I'm trying to download some mods for C&C Generals, but it isn't working. Managed to get Real Threat installed and patched it so the game will run, but the mod won't. Bah, may have to get Zero Hour.

I love my english teacher, he's so awesome. We just got a list today to choose which book we would like to read this quarter.
Spoiler
Oedipus the King
Julius Caesar
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Wuthering Heights
Jane Eyre
The Awakening
The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Alice in Wonderland
The Left Hand of Darkness
The Hobbit
The Time Machine
Brave New World
1984
A Clockwork Orange
Childhood's End
The Fountainhead
Dracula
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
A Streetcar Named Desire
A Farewell to Arms
For Whom the Bell Tolls
The Stranger
Native Son
The House of the Seven Gables
The Hound of Baskervilles
Robinson Crusoe
Death of a Salesman
Pride and Prejudice
Little Women
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
The Natural
Huckleberry Finn
Silas Marner
The Mill on the Floss

I've been meaning to read the Hobbit though so sounds like a good time to do that. May read another for some extra credit so be sure to recommend me one.

Also, I've got my first game tomorrow. Three hour bus ride...But I'm excited! Can't wait.

I recommend:
The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The Hobbit
1984
Dracula

I haven't read the others to be honest, but those all rank in my favourite books.

well, screw the Vicodin. Like my mom, opiate-based narcotic painkillers don't work and make me fell sick (nauseous, dizzy, etc). And like my sister and dad, apparently Novocaine is particularly ineffective.

*sigh*

Still hurts bad, still can't even drink out of a cup. My sister had oral surgery a few months ago, so I'm using the syringes she had to use. It's working out pretty well.

I can't believe my mom when she says I'll be feeling better by Monday. I still feel like crap today, I can't imagine suddenly getting all better over the weekend in time to drive myself places.

College semester starts next week. 4 course, two of which are labs. Oceanography, Ecology, World Civilizations III, and a Health & Fitness course. I have a really big break (several hours) between two of my courses twice a week - any ideas how to fill the time, other than with homework? I've got a netbook, not sure if it can handle even an old game like Zeus: Master of Olympus.

What I do when I have a large break is simply go to my club and play my obscene collection of videogame music off a borrowed laptop.

Anyway, I had my first organic chemistry class today. It was almost every bit as horrible as I imagined. He doesn't really explain properly.

I hope they let you in Antibody, and that you don't end up sleeping on the streets.

Well, today's my last day of summer vacation since I'm starting college again tomorrow. Currently, it's very rainy, like it's been this whole week.

Thanks rmctagg, I too hope I don't wind up sleeping on the streets. :P

Speaking of which, I've been in my new dorm (and back in San Francisco, yay) for 2 days now. My room is much smaller than my last one, and it has no shower (there are 2 shared showers on this floor), but the plus side is that my cellphone reception is amazing, as opposed to my last room in which I rarely had more than 1 bar. Despite them saying it may take a few weeks for me to be able to sign into the school's wifi, I was actually able to do it today, which is good. The wifi is actually pretty fast too. I'm on my computer again as well.

Still have to sort out all of this financial aid stuff but by the looks of things everything will work out fine.

I actually started reading 1984 on the plane to San Francisco. I'm only a few chapters in so I can't say much about it, but it seems like it will get pretty good once I read more of it.

I read a handful of the books on that list, but my memory of them is so foggy that I can't give an honest review of any of them.

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Three guesses on what book I just purchased. The first two don't count.

I have his entire life works that have ever been recovered. This includes an unpublished draft of Shadow Over Innsmouth. Yes, I'm the arch-nerd of Lovecraft on these forums, so if you ever need some help of a Lovecraftian kind, let me know!

Well, school so far is pretty normal. I'm going to have a driving class tommorrow.

We're having family problems at the Defaulted household, though, so hopefully they'll fix themselves soon.

Ummmm.... I'm not sure how I should take that .

On the topic of books, I finished V for Vendetta earlier this week, quite enjoyed it. Waiting for the first Ciaphas Cain anthology (Hero of the Imperium) to arrive -even though its actually a gift, I've little doubt that I'll get to read it :P- and a psychology related book. Wish I could spare the money to buy lots and lots of books :(.

A fraternity brother turned 21. Gave him the Four Horseman, The Three Wise Men, and A Screaming Nazi with a Flame Thrower (Tabasco sauce + jaeger + cinnamon schnapps), and the other brothers a bunch of other stuff. Suffice to say, I think he's dead. Not my fault! Also, I'm taking a taster in quantum mechanics in my graduate level inorganic chemistry course (taught by the most awesome professor), and I started jogging quantum mechanic proofs in my head by the first day of lecture while I was asleep...I don't think I am going that crazy!

Im going to the pictures tomorrow with my friend to see a film. Hopefully Scott Pilgrim vs the world. Apparently its tailor fitted to the 90s kid generation or younger so itll be good for us.

Im pretty unimpressed about what my friends are posting on facebook nowadays. a sample of the templates of posts I see every day:

I love [insert name here] so much

[Insert @ link to someones profile here] I love you

Heading to [ insert pub name here] with [insert names here] to get [insert a Synonym for drunk here]

im so bored (or something similar)

some complaint about going to work

I try to be original on the site when I post. Saying something witty or posting something from youtube thats cool. I get a lot of likes for it. But urgh most of my friends just post the same kind of boring stuff. I hate the love posts the most they make me wanna vomit.
Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

oh my god, i gotta show my english teacher Bioshock yet. i had to "Properly" explain portal, Exposition, Rising Action, Conflict, Falling Action and resolution, as well as climix(which portal does have.)

let me guess, you quoted Andrew Ryan with "Does a man not deserve the sweat off his brow?" Might as well just throw an Ayn Rand book at your Teacher...i actually convinced our sociology teacher to see District 9...he loved the story, hated the blood, guts, and excessive swearing by the main character though...

The man DC told me; no it belongs to the state. The man in Moscow told me; no it belongs to everyone. The man in the Vatican told me; no it belongs to God. :D

Won our first game last night. 26-14 :D

Everyone did great, but our defense really shined. Our d-end had 3 sacks and a few tfls. Another d-lineman got a pick, it was sweet.

We're going undefeated this season.

Some friends and I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity earlier this week, and today we went and worked on the site all morning. All that was up was the frame, so there was a lot of good old fashion climbing up on ladders and hammering everything into place. It was fun and a nice change from doing barely nothing physical since being at university.

College for me starts Monday. I've got my bills already payed (575.50$). I'm very glad I had that valedictorian tuition exemption, as that shaved off 1775 dollars, and my scholarship shaved off another 500. Next semester will see the same price cuts for me as well. :D

I just hope I can find a good parking spot...

Well its been 13 days of school so far and I must say that I'm liking junor classes better in comparison to my sophomore classes and is a great improvement. My Physics teacher is a bit eccentric in a good way and actually got into string theory somewhat. It was also fun trying to explain (which to be fair I'm rather bad at) the Theory of Relativty to the class; got a bunch of nonplussed* stares after that until my teacher ended up explaining it better with the help of a model.

I'm also enjoying my AP classes thus far except for copious amounts of homework but thats to be expected atleast. My Socialogy teacher is a bit wacky and has made plenty of jokes of students at their expense which provides for much amusemant. For the most part I like all of my teachers with my only complant being that the school here seems to get more and more crowded each year and that I still have to deal with the knuckle draggers whenever I go out into the halls. Overally though it has been a good start to my junor year.

*My AP English teacher wants us to use some of our vocab words on the sites that we visit like facebook for example as a sort of assignment.

Well today was a good day. After waiting around the center and bumping into people i knew my friend showed up 3 hours late, she said she felt guilty hugged me and bought me a drink. We had hungry jacks where a guy we used to go to school with now is the manager. We went to see Scott Pilgrim Vs the world we both enjoyed it was really fun to watch. Then went to Glenelg and had some more drinks at a bar where we were the youngest there. A guy started coming on to her a bit I gave him the "erm mate, just no" look and he walked off. We drank up sang we are the champions by Queen and went home after a nice hug :)

Went to the 2010 fan expo in Toronto this weekend. Yesterday, I went with a date who pre-drank and basically stumbled into the out-of-bounds areas, in which I had to follow and find her.

Long story short, I ran into Stan Lee and asked him if he had seen her. Today, I ditched the drunk date and snuck back to where I was before (because it was so easy) and met Adam West, and the original cast of Batman (Catwoman and Robin) I also met Felicia Day and Summer Glau.

I actually ran into Summer a lot and I ended up getting her reservations at an amazing restaurant that over looks the City. The food and the view is amazing, i've only been there once because its a bloody fortune..and my dinner was on the restaurant manager because I did some design work for their website.

We also took a couple of (funny) pictures -- I made her wear my massive Kanye glasses, and the photographers are gonna mail them to me.

They had a gaming section too. I got to try out Kinect adventures, which was very disappointing. The actual Kinect thing looks HUGE in comparison to what you see in demos..the game was also very non-responsive. They also had a halo reach booth, but everyone was playing death matches, so I didn't bother...I do have to note, the game does look heavily polished in comparison to what it looked like in the beta.

All in all, I had a good time.
