Dungeons. The dungeons are magnificent.

So much better than Oblivion.

I don't think I've seen one I've been bored with.

[1] Seeing random books and elks flying through the air.

[2] Dead spiders spawning in Winterhold.

[3] Power-attacking so hard I could squeeze through iron bars.

I love how I went into a cave all the way on the west side of the entire map and these bandits who were Dunmer and "gamblers" who were some human species had set up a wolf fighting arena. It was extremely interesting.

I love how i can climb mountains and all the little ledges with crooks and crannies they have to make my way up to my destination.

I love the SKYRIM soundtrack and how music doesnt play all the time allowing environmental sounds to be fully enjoyed aswell not always warn when an enemy is nearby.

I love how there are different markers for different quests and for setting random ones making it easier to enjoy exploring.

I love how Argonians look so reptillian and scary.

I love how muscular males are and how buetiful females look aswell as their tastefully revealing undergarments.

I love how i can move around items and see them in detail in the inventory.

I love how i can catch flying insects like butterflies and use them as ingrediants.

I love how monsters look and their differences in furiousity and acttacks.

I love the immense variety of terrain in SKYRIM.

I love the real world food such as bread, tomatoes, chicken, wine. mead etc

I love the huge selection of clothing and hoods.

I love the interesting merchants and innkeepers throughout SKYRIM with plenty of rumours and gossip to be revealed.

Being from Canada I like how realistic the winter weather effects are. I think it must be extremely cold for my skinny elf wearing barely any fur armor to stay warm.

ANYWAY I love the little Inukshuks (if anyone knows what they are).

I love the environment and the world its self.

I love the NPCs, their backgrounds and conversations

I love the model movements when doing skinning, smithing alchemy etc.

I love the finishing moves and one-shot assassinations

I love magic effects and the environmental effects that they cause

I love the purple summoning ball when you conjure something (really awesome looking)

I love just going to an inn, having a bite to eat, a drink and listening to the Bard.

This game is really immersive. Sure, its different gameplay and RPG wise, but I love it. Oblivion was really fun, but not nearly as immersive as Skyrim and the NPCs + Models and facial animations were cartoony and not as realistic as Skyrim. Skyrim feels like a harsh, tough country and as it should be. The Skills from my point of view are fine. Sure they're different and not super complicated in-depth RPG style, but I think they have a perfect balance for me right now. You can specialize in things you want, but not too complicated.

I love how when I try to take down a rabbit, fox or deer and it gets away, I'm not even frustrated that I botched the kill. I just watch it scamper off and smile.
I love how whenever I stay the night at an inn and then wake up to the bright light of day, I actually feel rejuvenated and well-rested.
I love the satisfaction of viciously ganking an NPC that ticked me off with one too many below-the-belt remarks and then looting them senseless.
I love how the atmospheric sounds in dungeons, every drip of water and dislodged pebble, make me feel like an enemy is about to jump out at any moment and catch me unawares.
I love the noise that harvesting a patch of mushrooms or flowers makes. It sounds so organic.
I love looking up at the sky at night and being blown away by the beauty of those enormous moons drifting in a sea of psychedelic aurora borealis.
I love how I'm able to measure how much somebody likes me by how many of their belongings they allow me to 'take' instead of 'steal'.
A few of my many loves.

The crazy Talos guy in Whiterun. Cracks me up every time I run past with his crazy ranting, "TALOS. . . . SKYRIM. . . ."

Ice spearing someone and watching their ragdoll fly.

Everything the dremora lord says.

Molag Bal's maniacal devil cackle when you finish his quest.

Mist in the mountains.

The way the guards comment on unique weapons equipped, like Mehrune's Razor, "Who did you kill to get that blade?"

The way zombies moan.

Giants sending you into the stratosphere.

I just love the intro's to these bethesda games. Even Oblivion. Fallout. Skyrims opening is just so cool imo from the into splash screen to the opening cinematic. Oblivion also had that feeling with patrick stewart started talking.

I love frenzying an entire room of hagravens and waiting outside as the walls shake and door lights up from all the fireballs.

It's like a scene out of scooby-doo.

The little things i love:

The little ants crawling on a tree stump

The fact that water currents have an effect on your character now. Its actually quite difficult to swim upstream.

Seeing little butterflies flying around and actually able to catch them

Seeing salmon jump out of the water

No combat music when fighting a wolf. And yes, i get panicky when hearing a sudden sound behind me.

Illuminated windows at night. Excellent implemention of the mod that was in Oblivion.

I totally fell in love with this game when one night I saw fireflies and found out that I could actually catch them.

I love the Fallout 3 style fatalities. It just gives that Conan the Barbarian feel.

To me it's all the little things. The abandoned carts, the shacks and camps with a story behind them (some with quests), the treasure maps. So far I've found two camps journals that led to quests, one with a journal but no quest, three houses with journals (well, one was really just a note), and three or four merchant carts with bits of loot in them.

Some of the random consequences of your actions. For example, my new thief was talking along and suddenly get accosted by three thugs saying they will teach me a lesson. I managed to avoid them and ambush them as they searched for me. I looted them and found a contract to rough me up for stealing from someone. So at this early stage I knew it could only have been the owners of an inn I had stayed at and pilfered a bunch of stuff from the room as I checked out. So I went to find the person who had put a contract out on me, ready to teach them a lesson of their own...only to find that I had been targeted by a child!
A child had put a contract on me for stealing from the family inn...But listening to her in conversation with her family, it does not surprise me now that she would be the one to do it. Totally fits her character.

Using a power attack to cut off somebody's head and then watching it roll around on the ground for a little while before it finally comes to a stop.

God I love this game.

This ones a spoiler:

Spoiler

When I read an Elder Scroll I found, it burned my guy's eyes, and he dropped it, being blinded for half a minute.

You can find all sorts of quests anywhere, from searching for a missing husband, to locating clues about a dark elves past, all the way to helping an injured hunter achieve revenge.

You can put weapons in stands, on plaques, and in cases, and place books on shelves.

Well, one of the things I notice and enjoy is that there's no longer automatic battle music when killing a wolf for example. Now, I'm constantly looking over my shoulder when I hear a noise.

Yeah I totally agree. No more jumping out of your skin if there's a little rat or something around. I notice the music only really kicks up if you take significant damage - OR - if the enemy's health doesn't go down a lot in the first few seconds.

How the quest markers appear on the world map so you don't have to spend countless time looking for something if you don't want to.

Someone on another thread gave this as an example of why they didn't like the game.

I've noticed them (Canada Swag), I wonder if they are just randomly placed, or if you could actually use them to navigate. Maybe some incredibly dedicated person will figure it out.

I really like the plot line and how the land is part of a larger and more engrossing world with so much detail and lore. Plus I love the different races and how they all interact and the motives in this game are very interesting although I haven't really discovered most of them. I like the combat system and the different strategies you can use to defeat the enemy and win the battle. Most of what I love is the excitement I get from making choices not knowing the consequences, I like to discover as I go and see where they take me. I also like alot of the twists they put into the questline. I like how the land is set up into vassels of power. I like the more open class system for building characters, I want to try different things. Most of all I like combat, not so much into skulking around snooping into houses. There isnt a thing i dislike about this game other than I want tougher battles and more action. I would almost give up voice acting for a bigger more explorable world with more dangers.

the intro. the fact that Ralof mentions a girl in Helgen who makes mead with juniper berries, and if you go back to Helgen at any other point in the game you can find several bottles of "mead with juniper berries" in the inn you jump into from the tower. Hadvar's resignation when he says "you picked a bad time to come home to Skyrim, kinsman".

the level design. the art direction. the way buildings look. the way faces look. the way armor looks. the way weapons look. the water. the clouds - Bethesda's always made amazing skyboxes, and Skyrim steps it up a notch.

the atmosphere in Dwemer ruins. the puzzles in Dwemer ruins. the EVERYTHING in Dwemer ruins. the tiny incidental narratives all over the place. the gentle fog effects in dungeons. the unique dialogue for dungeons - i put down a bridge in a bandit cave once and a bandit patrolling on the other side piped up "what's this bridge down for? i thought we had guards posted" and went to check it out.

the way a sprinting power attack with a mace feels. the killanim where you impale a dude on your sword and lift him up in the air a bit. the killanim where you jump on a dragon's neck and jump into the air and bring an axe down on its skull. the way the Skyrim theme kicks in when you've almost defeated a dragon. the way dragons will sleep on word walls. the way any shout is sufficient enough to knock something off a table or make somebody stagger.

the way people gather around a dragon corpse and stare at it for a while. my most memorable dragon fight involved a squad of Legion soldiers and a couple giants - we took out an Elder Dragon a little ways from Whiterun and when it was finished we all just stood around the corpse for a minute or so after it had dissolved before going our separate ways.

the fact that i've accumulated 40 hours of gameplay and have barely scratched the surface, and the fact that i'll be doing it all over again on a good computer with full graphics and experiencing literally a whole new game. and the fact that the DLC hasn't even come out yet and whatever they do with that will be just as incredible as the core game.

when i first played it i didn't feel the same sense of alien wonder i felt when i played Morrowind and Oblivion and Fallout for the first time, because Skyrim feels very much like an improvement over those but not a dramatic change over their formula, but at the same time it feels very much like Bethesda finally knows exactly what it is they want to do, and Skyrim truly shines as a result.
