The Legend of Zelda

Post » Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:03 pm

I'm looking forward to Skyward Sword. I've been a Legend of Zelda fan since the very first game. My favorite part of each game has always been the dungeons. I also like being able to at least partially choose the oder in which I do them. Twilight Princess was sorely lacking in this area. Hopefully Skyward Sword will bring that back. My favorite LoZ game to date is A Link to the Past, with Ocarina of Time a very close second. My favorite item so far is the Hookshot (or Clawshot, as it's called in TP). Anybody else got any favorite items?

I've liked the Longshot, Bunny Hood, elemental arrows, Stone Mask, Double Clawshot, Zora Armor, the transformation masks, and the Lens of Truth.

A triforce tattoo would be epic.

I know thats why I want it. >D
http://www.zeldainformer.com/images/articles/triforce20.jpg I think it's from Super Smash Bros. Melee, if I'm not mistaken.

That is helpful, but I want to make sure it's the same as in OoT, because to me, thats the ultimate Zelda title (besides LttP).

Can anyone confirm which way the triforce on Link's gauntlet in OoT was pointing? Toward his fingers, or his elbow?

It's the one pointing at his elbow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpGXTPOppQI&feature=related a vid that shows it. The quality isn't the best, but it's good enough.

Think of the triforce as an arrow pointing at something.

I say this because after watching the video, It's clear that it's pointing (if it were an arrow) Towards his fingers.

It's settled. I'll Upload a picture later if I have the money to do it today.

But thanks for the vid!

What would you guys consider the scariest part of any Zelda game?

My personal scariest dungeon would be The Bottom of The Well.

Oh, easy one; the bit of the Shadow Temple wherein you go through some old catacomb-like thingamajiggy, with skulls with glowing eyes on the walls, telling tales of how there's an evil side to the history of Hyry...Huru...dratz, I can't spell it!

That scared the crap out of me when I was playing it originally, probably the reason why I never finished it until I got it on the gamecube.

I remember I just used to get the Lens and Prelude of Light myself out of there before I got the courage to explore the place properly.. Redeads and Gibdos still rank pretty high on my list of scariest videogame enemies.

The Shadow Temple scared me the most. I reached it when I was a kid and had to put the game down for a few years because I was so scared of that place. :P

EDIT:

Thanks for that link rmctagg09. I had forgotten about that site but now i'm going to download all those songs. I like the Title Redux of Wind Waker. The original version is probably my favorite piece of music from any Zelda game. :)

So, what are other must-have Zelda games? I already have Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and I'll be getting Twilight Princess and Wind Waker for my birthday(which is in august). I wanna get Wind Waker brand new but the lowest price on amazon(for new) is 65$...

Well that's all the 3d ones, so if I were you Link to the Past would be next on the list. A lot of people say it's the best 2d Zelda out there, and I agree that it's great. Personally, I prefer Minish Cap myself.

For me, 2d Zelda games go...

1: Minish Cap
2: Link to the Past
3: Oracle of Ages/Seasons (I know they're different games, but I can't pick between them)
4: Link's Awakening
5: Zelda 1

EDIT: And if you're willing to go for used games, gamestop has a buy 2 get 1 free deal going on today and tomorrow.

I can't believe how anticipated the new one is. I haven't liked one since the very first one on NES and I've tried just about every one. But then again I don't often play games rated below M much less T.

It's really a great game. Alot of Zelda fans give it flak, but I think they do just because it's the newest game in the series(not counting game boy games).
Twilight Princess is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite Zelda game, behind Ocarina of Time, of course.

It is a lot of fun. Not my favorite, but quite a fun game regardless. At first I wasn't too fond of it, but it grew on me by the end of the game.

I found my Majora's Mask cartridge!!!! :D I can finally play this game again. After a little bit more of Mass Effect 2 i'm going to hook up my N64 and give it another go. I'm so happy. :hehe:

Spoiler
Go to the graveyard in Kakariko village. The grave with the flowers on the left (I believe it's this one). Pull the backside and drop down the hole. Small minigame to get the hookshot.

I bought Wind Waker a long time ago and didn't like it at all. I decided to replay it a few months ago and I loved i, I decided to buy the 2 DS games and Twilight Princess for the Wii, and I thought those were great as well. I've been thinking about buying OoT and MM on the Virtual Console for the Wii, would they really be fun for somebody who hasn't played them before? I don't know if they'll really be up to par since I've played all the newer ones before them, I know some people must like them a lot because it brings back fond childhood memories.
