The Lonely Deathclaw

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 8:44 pm

Messing around after finishing the story (institute's side) I found a single Deathclaw on the road south of Abernathy Farm. Seeing as it didn't attack me when I got close, in fact, it completely ignore me and continued moving along the road, I decided to do what any rational vault-dweller would do, and follow it! And it traveled a lot for a Deathclaw.

We started basically 30 m from Abernathy Farm, and ended on the bridge next to Forest grove marsh. Unfortunately, the journey ended there as the Deathclaw got stuck between the trucks, and the NPC anti-stuck teleportation didn't work as it kept teleporting him to back between the trucks.

After seeing this, and not killing him, I decided to look online for anyone else who had found this or something similar, but I couldn't.

So I decided to. And I dub thee Thy Lonely Deathclaw!

I would be interested to see if anyone else found this, or something similar. I'm mostly interested in seeing where the journey should have ended, but it was probably the glowing sea as we were traversing the western Commonwealth.

Here are some screenshot of the journey, as well as the rough path taken:

(Because I can't post links yet, here's the ending for imgur /a/7HQCp)

Interesting, have you done the 'museum of witchcraft' quest yet?

No I haven't yet, but I have go the quest to be done, so the first stage of "investigate this". It could be something to do with that. Would be an interesting back-story to the Deathclaw

I don't want to spoil anything but it's the only instance of a non hostile deathclaw that I can think of, in fallout 4 anyways. Its a shame it got stuck, I'd love to know where it would of ended up ?

Edit ~ "I don't want to spoil anything . . ." it's in the spoiler's sub section, duuuh!

Of course though, the Deathclaw would likely despawn due to me moving away.

The Deathclaw found on the road strikes me as a random encounter. It being non-hostile may or may not be intended. It probably will go poof after you leave if you stay away long enough.

The one you find at the end of Devil's Due will sit there forever.
