INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************
Manual Installation:

This mod is packaged/archived with 7zip. Should one desire to use
this mod, an archive programme such as 7zip, Winrar, Winace, or
Zip Genious should be used to extract/open the information/files herein.
(Although, if you are reading this, then you already know how to do
extract from archived files, so good for you :) ).

Once extracted/opened, just drag and drop these onto the Morrowind
folder in your C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Data Files directory and
they will go where they are meant to go (except the readme and Extras
Folder). All the files are placed inside folders as marked (become familiar
with manual installations, your game will thank you for it). You will then
be prompted to overwrite. Click yes/ok and the files should now be
properly installed.

Files included in the Data Files folder of this mod:

Icons FOlder
Textures Folder
Meshes Folder
Westly Presents The V'Kai.esp
Westly Presents The V'Kai README (which you are reading right now ;) )

*****************************************************************

PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to
Westly Presents The V'Kai.esp to activate the mod :D.

This plugin adds:

A new BB race based on a marathon of creature movies I was
watching while I was making them (inspired and created for
fun with no purpose further than my own enjoyment of the
creation of them). Guess which movies and I will
give you a cookie or a doughnut (whichever I do not eat
first) :).

Hailing from the realms of ancient night, the V'kai are a demonic race
bent on domination through the corruption of the denizens of the
mortal realms. With darkness based abilities, the V'kai use the
subtleties of stealth and illusion to invade and conquer unsuspecting
foes. Be it air, water, or earth, no realm is out of reach from these
servants of shadows.

as well as weapons and a pair of "static" wearable wings.
The container with these items can be found somwhere in Addamasartus,
which is near Seyda Neen (the container is a Giger-esque Egg rooted to
the ground).

*****************************************************************

Save Games

*****************************************************************

This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save
your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages
when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will be
able to continue on with the original game.

*****************************************************************

Changing the Face/Race of an Existing Character

*****************************************************************

To change the face/race of your existing character without starting
a new game, open the console and type "enableracemenu". Choose your
new face and hair. Then, once you have changed your race, save your
game and exit. Then restart/relaunch your game and resume from that
save.

Changing your race will cause temporary problems that should resolve
themselves when you reload. Always save your game first in case of
unpredictable errors and save afterwards in a new file.

This is my new favorite for evil appearing races. Great work Westly. Now I can be a truly fearsome Telvanni Battlemage with my next character.

I know there are no permissions yet, but if/when you've made your decision could I use them in my Daedric Realms mod?

Just wondering, i see you used some Zone meshes by Tarasaurus. Did you contact him to use them? Just thinking those unique buildings might be useful if I can use them.

Looks like you were watching "Alien" and "Species". Do I get that cookie now?

Good job seriously. Nice work filling the forum up with REL threads. Are you trying to make it crash? lol

I ate the cookie (I got hungry while waiting), but you can have a http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/02/PeachMP8a.png (high in fiber,
with a good balance of carbs, sugar, and protein for sustainable energy).

Indeed, I watched Species and Aliens, but also a host of "knock-off" creature
features as well (Alone in the Dark[horrible movie, but I love the creature
effects], The Cave). Also Jeeper's Creepers (though some deem it a
horrible movie, it does indeed creep me out), The Descent, and The Care Bears Movie (OMG).

Let me see if I can convert them to creatures for you first (as that would be more beneficial
for your mod than the race as it is :D ). As far as the Zone meshes, Redwoodtreesprite
relayed long ago that the meshes were OK to use, so I have been sticking by that since :).

I was hoping it would be that sort of peach. :)

Cool! I was thinking about having a script to not activate the corpses, so the player can't take the armour, but this way would be better, and I can then have the armour as items you have to find so it's a treasure hunt, not an all you can eat feast.

Big thanks!

The creature versions, if I can work them out best, will not be wearing the armour (so if you wanted armoured versions, then they would have to be the race, for now). For the creatures, I was going to have them as the winged version with only their exoskeleton showing.

Funny observations, out of all the mods I have uploaded, these have the most downloads (by 2 over the Kheran ATM, but before it was a larger margin). Save for the Corean Hair mod (which I knew was the more desired and universally versitile for all users), this mod is in the lead. Is it because they are dark and evil looking? It would be a good experiment (for any aspiring psych majors) to see what type of mods mod users are the most likely to download first (dark and arcane, or angelic and heroic).

Take Care, All

IMO, a well-done evil-looking race is hard to find, and/or perhaps people want something other than a dremora. Also, that armor is just wicked cool-looking, and even if I wasn't interested in playing the race, I would have downloaded the mod just for the armor.

Many thanks for sharing your talents with us! I always look forward to seeing a release from you.

Thank you! Thank you! This race is beyond awesome, and I love evil races. I imagine them as being masters of arcane magics specializing in illusion and conjuration in addition to being fearsome warriors. Love the armor as well.

Wow, I will be playing with this all weekend. Lookout for the screenshots thread!

I checked it out, and it's fantastic. The armor is outstanding. Everything looks great!

I'd suggest this mod to anyone and everyone. Especially if you're familiar with the Biomechanoid, this is an excellent crossover in using equipment from both, to both. They both carry that dark flavor that is so rare. Fun to play.

Wow. It's a 10 for me.

Any chance I can convince you to make the armoured versions too? No rush since my Daedric Realms mod isn't a fast project (99% is still in my brain at the moment :P). Need a landscape before I can make use of them :D

Be 6 creatures in the end. Male & Female with no armour, the two with the light looking armour, and the two with the heavy armour.
