First exam down, 4 more to go. One is open book but I don't think I will take advantage of that since I probably don't need to (Intro to VB.NET class). We will see how it goes though when I get into the room. I think our instructor just did that since he is lazy and didn't teach the whole semester anyways. He might even give us multiple tries as he did on our normal quizzes.

As a nerdfighter this week I need to MUST make my P4A (project for awesome) video. Its my first time doing it and I want to do it well. Im going down to the Vincent De Paul society to film them doing their good work. This is the first nerdfighter thing I have ever done. There isn't a large nerdfighter community like in the USA or UK here so I think I might be one of a precious few Australians making a P4A video. Hopefully John and or Hank watches mine and I get an entry into the P4A raffle for prizes!

While Im on the subject of nerdfighting, is anyone on this forum a nerdfighter? If so, fellow nerdfighters DFTBA

On the way to the movie we had a taxi driver from hell. Once we got to the theater he told us, essentially, that a fun thing for the two of us to do together would be look up our names in the bible, then cross off our names when we find them so we know how far we've gotten into it. And we sat in the cab, outside the theater, for a good 5 minutes, trying our hardest to find a way to end the conversation politely while he talked at us. He talked very slowly about it, as if he really thought we wanted to do this. Eventually I managed to pull out my phone and say "Aw damn, out movie starts in 10 minutes" (even though it didn't start for an hour). The worst part was that he started this conversation after we had payed him and tipped him for being a seemingly pleasant person to talk to on the way there. Oh my god, that was the most uncomfortable situation I've been in in a long time. In case your wondering, the problem I had was not his religion, but rather that he was pushing it onto us. That's not cool. Anyway, I don't want to break any rules here so I'll end this tangent now.

I was in that situation once, except it wasn't a cab driver. It was a random dude. I took 3 years off between high school and university, and one of my random jobs during one of those summers was on a concrete crew. We had a lot of pours to do one day so we just left people at some sites until we could come back and put up the snow fence to keep people off the wet cement. I was one of the lucky ones who got to watch concrete dry. I was just chilling on the ground, when a man who lived across the street from the pour came over and asked if I'd like a chair. I refused, but he just stood there and started preaching to me. It was the absolute most uncomfortable 30 - 45 minutes of my life.

So for the aforementioned easy writing assignment, I had to write a letter to Santa through the perspective from a list of options. I chose the narrative of a 4-year old, and I deliberately used egregious grammar, spelling and malapropisms. I don't know whether or not my teacher will approve of this (Mark Twain did it), but if not I will accuse her of "undermining our creativity"

Congratulations, but there is one problem. This will take place just a month after TESV, which will certainly lead to you backing out.

Well, last exam was yesterday. If I were to put a guestimate onto marks, in order of sitting, it would go roughly 60-70%, 50-60%, 60-65%, 15-25%.

Yeah, last exam was a disaster. I have no idea what happened, but all the questions seemed to be in a foreign language. We had 90 minutes to answer 3 questions. By the time the exam was over I'd barely just thrashed my way through one and a half. General reception afterwards was rather mixed. Oh well, it's only 4.17% of my overall degree.

Once my last exam was over, it was straight of to... the library! Yup. Stuck in the library until 1.30am working on group project, which has to be in by Friday. I've been handled the mantle of group leader for this final sprint, since our actual group leader has an exam on Friday. Oh well, I need something to do while I wait for the booze to start flowing.

Thank you all, it's very exciting. And yes, we know that Skyrim will interfere slightly. We'll probably need to sacrifice some of the wedding funds for a new computer, and we'll need to get the planning done by 11.11.11. It'll be an unconventional honeymoon to say the least.

Also, good luck on your exam and project Thunderdong. I feel your pain, exams are horrific torture.

I've got final exams this week, and I think I'll be okay with them. I had one today, and I think I did well, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I've got all my holiday gift shopping done and taken care of, that is a relief.

I still have my "buy 2 get 1 free" coupon for used games from Gamestop. Problem is, I can't really find the games I want at the stores. I have all the PS2 games I want, and the selection of PSP games is rather slim (nevermind that 2/3rds don't have their original box and manual). The coupon expires at the end of this month, I'd be bummed if I wasted it. I'm thinking of Assassins Creed: Bloodlines, Dante's Inferno, and Little Big Planet. The games I really want, though, are probably Gladiator: Begins and the new God of War game - but they are too expensive for me right now, and I don't know if there are any used copies at the store. Anyone have any ideas what I could do? No one else in the family uses their consoles (Wii, DS), so it isn't like I could use the coupon to buy a gift for someone. I wish some of the less-expensive games I want were at the stores (with original boxes, manuals). But, here's another thing, I'm pretty happy with the games I'm playing now, it isn't like I'm in need of a new game to play. But, I don't want to let that coupon go to waste. *frets*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1D1cap6yETA my mid-term exams have been post-poned until after the holiday break due to weather uncertainty. Basically all the school officials went bat-[censored] insane over 2 inches of snow and gave us 2 days off this week and we're supposed to get freezing rain tomorrow night (which might actually cause some problems)

But, I don't want to let that coupon go to waste. *frets*

You could always get me Forza 3 or Armored Core 4 for the 360 :P

Today i learned how VHL may have affected the Hatfields and McCoys, i told my Biology teacher that i had to go so deep into West Virgina that they had to pump the sunshine in and the moonshine out to find that out. 10 points extra credit for making her Lol..

Success!

Well, my group project hit a snag less than 24 hours before the submission deadline. I was proof-reading with an American girl, jokingly arguing over centre/center and other such silliness to keep us entertained as we went. Then I said

"Read the first sentence of this paragraph... What's the first thing you think".
Her: "Nothing? It's a good sentence?"
Me: "Yes..."
*Googles*
Her: "..." *sigh* "no..."

In total, about 4000 words of our 16000 word report were plagiarised. Whole paragraphs at a time lifted straight off the internet, just a quick Google away. That led to me getting no sleep at all on Thursday night as I tried to identify what sections were plagiarised, chasing up the culprits and trying in vain to get them to resubmit something I'd actually be willing to have my name associated with, on top of getting the last of the work that I'd actually intended to do done. I have never been so angry in my life. Reported them to the uni, got advice from the School misconduct officer, then eventually got everything submitted by 1pm yesterday. From then it was back to my flat by 1:30pm for a shower and a change of clothes (at this point I'd been up for 30 hours straight and felt just a little bit skanky), then met up with everyone at the Union at 2:30pm to celebrate the fact that, despite all the setbacks and frustrations, we had actually finished all we had to finish this semester.

Much joviality, drinking and cookie baking ensued, before I headed back to my flat at about 10:30pm, in bed by 11pm, at which point I caught up on a very welcome 14 hours of sleep.

I need a holiday. Thankfully I'm now getting one :)

So my video for project for awesome video has been up for 24 hours now and I have 9 views. Obviously just asking nicely isn't the way to get things done. John and Hank Green seem to be working on a reward program basis. For example $50,000 dollars got donated so the shaved P4A into weeezywaiter's chest. So tomorrow I will make a new video and offer them a prize if my video gets enough views and likes while P4A is still going on youtube.

So I have decided today that 2011 is going to be a highly productive year for me. Starting on Monday I plan to really focus on learning some programming and gettign ready for certifications. I will try and spend alot of time at the library and very little time (minus weekends if at all) playing video games. I had set a goal similar to this for 2010 and it only was met about half way if that. I had said I was goign to game less and be more serious about school. While I did put more effort into studying I didn't do as much of it as I wanted and tarted slacking on this towards the end of the semester. I need to complete plenty of IT certifications for my college major and if I do them on my own I can get done much sooner than if I took each course at the school, plus I save a bunch fo money.
