Wind waker was pretty amazing. Too bad that a lot of it's content got cut due to time restraints and instead that fishing up the triforce pieces crap was shoe horned it.
Just curious, do you have any links to information about this (cut content), makes sense considering how contrived that bit was although I hadn't heard this before, but now I'm just wondering what could have been.

The only changes I know was that the first and second dungeons were swapped around and that link's clothes were slightly different (he looked more like link from the first Legend of Zelda)

I just got to the Great Bay Temple.

*head explodes*.

I have a few questions,

1. How hard is it to get the stray fairies?
2. Should I get all the fairies on my first time through?

Thanks.

I've done it in one go, but let me warn you, it can be quite a [censored], as is the whole damn temple, but not impossible.

EDIT: Remember what I told you about the Great Bay Temple.

I will. On a scale from one to ten(ten being hard), how hard is the temple?

Woo, finally got to the Great Bay. Now I have to go to all the trouble of getting the eggs. Really should think about getting the stone mask first but... i'm already in the Great Bay area. :P

Also, I need to go through the Anju/Kafei quest again so I can get the bottle. So many things to do.

How! in Gods [censored] name do I beat gyorg?! I've tried countless times but I always die! here's what I do:

I stay on the platform and throw my (Zora)boomerang at him, then when he gets hit I go down in the water and boomerang him again, then swim to the top before he can eat me. but I always end up getting knocked off and eaten or eaten while trying to swim back up after boomeranging him.

What I remember doing was being human and shooting him with an arrow. As soon as it hit and stunned him i'd put on the Zora mask and jump in and use the 'R-button' Barrier to hit him while swimming, then i'd turn around and do a dolphin jump out of the water on to the platform. Climbing up on the ledge always gets you hit.

The Legend of Zelda OOT and MM represent alot to me even though I never played them. When i was a young-un my father played both while my new extended family watched. It represents a great bonding time between me and my dad as well as being a phenomenal example of a game.

Maybe it's my inner cynic talking but I have a good feeling the reason Skyward Sword is so colorful is to make up for the Wii's lack of being able to have graphics on par with other consoles. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved Wind Waker and it's style, but SS's style seems tacked on, as if they realized they couldn't make a new Zelda game with graphics that would "wow" people like Twilight Princess did way back when.

Anyway, on topic, I've played Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, and if I had a Wii I'd definitely get Skyward Sword, despite it's... interesting graphics.

Nah, I really don't think that's it, and I really don't think they just settled on a "less" detailed style. It is supposed be sort of an impressionism art style which I really think looks good for this game. I recall them saying (can't find the interview) that if they were to do the game with the same graphic style as Twilight Princess the game would have been already done. So it seems that they've worked really hard on the graphics alone. You'll notice it looks much better in the screenshots rather than the gameplay videos also.

Sigh, why does this game hate me so much? so here I am, with 14 stray fairies with 3 minutes left, rushing through the temple like a mad man, and of course, I didn't get it. so NOW I'm going to have to do EVERYTHING over just to get the damn fairies.... sigh.

Well, on the bright side I got lucky and took down Gyorg, one temple left :D

I never even got the fairies. Never liked collecting things like that much, and I'm pretty sure all you get is a sword. Getting all the masks was much more interesting to me (and my 13 year old mind :P).

Hehe, certain temples gave pretty good rewards for getting all the fairies. Double Magic Bar for the Snow Head temple and only taking half damage from enemies thanks to the Great Bay temple. :P

But I didn't like collecting them when I was 13 either.

I've never been a huge fan of the Zelda series. Maybe it's because of my Final Fantasy upbringing. Now I'm not saying they're bad games, I almost finished ocarina of time and most of twilight princess and I did enjoy the game. I'm just not a huge fan of the puzzle system. And I know that's one of the most alluring thing about the game to many of you. I feel like it takes away.
