The Legion's views on mutants?

Post » Sat Sep 19, 2009 8:46 pm

Is it actually said what the Legion plans to do with Ghouls and Super Mutants? I know the NCR is tolerant enough of Ghouls to allow them to become Rangers, and there was a Super Mutant Ranger that was cut from the game, but what are the Legion's views on them? I could imagine them making use of Super Mutants at least, if only for their brute strength.

The Legion barely acknowledges that women are better than dogs. With their demonstrated disregard for the rights and wellbeing of fellow non-mutated human beings, I can't imagine they would treat ghouls and mutants any better. I think you answered your own question with "make use of". The only place that ghouls and mutants have in the Legion, as far as I can imagine, is as beasts of burden.

I think they just see them as hiddeous abominations . This subject has been carefully avoided in the game

Taken from the wikia, I guess this is a part from Van Buren that is considered canon or something:

"The Legion openly discriminates against super mutants and ghouls, considering them beasts. However, they will not go out of their way to attack or destroy them, if they do not provoke an attack."

So, as long as ghouls and super mutants don't attack the Legion or does something against Legions code they will live and let live with them.
Just as if humans don't attack Legion or does something against Legions code then they will also live and let live with them.

I would think they hold the mutants in high regard, considering they are some of the roughest, toughest, bastards in the wasteland.

Carla
Nipton
...

Mr.House- He is one of the main enemies that will have to be eliminated for the legion to continue, even though he doesn't exactly go agaisnt legion code
Carla- I don't know who she is, but im going to say that she probably did something against the legion
Nipton- Made deals with the legion to sell out others, and that disloyalty it also what led to their extermination.

As far as i can see the legion's let live is true unless you defy the legion

She's an innocent person, wrong place wrong time, that's all. A certain person sold her to the Legion and they enslaved her.

Legion is trying to conquer the west coast and are now at the Mojave, if House would allow for Legion to take Vegas then I'm sure they wouldn't do him much harm.
But as it stands he would never approve of it and Legion knows it, not only that but NCR is bleeding the NCR dry and while it might be a good thing for Legion it is still extremely greedy, like a leech.
I find it understandable that Legion wants him gone.

Carla, as I understand it carla was enslaved by somebody else and sold to Legion, but it wasn't Legion that killed her, Legion were only doing business.

Nipton, do we really need to go through this again? There was a big discussion on this thing and it was perfectly explained why Legion killed them.
Not going to start it up again.

What I meant is that Legion did not come across Carla in the wastes, they did not come across Carla in a town they were integrating, they did not find Carla in a tribal village, she was sold to Legion by somebody else.

So everyone is just going to sell everyone to the Legion, and the world will be a better place? Nay.

The fact that the Legion accepted Carla as a slave is sickening. She isn't any kind of threat to the Legion.

Honesty you'd think the Legion were paragons of virtue. Blaming someone else for that despicible thing they did to Boone and Carla is like someone doing something wrong and pointing the finger at someone else "it was his idea". If the Legion were just doing business (committing a crime) so was Nipton.

Nope, different, but this discussion belongs in the other Legion thread, this one is about mutants and Legion. (And it wasn't Legion who took Carla, it was somebody else, therefor Legion is not to blame for Carla or for Boone going loopy.)

I do hope we get to see mutants in a Legion DLC and see the treatment of them there.

It was the Legion who took Carla, they broke into her room and took her, she may have been sold beforehand, but they broke in a took here, evidence is the machete in Boone's hotel room, but the look of it, she injured of them.

I am pretty sure Legion view Super Mutant as respectable beast in kin due to their "metahuman" physique, and Ghouls as inferior beings because of rotten flesh; not to bad if you ask me.

If you want to get the idea of what they think of Ghouls, take Raul on a trip around the fort. They'll make the occasional comment about him.

So if your next door neighbor sold you to me for $1000 and I kidnap you from your home and put you on the white slave trade's version of ebay that would be OK? By your logic instead of bashing my skull in with a ball bat like I'd deserve your husband should open the trunk for me so I can load you in the car easier...I've got a "Bill of Sale", after all. I understand you like the Legion and all, but that's just delusional, I'm sorry.
