The Legion should of had a presence in OWB.

Post » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:25 pm

I think some non-lobotimite Legion units should have been encountered in this DLC as either friends or foes depending on dialogue choices. In my case, I could have proposed a truce and ran with a Frumentarii against the Evil of the Big MT. What do you guys think? Do not just flame the CL for there political views/social views. It is more of the enemy of my enemy kind of situation or not. I just think they should be part of these DLCs.

Well it is too difficult for me to explain (because I just woke up) but I'll leave you with a question. Did the Legion also examine the satellite and retain their brain functions due to a mix up in the procedure? If the Legion (or any other faction) was in OWB, then they would need to be Lobotomites.

We were told the Courier is unique. Did Ulysses and Christine lose their brains? And then get them back? In any case, it is certainly possible the legion could make it to the Big Empty.

Yes, but what are the chances the Legion even knows about the Big Empty.

Refering to Intact Garden Gnome's statement. Even if by some miracle Legion, (or NCR, or any faction), made it to Big MT still in possesion of their brains, they'd quickly be wiped out by the creatures roaming around there. A group of 3 - 4 skeletons in trauma harnesses with the weapons they carry, could take out an elite squad of either NCR or Legion. Of course you'd still have to figure out a way for them to get there. The satellite transports them there, one at a time? Where they are quickly processed and turned into useful slaves, (LOL how ironic).

Aside from shedding some light on House's Pre-War work, I think the DLC's should remain as faction neutral as possible.

But Big MT is in the west. In order for the Legion to get there in any force, they would have to defeat the NCR at Hoover Dam, (thus ending the game.) After the Hoover Dam victory it would take the Legion at least a few years to recover, gain complete control over the Mojave, and get a large enough force together to invade Big Mt.

They wouldn't have to invade in force. I'm only suggesting that a small Legion party could make it.

The point is, Elijah, Ulysses, and Christine all made it in, and out. So, it is conceivable that someone from the Legion could, too.

Big MT factionwise would definately remain neutral. I just think that it would be interesting to see some presence of the legion in Big MT. Also is it not the job of the Frumentarii to gather intelligence, assess threats, and cause terror. They only let the smartest men be Frumentarii, and if a smart old man like Elijah can get in and out with his brain intact does not necessarily mean he is the only one. I think there is a story there.

No, but Honest Hearts should have had a frumentarii that we could side with to assassinate Graham without resorting to the failsafe ending.

That also would have been an interesting story arc. I just want to see the Legion used more. Don't get me wrong I do not like their ideology, but I do like them as a plot device.

That would mean letting a Legionaire know Caesar is lying about the Burned Man, even Vulpes and Graham seem to believe graham gone. Caesar having an inside legion member knowing the truth is Caesar admitting he's a hypocrite, and Caesar is to vain to admit he's a hypocrite.

Graham states that he has killed several frumentarii sent by Caesar and was expecting the Courier to be a different Courier, a frumentarii which travels disguised as a courier.
So he has already let a couple of frumentarii in on the secret.

As far as Elijah, Christine, and Ulysses entering the Big MT...Elijah was a technological genius. He created the Holorifle, for one. He was also obsessed with technology...look at Operation: Sunburst for an example. He could have probably hacked his way in.

Christine? Yeah, she could get in okay. From the looks of things, she seems to be a tracker - the G.E.C.K. files say the Assassin Suit in Dead Money was hers, and she diiiid have that sniper rifle. She also was probably well versed in Elijah's movements.

Ulysses is still a bit of a mystery. He might be Legion. He might be N.C.R.. He might have his own agenda. There are hints he might have been a Frumentarii...if this is true, there's your Legion.

That's why once the job is done, you strangle him in his sleep. Sacrifices must be made for the Legion, even if those sacrifices are just so Caesar doesn't look like an ass. :spotted owl:

Edit: Also, I would totally lend you some money through Paypal if I had money and If I had Paypal. :teehee:

[edit - Oops, forgot that might be spoilery for some.]

Spoiler

"Caesar would never admit this openly, but he knows that I'm alive. I've killed enough of his frumentarii and assassins that have come looking
I've heard that one of them travels the Mojave as a courier. Most of Caesar's agents meet a fitting end in NCR territory, but maybe this one survived

Sound really nice. Wish Obsidian had thought of it too.

Legion in Big MT... I don't know it feels forced. Why would Caesar send someone there anyway? Legion doesn't use advanced science. They go as far as shunning it.
