the Katariah

so the Emperors ship, the Katariah...

would it be possible to use this location as a "base of Operations" after the related quest has been completed?

I mean, is there any beds you can sleep in, safe storage, do the mobs respawn, etc...

Everytime I do that quest I think "Beautiful ship... to bad I can't claim it for my own...."..

I mean, its not only a beautiful ship, but it has everything you would need...

According to the UESP it's safe: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Places-Safe

I love how during that quest Motierres like "You better hurry! The Emperor wont be here for very long!" And even after you do the dirty, the ship just stays there forever.

okay, so storage is safe according to the wiki...

How many of the beds are Sleep-able? I thought some were set to owned... and now that I think about it, you may get a "cant rest while trespassing" notice...

an do the mobs respawn?

I'd check myself, but my gaming PC is doing a full viral scan... I won't be gaming anytime soon....

Enemies do respawn, so it's not safe.

Unless... when you killed them all the first time, put a "Letter from a Friend" in each of their bodies so the bodies won't despawn. This way, I THINK... The dead won't be able to respawn. Also you get the Emperor as a decoration. :D

I think the incriminating letters from Dawnguard also works.
