I was pretty shocked at the ending. As a player, I could tell something was up with Almalexia, but as a character, since stepping off the boat at Seyda Neen so long ago, was a devout follower of the Tribunal Temple. This was so even after being told the truth by Vivec.
When I walked into Sotha Sil's chambers, I saw him before me an immediately summoned my trusted bound sword, walked forward and was just about ready to call out the living god. I can honestly say I was horrified by what I found....Sotha Sil...just hanging there. I examined him for what seemed like an hour before deciding I needed to find my way back to Mournhold, only to be stopped by Almalexia's true intentions.
We fought. Almalexia is now dead, as well. My first thought was getting back to Vivec to break the news to him. Gah! Why won't this Mazed Band get me to Vivec? Oh! Azura to let me know the day is won...though it didn't make me feel any better. Two of my gods are dead!
I finally make it to Vivec. He did not seem surprised...like he expected all of this to happen, though he was saddened. He told me how now even he would eventually succumb to death. It would not be by my hand. I bid Vivec farewell, left behind my Neravarine artifacts, and placed Hopesfire and Trueflame by Vivec's feet.
As I exited Vivec's palace, I gazed upon the Ministry of Truth. I've been told I saved the day...that Morrowind was saved. Yet somehow I knew that one day that giant rock would complete its journey, destroy Vivec City and have everlasting consequences for all of Morrowind. A bittersweet victory if there ever was one. At least it was a warm, cloudless morning.
Fade to black...
