Am I the only one that has noticed they have recycled Morrowinds main theme 3 times?

(Maybe they used it in Daggerfall but I've never played it)


I mean, when I first played Oblivion after buying it on the main menu all I was thinking was "Woah, Morrowind's theme in trumpet form?"



Now, even on the trailers they are using that same melody.


Its a wonderful Melody, no doubt. But why do you figure they have reused it 3 times? Maybe they think it is a tradition to the series at this point?

There was a big debate prior to Oblivion's release where Bethesda said that they were making that melody the official Elder Scrolls theme.

It's a great theme, too, which is why I love that they are doing it. When the "Sounds of Skyrim" trailers came out, I literally got goosebumps when the melody kicked in. And during the Announcement Trailer, that small snippet was what made it real in my mind.

It's more like The Elder Scrolls Theme Song....Just play differently for each game....

Because it's friggen' awesome, that's why, and they tailor it to each new TES game to fit that one. It's a very good idea and I definitely think they should continue with it for TES 6.

The same melody Played heavily with drums and cosmic unexplainable sound...It fit TES VI : Summerset

Its a great song that fits the theme of the series very well. I have no problem whatsoever with them re-using the same musical score for other games in the series. Movies do that too. Go watch any Star Wars movie and you will hear the same theme music in all of them just played slightly differently.

yeah just like Zelda,Metroid and the Mario bros theme ,different remixs.

Removing it would be sad.

I like it, but I didn't like it in Morrowind when it played every 10 minute or so. :tongue:

I like the theme... didnt like oblivion's though. I am glad they have gone back to their roots!

I liked the music from the Daggerfall trailer....Antonin Dvorak's American Suite Final Allegro Movement

Because it's great and probably tradition by now. Honestly if they wanted they could easily make a new one, they have Jeremy Soule for crying out loud.

Yeah, I loved it in Morrowind the most, in was beautiful, but I love the theme in Skyrim's trailer too.

I love that theme, it is a TES them for me, not just one game. And I love the Skyrim variation to bits

The Skyrim version is truly epic, but nothing beats the Morrowind theme. So many memories... Just beautiful.
