The magical laser attachment

Post » Mon May 06, 2013 1:48 am

The whole point of gun sights/scopes is to help you correctly aim at target.

All the attachments do what they are supposed to (more or less), but let's take a look at how adding a laser to your weapon in Crysis somehow controls where the bullets hit.

It's magic.

And for this reason alone, there are a ton of complaints about certain weapons being used with the laser.

These complaints could all be avoided by making the laser only do what it's supposed to do.. help you aim while hip-firing.

Hey. As much as I agree with you that that is OP, but isnt that what the laser is supposed to do.

Don't send me hate mail. But think about it. The gun doesn't get any less accurate here or before. The way I see it is that when you dont have the laser, the gun would be aimed without much thought because you just don't know where it shoots. Its like bouncing around in your hand (Unrealistic example but just try to see what I am saying).

I am not a laser user at all.

There should be a better way to fix this. For example when you shoot the laser moves (almost the same way the gun does without the laser).

The way I see is the gun increases stability not accuracy. I know that statement is wrong but you are getting my idea hopefully. I am just trying to see both sides and how to correct it properly. More random horizontal recoil is needed.

Please don't kill me.

That is...very freakin' broken...

Theres virtually no horizontal (sideways) recoil at all. I thought it was odd that I was scoring so many headshots hipfiring with a laser. Now I see why.

What OP is getting at is that laser makes the gun defy logic. Even if you don't know where the gun is pointing, the physical properties of the gun (recoil, spread, etc) don't change.
But in C3 it's implied that without a laser the gun itself becomes more unstable...or laser "stabilizes" the gun. Which makes no sense.

Oho, I have something far worse than death for you.
You are henceforth punished with having to attach a laser to every gun you use, ever!

How about I frame this the other way then. Why do bullets come out of the gun at completely different angles when hip firing without a laser sight? Shooting without using the weapon sights doesn't change the physical properties of the gun and magically make it more accurate.

Ugh, I remember the frag grenades in Black Ops are "heat seeking" meaning when they land they roll towards the player, I'm almost certain they will even roll up hill. Stupid, Call of Duty.

There needs to be more "horizontal recoil" . I know it isnt recoil but you got the picture. The gun it self doesnt get any more accurate her or before, its just it increases the "stability" of the gun.

So instead of saying the laser increases accuracy of the gun, in reality, it increases the stability of the gun. Thats the problem.
