The Library of Tes F'rum

Sounds good. Stuff like this has a habit of disappearing over time, having it safely stored somewhere where multiple people can access it would be nice.

ooooooo. Maybe PS can redo her revised ABC's for Barbarians :D

D is for Dragon! And Dovahkiin.

Thought about a pro-Potema book written by some Nord who had served her, dismissing much of the bad stuff about her as propaganda by cowardious beaurocrats (or however you spell that word). Feel free to write it though as I havnt started on it, and maybe wont.

Then perhaps a creation story, it would seem that the Nords do not have a fixed creation story so something about them being made from snow, touched by Kyne and their heart being formed by a drop of Shor′s blood? Or something like that.

Thanks for bumping this topic too, I had lost it among the chaos around here.

I can help.

I'm not much of a Modder or writer. But I can proof read, lore check and possibly help organise the sections.

It will give me something to do.

Yay for books! I'm no lore superbuff, but I might be able to do a plausible book or two.

Oh noes! I killed the library thread! I must reanimate it, or at the very least turn it into a headless zombie-type thread so that it can go on terrorizing titillating the masses.

Hah, thanks. I think I may create a topic in the fanfic forum at some point, since that's where most of the writers will be.

I may write something about a character I was working on. He's a Nord who, after partaking a mysterious exploratory mission for Solitude, gets lost in the Sea of Ghosts. The first volume will be written in a journal format, dealing with his discoveries and, along the way, there arises questions of his faith and his people. Think "Odyssey" but in Elder Scrolls format. Hopefully, it'll translate well for Skyrim players.

Id happily write a story involving the whole TES universe, I work along side my mate Josh and we film short movies, and our screenplays have been enjoyed from writers from film like twilight new moon and some other famous writers. I would crack on with a few ideas and get writing soon for you.

Won't this just mean loads of incorrect lore?

Doesn't have to be. They're most likely stories, not history books. As long as the stories don't involve things that directly contradict the lore (And so M'aiq took out his dwemer shotgun and shot the pink dragon in the head) I don't think it would be a problem.

Yeah, stuff like that would just get put into the "erotic fantasy" section.

Does it have to remain to skyrim relevance? or can it be within anything on the TES universe because otherwise i am going to have to have a sit and read about it all, I have a good story in my head about a lone warrior becoming know for some specific and being betrayed by the ones he thought loved him and gets killed or something like that, I might write multiple short stories

I'd be tempted to open it up to any sort of fiction. People write about all sorts of things, and it would be good to have a non-TES fiction section. TES fiction needn't be specific to Skyrim.

Nah I wont do any sort I think I will set it in the TES universe and have some relevance to a specific guild etc, and maybe in the form of a journal in which the main guy is writing it as he is slowly dying so you never get the actually ending to his story. Any good as a quick idea that popped into my head?

I like this idea, and I've needed something to get me motivated to start writing again.

I'll see if I can get a story or two done before Christmas break is over.

Well, here is your motivation!

I already have one submitted piece of writing which I haven't got round to reading yet (tomorrow!). More is better.

I don't know why you want to keep it secret. It would be much better to post it here, so everyone can review it. Guarantees quality.

This idea was mooted in the build up to Oblivion's release too, though for some reason it fell apart. If memory serves, a lot of books were submitted.Ever read all the books in Morrowind or http://www.imperial-library.info/content/elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion? The sheer volume is astounding. I imagine for Skyrim the same books will be recycled again with new ones added in the mix, giving us probably thousands of pages to read. The idea of the Library of Tes F'rum is to collect together books written by forum members between now and release. They can be two-page short stories, fictional almanacs, archaic herbalist guides... Whatever you can think of. Come release, a team of people will convert the collection into in-game books, build a grandiose library to house them in, and release it as a mod. Who's interested? For now, if you wish to submit a book PM it to me and I will collect them together. Once a decent number start coming in we'll find a better way to organise them.

I've had a story about Sideways Cave (near the Imperial City) in my mind for several years now. I started writing it in Dutch a while ago, but I'll probably rewrite the entire thing in English once I get the time. Everything in that cave lends itself to a nice story, but knowing it, it might turn out to be just a tad bit longer than an in-game book.

You could always make a journal of M'aiq the Truthful, full of stories of his adventures riding dragons whist double wielding his dwemer shotguns as his friends Steve and Other Steve threw spears and shot crossbows all throughout the Akavir Continents.

That's fine, we can just release it in volumes, like Bone (http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-bone-part-i, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-bone-part-ii).
