The little things you love about Skyrim

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:24 pm

Alright the last thread got locked because some people we're more focused on whining other then talking about the good things in the game. i was given permission to make another thread. so let's talk about all the little things that we love about Skyrim.

one little thing i love is that characters react to someone being killed. i killed a merchant who sent thugs after me. and the next time i walked into his shop his wife was mourning over his dead body and wouldn't even talk to me. i made a thread a few months before release that wanted that very thing to happen. and i was happy when it did.

what little things do you enjoy about Skyrim?

Where is that merchant?! I'd like to have a few words with him!! Hmmm, the small things I love about skyrim. I love when I don't run into a glitch :) Seriously though, I'd say.....it's probably all the unexpected things that happen to you when people come to kill you. Like the brotherhood sending.....oh I don't now how many of their minions I've killed so far and looted the letter. Plus merchants trying to kill you, thieves trying to kill you etc. Not scripted or anything, just random people who don't like you, or their life, trying to kill you.

I like the fact that you can actually see that crypt (where you get the golden claw) from atop High Hrothgar, or any location near it.

There are a great many things I like about this game. A few of them are,

Npc's recognizing drawn weapons and readied spells. Lit windows at night, the amount of followers there are. The waterfalls, an improved but not yet perfect bounty system.

Last but not least npc's now having access to wc's/toilets/dunnies whatever you like to call it. In oblivion the poor old npcs had nothing.

- Freedom (to have fun how you like or not have fun as you wish)
- Environment / Atmosphere (the world is specific in its feel, dynamic in its range and delineated in its cultures)

Who? Is that the Jester outside of Whiterun who was looking for help with his cart?

Yes, but he is more involved in a certain questline where you will see him alot.

That in Oblivion, no fast travel was neither here nor there, but in this game not using it absolutely makes it for me. What do I like about Skyrim the game? Skyrim the province. The snow in the wind, the blizzards, the wildlife, the ruins, the fact even your character looks grey out in all that snow, the fact that even meeting someone who won't converse with you makes you realise how lonely it was making you feel.

I love all the treasure maps you can find around in the game;) Nothing like running around
looking for the X marks the spot on a map!
