The Legion's views on mutants?

Post » Sat Sep 19, 2009 3:47 pm

Men > Mongrels > Women, Ghouls, Mutants, every other species known to man.

Don't ask me why people defend these guys as being the 'better' choice for humanity.

Yup, nope, yep. Despotism. oh and it is free of corruption and the military that controls the nation is fanatical, always a plus.

Stability and order in the wasteland.

90% of the problems in the Mojave Wasteland are being caused by the Legion...either directly or through proxies. And if you think things are bad now...just wait until Caesar kicks the bucket and the only thing holding the Legion together is fear of Lanius. It won't be long before Lanius scares someone into taking him out. Once Caesar and Lanius are both gone Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado will be even worse than they were before Caesar within a couple years as every bandit within a thousand miles heads there to feast off the CL's dying carcass.

Because the Mojave totally represents the areas the Legion is in control of. In warzones, they are ruthless, in their own territory, it is stable and safe, safer than the NCR.

Caesars death will be bad though.

Imma jump off the Legion-hate train for a moment here.

3rd in command is Lucius, and he is the only high ranking Legionnaire with no bad karma. Chances are he will be fairer then most.

If everyone would sell people they didn't like as slaves to others, the world would be a better place.

Next thing we know Sunny sells Doc Mitchell because he wasn't able to save her dog!
Deputy Beagle will sell Ruby for not giving him any of her casserole!
Pacer sells Julie Farkas because he doesn't like her hairstyle.

This, is the kind of wasteland that Caesar's Legion is creating, by simply accepting slaves from anyone who's willing to sell them.

To bad Sunny, Ruby, and Julie would probably already be slaves because their women or in Ruby's case killed off cause she might be too old. As to the Legion's territory safe for their people... I'll believe it when I see it. I'm not gonna base it off of a Merchant and Raul who could just be talking about the roads for merchants.

I know, I was just stating that if the Legion did take over that's what would happen with them. They wouldn't all be safe because they sold someone else into slavery. As to the Legion land comment that was directed to Mako Vlazkov

What topic you got your answer? They would either kill them if they were in the way or leave them alone. That's about all we know unless you want a dev to come in here and tell you which I doubt will happen.

Discussing legion policy regarding mutants and humans is fine as far as I'm concerned, as it would prove difficult to only discuss one aspect and not branch off to the other with comparitive data.

well, I suppose the only way of finding out how the Legion thinks of mutants is bringing Lily to Fortification Hill and listen to the comments they make

There is comparative data in this discussion?

This part?
"So, as long as ghouls and super mutants don't attack the Legion or does something against Legions code they will live and let live with them.
Just as if humans don't attack Legion or does something against Legions code then they will also live and let live with them."
With Carla it's apparently rubbish.

Therefor mutants and humans are treated differently by Legion but we have far too little information about the mutant treatment to make any actual comparisons.
Which is why I see that it has derailed into a discussion about specifically human treatment which this thread is not about.

[edit]
Gre-nades and HAM!, good idea, are there any for Raul? I think I heard the generic "I thought I never would see a ghoul up close, wish I never had to.." from legionnaires but I've heard it from Boomers and I think Freesiders and NCsoldieRs too so I dunno how trustworthy that line is.. (seems just haphazardly thrown in there.)

I dont see why the ncr soldiers would say that theres NCR randers and VETs that are ghouls so it makes no sense to make comments like that.

IIRC they stuffed all ghoul rangers near Cottonwood cove to keep them away.
Could mean two other things:
1. They don't care as much for ghouls and consider them acceptable losses if Legion ever were to try to take it.
2. Or they consider them to be more experienced and put them there for the exact reason that if Legion were to try and take it they could fight them back.

But the NCR bit I'm unsure of hence the "I think Freesiders and NCsoldieRs".

Well they shouldnt treat them like [censored]. They deserve as much respect as a human does. They are far more expeiranced than any soldier in the NCR army.

Well of course, I believe so too, I think it's wrong that anyone is bigot against ghouls.
Ghouls are basically small libraries with legs, and can be used for radioactive areas.
Only reason I could find is that they do look pretty nasty, but once you get past the looks and the smell I don't see why anyone would hate them.
So if NCR is a bit discriminating only more subtle with it then it's still wrong IMO too.
