The Library of Geographical Maps

Welcome.

In this thread I am going to be posting my maps that I create. Hopefully I'll get to make a lot, and, again, hopefully they'll be very useful.

Was gonna hold this off until I finished the first, but gave in to temptation.

Didn't Black Marsh secede from the Empire? I'm just assuming that all the grey is supposed to represent the Empire. Also as far as I know, Solstheim is supposed to be independent now, though I might be wrong.

It's a work in progress, the grey is what I haven't done yet.

Ah, okay. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to what else you come up with then.

Maybe you could try and create a map of Akavir, based on the current geography we have, you could get a basic shape from the east coast of Tamriel and and what we know of Yokuda. Assuming the continents were together at one point, like Pangaea on Earth. http://justinpride.notsleepytime.org/Pictures/Maps/tamrielpolit.jpg another map you could use if you want, but be sure to give credit where credit is due though.

Try and reposition Whiterun if you can, because as we now know it's to the northwest of High Hrothgar, not to the northeast.

Thanks for that! And I can try and give it a go. It might turn out horribly though :L

Ok, will do. Thanks for that :)

Does anybody know who made the original map?

Hmm... Does anyone know if the Khajiit/Dominion conquered Leyawiin and its surroundings? If so, did it keep them after the treaty, or cede them back?

As far as I'm aware, they conquered the majority of southern Cyrodiil, but I need to check more sources before I implement that to the map.

26 layers and one hour later, the Skyrim part has been patched, and Whiterun is in the right place.

Have you also added Morthal, moved Markarth Side and removed the "Side" from the name?

No, they occupied southern Cyrodiil but they were driven out with the destruction of their army at Red Ring. The Dominion controls none of Cyrodiil's territory after the Great War.

Keep in mind that while that map is great for showing Yokuda and such, the shape of Pyandonea is inaccurate because we don't actually know the shape of it, other than the rectangular blob shown on the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/daggerfall-globe-official... rather small.

Does anybody know who made the original map?

The one in your first post is a map that was created by combining all the official maps of each individual province that Bethesda released when Oblivion came out. I emailed Gstaff a few days ago to see if they had any plans to release a similar map for Skyrim, but he said that they don't at this time. So it looks like we'll have to rely on fan made maps for the foreseeable future.

Also, you should check out the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/cartography of the Imperial Library.

Also, it might be fitting to remove Winterhold from the map. After the Great Collapse it is hardly worth being on a map of all of Tamriel, in a map of Skyrim, sure, but Tamriel? Nah.

Thanks guys, and I think I'll keep Winterhold, after all, it does have the college in it and it used to be great and has quite a bit of lore about it.

When are you dating this map? Because the land's been in flux a lot. Are you doing 4E 200? Because if you are dating it to even the signing of the WGC (White-Gold Concordant), then Hammerfell is a part of the Empire.

Also, erase the cities on Vvardenfell. Infernal City shows Vivec as a smoldering crater and I can imagine that Balmora, Ald-Ruhn, and Sadrith Mora are little better.

Lastly, if it were up to me, I'd extend Black Marsh to around Mournhold, maybe even include Vvardenfell. But that's just me.

That is what the opening post says. So, it is highly likely that this is 4E201. Also, Black Marsh only held the marshy areas of Morrowind. Their territory should stop at the Deshaan Plains, which is where Narsis is located.

From a purely technical standpoint, jpg next time please. No idea what you did to compress that png (if anything), but it takes half of forever to load.

But.. but... but... Hist Grove on Red Mountain! You have no idea how much I want this to happen.
