The lyrics of the teaser trailer

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 1:41 pm

In a discusion someone said that the song in the trailer was in the dragon language, but I just heard it again that can't be right. From what I hear they sing:

Dovahkiin, dovahkiin, for the sake of Skyrim
For our land, for our lord, the Hrothmunds blood
(then a line I don't understand)
Dovahkiin, our king, for high hrothgar

Do anyone know the lyrics?
P.S: I couldn't find a thread about this, so I'm sorry if it is an active one.

Dovahkiin Dovahkiin
Naal ok zin los vahriin
Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal
Ahrk fin norok paal graan
Fod nust hon zindro zaan
Dovahkiin Fah hin kogaan mu draal

No no no you see... people thought it was:

For the king! For the king!
For the sake of Skyrim!
For our land! For our home!
For High Hrothgars blood!

For the Nords and the gods,
For the sole single son
Dovakiin, our king
Will dawn in fire

Personally, i like this better but it's actualy:

DOVahKiiN DOVahKiiN
NaaL OK ZIN LOS VahRiiN
Wah DeiN VOKUL MahFAERaaK ahST VaaL
ahRK FIN NOROK PaaL GRaaN
FOD NUST HON ZINDRO ZaaN
DOVahKiiN Fah HIN KOGaaN MU DRaaL

ahRK FIN KEL LOST PODRah
DO VED ViiNG KO FIN KRah
TOL FOD ZeyMah WIN KeiN MeyZ FUNDeiN
ALDUIN FeyN DO JUN
KRUZiiD VOKUN STaaDNAU
VOTH aaN BahLOK Wah DiiVON FIN LeiN

Which when translated is:

Dragonborn Dragonborn
By his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph’s shout
Dragonborn for hunger blessing we pray

And the scrolls have fortold
Of black wings in the cold
That when brothers wage war come unfurled
Alduin, bane of kings
Ancient shadow unbound
With a hunger to swallow the world

Okay, the dragon language sounds way too much like english in my opinion. Thanks for clearing that out :D
Edit: sounds too much like english if you don't have the lyrics in front of you.

That's been known for a while now. Has anyone tried to transcribe the lyrics from the new iteration of the main leitmotif? You know, the actual Elder Scrolls theme?

With a lot of songs it's easy to confuse the lyrics with something else, especially if you don't understand them to begin with. Though when I heard the Skyrim theme, I never thought it was English, I just didn't know what the words were.

I assume you mean the one in the gameplay trailer? I do know that one has an aditional bit with a melody that sounds inspired by the Morrowind theme before the "Dovahkiin! Dovahkiin!" part, I can't make out the lyrics, though, and if anyone has tried to do so and transcribe them, I don't know about it.
