really i just use it to jump around or do stupid jump from high places =P

There are a lot of things you can do to boost AP to extend jet pack air time.

-get you agility higher
-use drugs; Jet Fuel, Ultra Jet, etc
-power armor upgrades that reduce AP useage
-moving target perk(3rd tier)
-action boy perk (recover AP faster)

Not sure how much endurance plays a part, but it is something that could be looked into as well.
