The King's Verdict on Auto Armor

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 6:57 am

Clearly many of you are confused about game balance and what is "noob." By many of you I am referring to some of the gamesas.com posters, the pseudo-elite Crysis community, as well as the real elites, and CryTek Design Development Department.

Whoever designed an achievement for turning AutoA off should have designed one for putting Typhoons and Jackals down, for playing a whole week without Maneuverability, and ones for killing yourself if you play with Retriever 3, Ordinance, or Surveillance (I play with these too, BTW) which are far more game breaking, and game altering than any one person running with AutoA on.

So I'm in FraggedNation Crysis 3 ladders, and it was voted that since AutoA is "noob" and since you have the option of turning off it must mean that it's an unfair advantage to have in a competitive setting. What about Proxy Alarms? What About that Broken Surveillance? What about that ridiculously game altering EMP grenade? How about the MOST OP PERK in a FPS EVER--Ordinance LvL 2?

Someone just posted that hitmarks should be turned off to make the game more realistic, and this was my reply:

"Are you fawking kid me (just threw everything upside down)?! I cant take gamesas complaints anymore. So let me get this straight...now we complain about hit markers appearing on screen instead of when you snipe a still person and get no hit markers or HIT DETECTION!!! People complain that auto-armor is Noob?!? Really? What about the indicator that lets you know that you have been tagged? That doesn't happen in any other game, that has tagging. Talk about unrealistic! And then here are the two most game breaking perks from a purely competitive standpoint: 1) Surveillance (way too many benefits--Allows the easiest tagging of all enemies while only needing to ADS, and avoid being tagged as well, but then here is the kicker two players equipped with it wont receive the proper hit detection, without a significant death causing delay) 2) Ordinance Priority: 1) Lets you see enemy explosive (no big deal). Level 3 Ordinance lets you see enemy bullet trails (again not that game breaking). But here is the real problem... Ordinance 2 gives you an onscreen HUD prompt and a sound alarm indicating that someone is merely Aiming Down Sight On You. Once you have this equipped you'll rarely ever die again. How realistic is it to be artificially made aware that a sniper scope pointed at the back of your head is ADSing on you?!?!?!? People get your sh1t together. Im going bonkers having to read nonsense post about Shotguns needing buffs, and hit-markers needing to be turned off to make the game "more realistic". If this were Sparta, I would be Leonitus and kick the Crytek Devs into the pit, for the mindbogglingly asinine perks and guns they have chosen to implement into this game."

Basically I'm tried of nonsense complaints like buffing shotguns, bows, or reducing AutoA as it has far less impact than any of the aforementioned issues of balance that I have addressed.

Also dont forget about 4 jaw rockets with Expanded Arsenal 3, but people want to cry because a sniper / bow will take two body shots? Really. I made a career out of 2 body shots with a sniping playstyle in Crysis 2. Why would anyone want a game dumbed down to One Shot Kill (OSK) weapons anyway, especially on maps this big and clusterfawky, and cloak that is nearly invisible. People get it together. Stop complaining about AutoA when there are far more flagrant perks to be worried about.
