Hi guys! This is the journal of my Dunmer char Nami. Hope you guys like it! It is better if you read his short http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1499974-the-backstory-of-nami-saidu-the-beginning/ before this, to get a better grasp on why he is even in Skyrim in the first place.

The Journal of Nami Saidu: P1

The ship from Solstheim has just dropped me off at a nordic city (Windhelm I presume). The Raven Rock guards that were assigned to “protect” me gave me nothing except 20 gold, a block of moldy cheese, and the tunic on my back. I suppose I’m off to find a means of defense.

I went to the local blacksmith, an older nordic man (maybe 80? I really have no grasp on how these petty humans age). He and his assistant sold me an iron dagger and a pair of gauntlets made of fur. The dagger is crude, yet it is still sharp. Hopefully I won’t have to use it.

Daedra, I am starving. I wish that I still had my talents. I would be eating like Bolvyn Venim. At least I managed to save 1 septim, but only after a netch load of haggling. I have already eaten the moldy cheese which held me over a bit, and I am on my way to the market stalls to see if anyone is still selling any food. I will have to venture out tomorrow and see if I can hunt some game.

Gods, what is wrong with me? I am a monster.

I managed to get ahold of one of the stall keepers as they were packing up for the night. He was the last one in the market square excluding myself. I purchased some grilled leeks for the morning, and after I payed him, I asked if he knew where the best place to hunt was. He looked me up and down and just laughed.

“You filthy elves can’t hold yourself in a fight with a damned rabbit. What makes you think you can take down a deer? If the rest of us true nords are lucky, you and your kind will starve to death.” Gods, these nords are so ignorant of what we elves can really do. I remained silent though, so that I could at least find where to hunt some game.

“If you really want to venture out into the wilderness, take the road leading south to Kynesgrove and then climb to the top of the hill. There might be some rabbits or foxes…. or wolves.” He grinned. I now understood why he was even helping me. He assumed I was too weak to even go up against some wolves. These racists think we are truly weak.

Fury built up inside of me as I stared at his stupid, smug grin. I was better than he ever would be, didn’t he realize this? I would live to watch his vile offspring grow and die. I had the power of the daedra inside of me. Suddenly I lashed out with the sweaty iron dagger in my hand. It caught him in the stomach and he collapsed in a bloody mess.

I couldn't control it. It all just happened so fast. I had to think quick, or the patrolling guards would find me next to his corpse. I searched his pockets and came up with a key to his stall, some coin, and a package of taffy. I moved over to his market space and took all of the food I could carry, when I could see the shadows moving as a guard approached.

Nocturnal may have taken my skills, but I still had my magic. I cast a spell that made my footsteps lighter and quieter. Hopefully no one heard it.

The guard approached, unaware of what he was about to find. I slowly creeped against the outer wall of the city as quietly as I could. As soon as I passed him I ran to the gate. As I neared the entrance guards, I heard the patrolman behind me scream for help. The two city guards ran from their post towards the cry, passing by me as if I wasn’t even there. I must admit, these ragged clothes make for good camouflage.

I exited the city and ran up the road towards the wilderness. I didn’t even know where I was going, I just went. I ran and ran, getting further and further away from the main road as I could. I soon found a small cave and I ventured in.

It is a dark, dank cave. There were a few skeevers, but I soon disposed of them with my dagger. I found their nest and used it to start a fire. I used magic to get it going, and the cave started to heat up a little bit.

This is where I am now, writing to you, journal. I feel miserable. I killed that man. Yes, I’ve killed before, but that was my master’s bidding, and they usually deserved their death, too. Oh well, at least I didn’t get caught, and I still have some ability to sneak. On the morrow I will venture out and maybe find the person that Nocturnal told me I had to meet. Hopefully they aren’t of the descent of man. Gods, what racist slobs they are.

I write now hastily from the foliage around the main road. Up ahead there is a battle going on between men in blue and white cuirass (Storm Cloaks I think? I seemed to hear a lot about them while I was in Windhelm, as it seems to be their headquarters), and men in the uniforms of the Imperial army. It sure is a bloody battle that many have already fallen from.

I was awoken earlier this morning to the sound of steel on steel. I rushed out and found the bloody sight in front of me. I have travelled a few miles from Windhelm, but I was still fairly close. I found it rather peculiar that the Imperials would attack this close to the opposing force’s capital.

Anyhow, I hope that they don’t spot me, for they may think that I am one of the nordic forces. I have no doubt that the Imperials will win the battle, for they have a much greater amount of soldiers. I am severely thinking about turning back and returning to my cave, but I need supplies. Those dead bodies will surely be looted by the victors. If only there was some way to sneak by the fight and loot the out lying bodies.

I think I may have been spotted. I was being careless in my hiding as I was writing and the leader of the Imperials is heading my way. No, he has definitely spotted me. There is no way I can run nor fight. Hopefully I can explain that I am not a rebel to this general. If not, I shall surely face the same fate as the prisoners they have taken.
